Very interesting! Thanks, Martin. Now I wonder what he might do in NYC and will I miss it? (will be there in Oct. right after the album comes out so that's what I'm guessing is going to happen... )

Since you can chose a different country, you probably can apply, but like with for example the iTunes Festival, there's no way you will get picked. edit: Sorry, my bad, it's 'County' not 'Country' lol. So obviously UK-only.

i didn't like the way it said in the terms

"Does my ticket guarantee me a seat? Unfortunately your ticket does not guarantee you a seat on our shows where the tickets are complimentary. As these tickets are free, people often request more than they need, so we have to issue more tickets than there are seats available to allow for this."

So if planning to travel far, be aware it seems you still might not get in

Yup, it's a huge lottery. Bluff a Greater London address though. Way bigger chance they will pick someone from that area. It's being recorded at BBC Maida Vale Studios on 16 October 2013. Doors open at 11.30am.

^ i'd be wary of putting a fake address, i know with free BBC tickets they often ask for photo ID and proof of address even if you already have the printed ticket in your hand (to prove you haven't sold it on i guess), or they did when a friend went to one of these type of things.

                          .

Hi All, I've scoured the ticketing web-site for specifics about eligibility and cannot find the specific answer clearly needed by some here. Certainly the application form is UK-centric - the mission statement:

The BBC aims to truly reflect the nations, regions and diverse communities we serve, and to involve all sections of our audience in making shows. We want to encourage people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to apply to participate as members of studio audiences and contributors to programmes, to tour our buildings and to join us at events. We regularly audit BBC buildings to ensure accessibility for all visitors with disabilities and will, where possible, make reasonable adjustments for disabled people wishing to take part in BBC activities.

is vague - but following the principles seen in access to on-line material - particularly video content - the "nations, regions and diverse communities we serve," is generally understood to mean areas that pay the annual TV Licence for reception of TV/Radio content in the UK. As to the specific point above - entry would be guaranteed if allocated tickets in the lottery draw just you might find yourself in a "standing room only" area for the duration of the recording. That's commonplace for these types of events - shows like Jools Holland etc. Only a consideration if you have special access needs - but the mission statement above makes it clear they'll do their best to assist anyone needing such help. Martin.

I'm doing a deal where if I manage to get tickets I will have one spare and will take someone from here. Also, if anyone manages to win tickets and has a spare ticket then I'll happily take it! I'm just a bit disappointed that the past handful of Macca gigs in the UK haven't been made available for his fans to buy tickets.

Can one apply more than once for tickets to Paul's BBC show in October? Does applying more than once debar one from winning tickets?

The conditions read you may apply for a maximum of one pair of tickets. i.e. one or two So applying for more using multiple e-mail addresses is certainly against the spirit of the offer. Will they police it? Who knows? Do you want to risk losing a pair won legitimately if they do a search for duplicate address, telephone number - e-mails across all applicants? I would not. Martin
