Paul's work with Kanye

Apollo C. Vermouth:
I'm sure Paul will come to regret the association with Kanye West. The guy seems a totally obnoxious a...hole. Maybe it is all an act that appeals to his target audience.
WE need that "like" button here in this thread for sure!

RMartinez:
Anyone catch Kanye last night on SNL? WHY did I even learn to tune a guitar or play a melody??
Yes. I watched about 10 seconds and then fast-forwarded through the rest!

It?s very telling when users can?t do much more than silly name-calling and angry emoticons in a futile attempt to downplay one of the highest regarded and most talented musicians of our time. Yeahhhh, let?s all be relieved McCartney didn?t compose? some more music?? Luckily he?s himself not as shortsighted or led by gossip: "[Kanye is] an amazing talent. He's a crazy cat with it, but I love him. He's very talented. Completely different way of working from how I work, so it was very different. It's interesting. Really all I did was just threw a load of ideas at him and then left him to get on with it. And he just gradually sent me these tracks, one of which, "All Day," is nominated for a Grammy, Song of the Year kind of thing. And that came from a melody I showed him and a story I told him about this thing. And whereas it was a kind of quite a pretty melody that I'd given him, it came back as sort of an urban anthem riff. But it was just intriguing to see that that's what came of our collaboration. Another thing was the Rihanna song "FourFiveSeconds" came out of it. And then Kanye's "Only One," which came off the back of something we were just talking about. So yeah, this is the great thing about all this, it just keeps you fresh and, whilst there will always be people who say, "I don't know why you did that," there are people who are going to say, "I'm going out to tour this shit," and there are people who'll say "I don't know why you do that." Because in their perception of it?that's obviously not mine?but their perception of it is like slagging around on Greyhound buses, eating badly, having a terrible time, not selling out, and stuff. But if you like it like I have, it's not that at all, it's something really attractive. And I think this whole idea of doing these off-beat projects really helps to keep it fresh. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.? http://noisey.vice.com/blog/paul-mccartney-interview-2016 Boom. Your own damn hero proved y'all wrong.

"one of the highest regarded and most talented musicians of our time" - In his own mind for sure. Regardless of what Paul says about him and his so-called talent. I have no idea about his so called music, I don't wish to hear it as I don't really consider rap is music. It is mostly just obnoxious noise. Generally the only real music in rap seems to be sampled from old pop/rock. But as a human he comes across as a total grub who has to insult and denigrate others, even it is all an act, to promote himself and latest album, which probably makes it even worse.

McCartney's opinion means nothing to me on this subject. I can make up my own mind.

If you don't think Kanye West is a highly regarded musical talent, you really do need to get out (and maybe read) more. Like him or not, he is highly regarded.

He sucks. That is all I need to know. I don't need to read about him to think otherwise.

Wow, that's a snobbish attitude. So that's where it goes wrong. "Real music..." Like you mean how ... Paul McCartney experimented with samples/tape loops/electronics in anything from 'Tomorrow Never Knows' to 'McCartney II' to 'Liverpool Sound College' to 'How Kind Of You'...? Yes, pretty much confirmed he's way more open-minded to good music than his fans are. Hell, I don?t even care about Kanye West?s public outings for more than just the promo laugh it is, but if you wanna be a hypocrite, do it well: ?How dare Kanye West to collaborate with that dude from that band full of wife-beaters, cheaters and alcoholics.? Let's mix up musical talent vs. personality and controversy now, shall we. *cough John Lennon* *cough Jimmy Page* *cough David Bowie*. I never heard about Kanye West beating his wife, abandoning his kids or sleeping with underage girls while being married. But ah wait, the others are white rockers of course. Als, I?ve never seen a Kanye West-fan disrespecting McCartney's work or getting personal business involved they heard through the grapevine like I read at this place. But if Kanye West-fans wouldn?t see past The Sun like you people can?t read past TMZ, they would think The Beatles are wife-beating, hypocritical alcoholics. And yeah, highly regarded in his own mind. And that of fans/critics worldwide. An overview of reviews for his most recent albums: http://www.anydecentmusic.com/review/2316/Kanye-West-My-Beautiful-Dark-Twisted-Fantasy.aspx http://www.anydecentmusic.com/review/5599/Kanye-West-Yeezus.aspx http://www.anydecentmusic.com/review/7793/Kanye-West-The-Life-Of-Pablo.aspx Here lies the problem, fair enough if you don't care about his music or the genre, but half of you don't even know what you are talking about. There's so much McCartney-related output I don't care about from some of the evergreens to cringy collaborations, but I'm not obsessing on hating on it.

Hey if you actually like rap and what Kanye West does that's fine and I accept he probably is highly regarded. I'm just saying I personally don't give a rat's a... for it. Stop Press Just saw what West has now tweeted. Get this: To Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, New York Times, and any other white publication. Please do not comment on black music anymore. I mean what an arrogant a...hole. So what's he's saying every writer, editor etc for those publications is white and if they are white they are not allowed to give an opinion on so called black music. I hope they take up his request with every other so called white publication ,website & TV Channel, etc in the world . We wouldn't have to read anymore about him and this arrogant a...hole's obnoxious comments.

Mr K remains a d*ick. Declares (in a large forum!) he is $53m in debt and then asks for money?... what the?.... also makes his Bill Cosby comments (just to be divisive? for publicity?).... What a complete knob.... he's got money coming out of his ears and everyone knows it..... And don't anyone get fooled with his sham showbiz marriage.... contracts tend to have a start and end date.... from an artistic P.O.V. if I ever heard one of his songs that sounded good I'd admit it... but, alas, still haven't heard it.... a lot of artists I have not liked as personas, but I could admit it if they did have some decent songs... the same cannot be said for Mr. K.... he's a riddle parading as one massive jerk... oops, I mean, joke.... come to think of it, yeah.... jerk... and a joke.... jerk... joke... he's very, very fast losing the patience of his contemporaries.... I cannot open a door these days without his face appearing on the knob.

Loved Taylor Swift's answer to his disgusting lyric about her in acceptance speech. Makes me wonder where NOW is and why they are not supporting her against this type of thing. BTW - going to ask Mr. McCartney a question about his buddy the next time fans can submit a question to him. You think it would be published - LOL !!!!!!

More tweets from from West who just said he was $53 million in debt and asked Mark Zuckerrberg for a billion: Yes I am personally rich and I can buy furs and houses for my family and but I need access to more money in order to bring more beautiful ideas to the world. What a f...king hypocrite !!!!! Wonder if he has hit up his mate Macca yet for a billion so he can buy more FURS and spread more of his beautiful ideas to the world.... like wanting sex with "that b..ch" Taylor Swift. Obviously not satisfied with what he's getting from his missus.

Do you mean that waste of space lot the Kardashians? After the sex with Taylor Swift lyric perhaps he may be paying out big time to Kim in divorce settlement.
