WHY NOT A CONTEST HERE FOR THE FANS contest UPDATE!

WHY NOT A CONTEST HERE FOR THE FANS ? TO the - GRAMMYS Clear Channel is doing this "be the nation wide caller - 20" for the Paul McCartney weekend.. to the Grammy's it's virtually impossible to get thru on the fone lines,.. it doesn't matter how much you hit redial... not to mention all the strange things that happen when you call IN.. how many just want the $1000 bucks? Tours are announced last minute as we scramble to buy tix ..flights, etc why not a contest for US fans/ boardies/members here via Paul's own website . Some brainiac from MPL could come up with something.. where boardies could attend.. WHY NOT!!! ?!! I think it would be exciting! I'd rather see a REAL fan attend such an event than some Joe bloww off the street~ I could go on but, it's been a tiring day.... discuss.......

I had a simular experience in school Only I tried to make a request when John Lennon did his dj thing on KHJ radio in 1974. By the time the line was free. School was out and his stint as dj was over and some other guy is on. That is frustrating love doris
-
ahhh Doris sorry you missed your chance at John.. ops: were the requests Live did he speak to people personally on the air? no one thinks a contest would be cool?!! Ok more for Doris and I!!
-
Boardies only concert? I like the sound of that!
-
Of course a boardies contest would be great. But can you imagine?? It'd get a little vicious with just us die hards in the running! Hopefully something like this will happen one day. A paulmccartney.com members only contest. Only...please don't let it be something artsy, b/c I'm TERRRRIBLE.
-
That is....unless you say I "don't even get a chance" like in the radio contest thread. Because, in that case I think it's a horrible idea! lol

I have a story.. I know someone that works for the same company as I.. ?She spoke about meeting The Rolling Stones. and wernt back stage.. The Stiones being here favorite band.. and talked about how cool Keith Richards was..... and what a surreal experience it was for her as she is a mega fan of the Stones.. She also mentioned how down to earth Keith Richards is.... effin lucky

Now if that could only happen for us and Paul!!!...

I remember one of the contest here for St. Louis was questions you fill out in the newspaper, I spent a fortune on stamps sending those in and it's like you said, the lady who won just did for a lark and she even said she wouldn't let her kids listen to Beatle music back in the day. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper for her to have won at the time
-
Since I've come to the board, the various contest Paul has had (Though meeting him wasn't the prize) were for UK residents only and then there was the MFM one where you won the cookbook but the FB page wouldn't work for everyone.

what was the contest for exactly?
-
There would need to be a sponser to pay for it first of all. that's a start.

sponsors pay for the contest. Things like the price of the prizes (airfair and hotel accomodations plus meals). I guess we're hoping Paul would spoonser this one, huh?

I was going to reply but Kathryn beat me to it. For example, it looks like iHeartRadio is sponsoring this Grammy contest.

It was to meet Paul and I think you got front row seats.

No I just don't have time and access to a phone and radio station all the time. I did hear it announced on the oldie station here in St. Louis. I didn't think they were going to do it here but they are. Hey I just received my stuff in the mail for my premium member ship That was faster than I thought
