Coming here to help myself feel more positive can be a mistake sometimes. : I have found it is unfortunate that sometimes you can think people on a website are your friends, but then you have to remember that behind the names are real people who may or may not turn out to be nice people in the real world. As in everyday real life, be careful about who you befriend on any website. That was my biggest lesson. I am sure the squirrel story is hilarious. Carry on.
been there done that too. shame that.
been there and done that without the internet. It's happened to people I knew face to face too. behind the face they may turn out to not be nice people
I agree people can fool you in real life too. I meant by being careful on websites, is that people who have bad intentions can hide behind their screen names and make up all kinds of identities and pretend they are a different age, sex, or live in another country, whatever lie they choose. Then it is much harder to know they are not what they pretend to be. It is so easy to hide behind a name on a screen and be mean to others if you so choose. These types of people do not see or care about the harm they have caused to their victims after they log off. They might even choose to write a screenplay about it. It has really happened to a friend of mine, and I think that is a very evil thing to do. jmo. Maybe these things would not be so funny if it happened to 'them' is all I am trying to point out. And no one deserves to be kicked, even if they are wearing a sign that says "KICK ME." BTW> even squirrels are loving animals that some people, like me, value very much. Would it be funny if someone laughed about your dog, cat, mother or father, or child dying? People should try to have some compassion about living creatures.

^^ the squirrel was brought up (I think) because that person must have read something about Paul wearing a toupee. That's all.

Thanks for mentioning this about Pauls head. I am not sure either...but it doesn't matter. This site has made me have a thinker layer of skin than I had before I came here. PS> I think this should be a happy place too, but I was being honest about my experiences of what I have learned on this website, and I only told the truth of my experience, some good and some not so good. That is life.

You just made me wonder if I know you in real life and am your friend that happened too.

Kathryn, no I do not write screenplays. If you knew me in real life you would know I would never intentionally hurt someone. And you were not the person I was referring to, but maybe it has happened to you. I am sorry if someone has hurt you. Sending you Love & Hugs!

I've learn that Paul quit posting... under his old user names. : was it the dead squirrel on the head comment: Sensitive.
How did I miss that Paul used to post here? I recall official messages from Paul, but those stopped around the time of the divorce. Since then we get PR messages that occasionally quote Paul. When did a dead squirrel creep onto someone's head? So confused...
I was just thinking of how to respond to this. :
To me?
NO! To appletart...about the squirrel.
Ah, okay. So what is the story behind the poor, deceased squirrel?
Never heard of that one. Appletart is probably just missing some of our more colorful x members (that had interesting discussions) as many of us do.
Missing those old members and their discussions. They kept the place fun and lively. Those were the days... Still wondering about the squirrel, btw.

OH no, I didn't think for one moment that you were the one who wrote the screen play. I just figured we both knew the person.

I've also learned that websites with professional staffs are better at handling the type of problems I encounter on the net then websites run by volunteers or fans.
Why is that? What is better about professional sites than amateur?

There used to be frequent rumours that Paul was secretly one or some of the members here. As if he had nothing else to do.

There are times when I wish Paul could see some of my posts, and there are times when I'm hoping: "Oh, God, pleeeease don't let Paul EVER see this."
-
From the way we behave here, I sincerely hope he never reads any of this. Then again, he raised five children. It might not faze him.
-
Trust me: I'm sure Paul has seen much worse than what we do here.

I think that I found out this place is better moderated than facebook and myspace put together. Paul , does , i think look at what is being said and uses subtletys to let us know he has love doris

The one screenplay I am mentioning was one just released this past spring. It was aweful and if the writer had gotten the character right and not twisted it all around and made it so menacing it would have been okay. It was a real life situation but only the main character was the 'crazy person.' All the other characters were perfect citizens. I am the friend. I am the 'person' in the movie and I am glad it is all out in the open now. I am a writer, but I would never do what that writer did to a person. The writer knows who they are. That is all I have to say.

They have real legal teams that understand the word 'libel.'
