And now the time is near....

Might have to take the 8 year old with me....so no imbibing at The Cavern.... Last time I was there I was slightly pished after going for a lunchtime drink and getting caught up in Wednesday's live Beatles music.....1 pm I entered and it was dark when I left....hic!

It will still be a grand time I'm sure! Take it as it comes and make the best of it. I wish I could be there during Beatles week!

It is something every Beatle fan has to do once....go to the old city.....Matty Street, The Grapes, The Philharmonic, The Cavern, LIPA, Forthlin Road, Mendips and The Magical Mystery Tour bus.....etc etc. My son's excited, but he don't know how much walking's going to be involved yet..... The Cavern music scene is very good, the three solo singers I saw were flipping brilliant that day.

Speaking of Beatles weekend, I just saw the most ridiculous thing. The Liverpool Echo (the city's newspaper) has a special cover to honor the 50th anniversary of the Beatles this weekend. And guess what the image is: An Imagine Peace cover designed by Yoko Ono. Does Liverpool not know that: 1. Imagine is NOT a Beatles song. 2. Yoko is not a flipping Beatle 3. The 5oth anniversary of the Beatles should maybe, just possibly be about ... THE BEATLES?? How does Imagine Peace reflect the contributions of John, Paul, George or Ringo working together as a group? Good god, this is annoying.

Simmer down now, before ya' say something dramatic. But Michelley is right: That is ridiculous.

Glad you added that 2nd sentence!

Joko has orchestrated this John IS The Beatles thing since 1980....or even further back. But there again she's making shed loads of money out of it. For John's memory or for Joko's bank account? The shrieking one has probably arranged with the Liverpool Echo to do this. Remember it's our fault, we should all know by now that.....JOHN IS THE BEATLES! The rest are his session players. At least this is what Joko seems to want everyone to believe......and people wonder why Paul is not rated here, when journos in the boys hometown can't get it right.... :
-
Ok, sorry to lose it there. But that stupid cover "design" pushed me over the edge. I fired off several indignant emails to the pathetic Liverpool Echo. Nothing about that cover was about the Beatles. And that idiotic newspaper is drooling all over Yoko, proudly crowing about her "tribute to the Beatles." That is a tribute to Yoko. If she'd wanted to create a tribute to the Beatles, she would have designed a cover ABOUT THE BEATLES. God this ticks me off.
-
And this is where a lot of Paul's career problems and reputation have come from....a subtle, 40 year, character assassination by JOKO! He's been well and truly stuffed by the shrieking one over the years....if this had been about Paul I wouldn't have ben surprised....but I am surprised that this time she's trodden on The Beatles like this. It's the Beatles 50th you daft old shrieking goat!!
-
And yet Paul, rarely went at her. Paul is truly about peace and love.
-
He was too nice really, and now it's too late.....if he tries to put his version (the truth) out there he gets his ass whipped. Sadly, I think it'll stick for ever. And don't forget it was Joko that invented peace and love.....thank her next time you see her...
-
He was/is nice, that speaks volumes about him. I don't think it's ever too late

Surprising sort of...because usually Yoko never even mentions the Beatles. Paul is the holder of that torch. She thinks John started after the Beatles. EVERY interview Paul does is beatle me this & beatle me that. Not Yoko. Never. oh & we actually do not know what he says behind closed doors about her.
-
oh I think we would know, lol. Yoko not one to keep things to herself.
-
I said we don't know what he says...Paul not yoko.
-
oh, I'm sorry I thought you meant what he says to her behind closed doors. lol. what he says amongst friends, who knows. but I have a feeling there would be "friends" that would speak out.
