Mod Post We've been asked to consider recent exchanges in this thread. There are feisty back and forwards between members of opposite opinions, each making specific references to each others posts. However we cannot see any derogatory content worthy of moderation. Thanks for the great job you do Martin. This place would implode without you at the helm, expertly steering it away from choppy waters! *high five*

I watched the Olympics and it was not very good. I remember Bob Geldof once saying if you're going to feck it up, you might as well do it in front of millions of people! lol. Paul even laughed himself Hope he puts it behind him, learns from it and moves on.

Paul will put it behind him, but i'm not sure he'll learn from it sadly.

You two Brits who just disagreed with me, you're hopeless hard heads with no chance of ever getting through to you, looks like. When will you stop bringing us more enthusiastic, positive fans down (or trying to, rather) ? Brief appearances at huge events on the telly, however executed, are not nearly enough to tarnish the resplendent glories of Macca's overall legend and career. All his towering achievements remain as a matter of public record which can be explored and enjoyed by any who desire to investigate him and his music. They will be gobsmacked, and enthralled. All his potential to do more great things soon and in the future, remains. No fleeting telly appearance can doom that exhilarating probability.
seeing as the moderators accept this kind of language,i can only throw this one back at you susy. infact ive been informed by PM from a higher source it is infact a compliment you may consider yourself an amazing ,enthusiastic, positive fan on here but believe me many see you and others like you the exact same way i see you....unlike you though i will not resort to minor insults even if it is sanctioned. i will continue to fight for honesty and freedom of opinion about my favourite artist against the wishy washy tirade of verbal treacle.

be careful...this kind of opinion will not be tolerated on here and im not kidding.....the tin of whitewash is already empty..pauls office and his american positivity club have decreed that paul was brilliant.

Yeah...why was the rest of this thread straightened up but Susy's post stuck around?

Susy, while I agree with you about the two appearances not tanking Paul's career, they weren't really "resplendent glories" on the level of Paul's studio work. They were pretty poor, to say the least. I love Paul, want him to continue touring, want him to keep making music, but he also has some mis-steps, too. I don't know that someone admitting that he isn't always perfect is really deserving of them being called "hard heads" or any other names, to be honest. Let's keep it professional and not turn on each other.

Oh, whoops--didn't see your post, Lazy! ops: I'm not trying to gang up on you, Susy, just tossing in my two cents.

because i was told by PM by the board admin that it was infact a compliment towards me..he even offered a dictionary style definition of the word 'hardheads' although he surprisingly failed to mention the word 'hopeless' which clearly came directly before it.!.. perhaps i have underestimated the lengths some people will go against me on here........make no mistake,if i had used those words i would be immediately reprimanded.

thanks 'wally' and thanks 'wix'....its nice to know that there are some fair minded middle men/women on here who have no hidden agenda either way.

Suzy, I agree, these two outings will not change his place in history and in most people's hearts and minds. His career is full of towering achievements and no career is without its missteps. It makes him (and us) human.

I wouldn't refer to them as "towering achievements" , but I also don't think that in the long run they will matter much. Of course, we're all Americans who haven't been hearing what the UK folks have had to, and having been paying attention to some radio programs, journals, magazines, and newspapers in the UK after the Olympics, Paul is not being greeted with open arms for this or the Jubilee performance.

Exactly! So, you do admit that they were not amongst his best performances? And Lazy...I'm here for all.
-
Wix, what are you trying to prove amd what does my post have to do with Lazy. Paul has made some mistakes everyone has, it's not that big a deal

I'm sorry to jump in here, but why are you going after Wix, exactly?
-
Because he jumped on me. And the towering achievements were all the quality material, performances etc etc he has done in his decades long career
-
DennyC:
Because he jumped on me.
: How exactly? ETA: He agreed with you, and also asked you a question. How is that "jumping on you"?
-
How exactly, "so you do admit..." was I on trial?
