I’m glad when I saw him in May of 1976, he did not have the mustache and his hair was longer! Like this:

I have to say that as brilliant as the last night of the 75/76 world tour at Wembley was, the concert was slightly marred by Paul sporting that mustache and making himself look a little less like Paul McCartney.

Oh I think he looks great either with or without the mustache, but at that time I think he only had it for a little while and then it was gone... don't think he's grown a mustache or beard since... well maybe 1 short time in the early '80s, but don't think it lasted long either. So maybe he (or Linda) really didn't like the mustache that much after all. Still think he looked handsome with it though.

I liked it a lot in late 1966, early 1967:
Not so much late 1976:
Btw, it was the Empire Pool he played in London in Oct. 1976. Is it now called Wembley?

Paul as a Boy Scout - what a face!

I usually don't care for the moustache
without the beard.

He was so cute Think there's a recent photo where he's making the same expression!

That's the photo I was thinking of, when mentioning I thought he had a mustache in the early 1980s... looks like he had a bit of beard stubble too!

Yes,it was still the Empire Pool, Wembely back in 1976, the name still sticking I believe from the days when it was a swimming pool for sporting events. Then it became the Wembley Arena and nowadays its the SSE Arena, Wembley. I'm not sure if its the same building though. The original may have been demolished and rebuilt.

This was taken Apr. 5, 1967 in Denver, CO (where Jane was with her acting troupe) on Jane’s 21st birthday. Her mom, Margaret is to Paul’s left. Paul doesn’t look too happy. Side note: he shaved his mustache a couple weeks later and went to pick her up at the airport when her tour was over.
-
After meeting her at the airport: (you know what? I think this pic is from a later date in 1967, as his hair is much longer.) There is another photo out there of them at the airport in later Apr. ‘67.
-
Here’s one I had not seen before, at the premiere of How I Won The War, Oct. 18, 1967:

Love the Jane and Paul photos! They always looked lovely together, but don't think their relationship would have worked out in the long run, because she didn't want to give up her acting career, and seems like Paul was looking for someone who was more interesting in creating a home life and family.
Speaking earlier of Paul's mustaches and beards, this photo was posted on Linda's official instagram today. Caption says it was taken in 1969, in Portugal, but they also took a trip to Portugal in the fall of 1968 when he had a beard like this.
-
The trip to Portugal was to Hunter Davies’ home in December 1968. Linda got pregnant with Mary then.
Unsuccessful so far finding pic taken of them there.

There's a photo of Paul & Linda on this holiday at the bottom of this article. Incidentally the Paul & Jane photo at Heathrow airport was taken on 29th May 1967.
