Yes, you have to change the photo(s) to a link after quoting, but before you post your response. There is supposed to be a size limit on quoting a photo. In other words, if it was originally a small enough photo, the actual photo could be quoted and seen. Now it appears no photos can be re-posted.
There was a size limit on quoting? I thought that was just for posting.
Yes, I distinctly remember that if you quoted and commented on a smaller photo, especially if it was b&w, it would be allowed. But not anymore!
-
There is a very easy way to solve the quoted images issue, but someone with access to the admin control panel has to do it.

Paul & Keith Paul & Maggie

Is there a current pic of Maggie? I think we had one here at one time of Francine...funny to think of all the ones that lost him.

Thanks for posting all the great photos yesterday, oobu! Wondered if he was wearing a ladies/girls swimming cap in the 1983 photo.. looks like he could be. We never hear that much about women wearing swimming caps anymore unless they're professional athletes in swim meets, etc. Also, the photo of him wearing a red jacket, with orange sleeves and tie... wondered if that could have been taken prior to the Kansas City opening of Wings' New World Tour... Orange and Red are the official colors of Arrowhead Stadium (home of the Kansas City Chiefs) where Paul was set to play at the opening concert of the tour on May 31, 1993... could be a promo photo for the tour maybe? I know he liked to wear silly outfits sometimes, just for fun, especially around Mardi Gras time, so don't know for sure of course.
-
That red jacket was a Christmas outfit. I'll try to find it again. I think there were a few others.

This is an old article, so the pic at the end is not current, but gives you some idea what she might look like today. http://sentstarr.tripod.com/beatgirls/mcgiv.html

[quote="HaileyMcComet"] Paul & Maggie Maggie my dear though I spend my days in conversation Please Remember me Maggie my love Don't forget me Maggie my dear. Hold you head up you silly girl Look what you've done When you find yourself In the thick of it Help yourself to a bit Of what is all around you. Silly girl Take a good look around you Take a good look you're bound to see That you and me were meant to be for each other. Maggie my dear you have always been My inspiration Please Be good to me Maggie my love Don't forget me Maggie my dear. Despite the name change, does anyone seriously think that Paul was addressing a mutt in this song? lol

Wow. Maggie was stunning. I believe Paul wrote Maggie Mae as a tribute to her.

Maggie Mae is an old traditional Liverpudlian folk song about a prostitute! Google it!

Hmmm...very interesting theory!

According to Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martha_My_Dear
Origins The title "Martha My Dear" was inspired by McCartney's Old English Sheepdog, named Martha. McCartney has said that the song itself is probably about his longtime love interest Jane Asher. Asher broke off their engagement in mid-1968. McCartney chides her with the lyrics in the song "...when you find yourself in the thick of it, help yourself to a bit of what is all around you..." Asher inspired many of McCartney's songs, including "Here, There and Everywhere", "I'm Looking Through You", "For No One" and "We Can Work It Out". (A later "Martha" lyric explains, "You have always been my inspiration..." McCartney has also said that the song is about his "muse"--the voice in his head that tells him what words and music to write.)
Wikipedia also says the song was recorded on October 4, 1968, which was after he met and spent time with Linda. It's possible there's a little bit about all three women (Jane, Maggie and Linda) in the song.

I should have included the: 'Hold your hand out you silly girl, see what you've done.' line as its the big give away since British dogs have paws and not hands. !!! Personally I do think Paul wrote the song as 'Maggie My Dear' but by the time he recorded it, he was already shacked up / cohabiting with Linda . Paul then decided to fudge any potential problems so early in their relationship by switching Maggie to Martha. Once it was recorded and released, that was it. Paul made pretty sure he wasn't going to draw any further attention to the song by playing it live for example.
