@njr the name Macca comes from Liverpool England, over there everyone had nicknames, have you not read about it?
Ffs, what brought this up? We were talking about Paul writing his name - PAUL - on a name tag! I know heâs been called Macca practically forever and that lots of McCs and Macs get called Macca in the U.K. Iâve read every blooming thing about Paul and the Beatles.
I have about 150 Beatles-related books Iâve collected since 1964.The only time I ever heard John call Paul "Macca" was on the "Anthology".
Me too, but from what Iâve heard fairly recently, heâs been called Macca since he was in school (what we here would call âgrade schoolâ which is Kindergarten through 6th grade when I was a kid.) Now it ends at 5th grade and you go to âmiddle schoolâ 6th-8th, then âhigh schoolâ is 9th-12th) When I was 12 I entered âjunior highâ in 7th grade and then in the middle of 9th grade they moved us all to the high school! It was close enough that we literally WALKED with our books to the building!
" Macca" is quite a common nickname, here in the UK, for anybody who's surname is "Mc". "McCartney". "McTavish". "Mcthis". "Mcthat"
Thatâs what I just said above in this conversation. (you have to open the whole thing up)

I believe this photo was taken at the Let It Be sessions.
See wandy, the Mod deleted the photo you quoted. Thatâs what I was talking about in the other thread,
Blimee!! Its worse than Russia in this forum!! Talk about, Back In The U.S.S.R. If I disappear over night you know they removed me!! Too!!
I know, itâs a ridiculous rule because for example, if you see a photo you want to quote and comment on, nobody knows which photo youâre talking about!
Did they remove it completely? Or just put it in another section of the forum? My friend, lilwillow, is putting my Savile Row photos ( I mentioned them earlier today. They are from 1977) in the "Yesterday" section of Maccaboard. I couldn't do it. Files "too big". Lilwillow works her magic on them. Whatever you do don't reference them!! "DONT PRESS THE BUTTON"

@oobu24 Iâm sorry, but I have to say that the last photo you posted, he looks horrible! We all have our bad days, but why would he allow this photo to get out there on the internet?!

@oobu24
Where did you find these? Is he testing his sad eyes? Or is he just trying to figure out how the new maccaboard works? -

There was an old picture of Paul that I can't find again. I don't know where I saw it, it might have been on the internet, but I have a vague memory that I was browsing through a large book filled with photographs of Paul and Linda etc. It was a soft cover book but it was large-sized like the kinds of books that have music scores, and fairly thick as well. And I think this must have been about over 20 years ago maybe even in the late 90s. The photo itself may have been from the 70s or 80s, since he looked about that young (if my murky memory is any reliable guide). And I think I was standing in a music store where I had seen it, just standing there browsing through it. I should have purchased it, but I didn't, or at least take a note of its title.
No doubt there were many interesting pictures in that book, but one I'd like to see again, and I wonder if any of you might know where it is. It's likely that any given picture in that particular book could be replicated in other places. Anyway after all that description let me describe the actual photo. It was just Paul and he's sitting there, it seems he's sitting outside, and he's looking at the camera. I think it might have been black and white, though I'm not sure. What's out of the ordinary are a couple of details: he's wearing some kind of a cowboy outfit, that has cowboy frills all up and down the sleeves with the jacket and I think down the leggings of the pants, and it's probably made of suede not leather. Another interesting detail is that he's looking at the camera with a kind of annoyed look and his eyes almost look like they're tearing up, and he almost looks like a little boy who is petulantly peevish because he has to sit for a portrait in his Sunday best. It's like Linda caught him at an unguarded moment.
That's the best way I can describe his look at the camera. I also dimly recall that, even though he had a full cowboy getup on, he was barefoot and one leg was crossed over the other -- not jackknifed as we say in America but with the ankle bone of one leg atop the knee of the other producing the leg at right angles.
Does that ring a bell with anyone here?

@njr They are screen shots someone took from the video Paul posted on his FB, Twitter, etc when Charlie Watts passed. He was obviously upset/sad about his passing.
