As a huge Star Trek (and Paul) fan, this is priceless!Love that! lol I guess Paul was a huge Star Trek fan too! I posted photos last year of him with Gene Roddenberry (see below), when Gene attended a "Wings" rehearsal. I guess at one time Paul was interested in developing a sci fi movie project and had approached Gene about developing the story and writing the screenplay. At another time he also contacted Ray Bradbury. The story that Ray Bradbury developed for Paul was published as a short story, will have to search again and find the name of it. It's also been dramatized as a radio play.
Paul also is a huge fan of the new Star Trek movies.. there's a video of him meeting with Chris Pine and the other stars of the franchise, during commercial breaks at a past Golden Globes broadcast.

Paul in 1964 during Twist and Shout:
You're welcome, Nancy! I guess Gene Roddenberry's assistant, Susan Sackett, said that the story Paul wanted Gene to write involved an inter-galactic rock band competition or something...

SACKETT: I have no idea whatever happened to that. It's probably stuck in a file, like the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark. Paul contacted him and was a Star Trek fan. He invited us to a concert, which was great, and we met backstage. Paul hired Gene to write a story about the band and it was a crazy story. Paul gave him an outline and Gene was supposed to do something with it. It was bands from outer space and they were having a competition. Gene was open to things at this point; Star Trek wasn't happening and he wasn't getting his scripts produced, but he had a family to feed. Gene began working on it and it was about the time they started talking about bringing back Trek, so he never got to complete anything for Paul."
Need to correct that it was Isaac Asimov, not Ray Bradbury, that did another screenplay treatment for Paul, which he later had published as a short story called "Five and Five and One". It was supposed to be a science-fiction movie musical. Paul made the outline of the story about a rock band whose members discover they are being impersonated by a group of extraterrestrials. The band and their impostors were supposed to be played by Paul and Linda and the members of "Wings". Some college students adapted the story into a radio play and it's on YouTube

Love the photos with the bass! The second one kind of reminds me of the little high kick he always does, at the end of the bridge of "Love Me Do" . To paraphrase Yankeefan, Paul is the Bassman!
