I'm the opposite, actually...I love live albums but live concert DVDs bore me...I buy them but I'd be lying if I said I watched them more than 1 or 2 times over the course of many years.
I saw Rockshow on the big screen so I am looking forward to this one. Paul has changed the way he does his concert DVDs. I do find them boring and no longer buy them. Not enough attention to Paul and the music for me.

next thing is, why is it labeled as paul mccartney & wings. the original was a wings only album, though the band was wings?
I guess the marketing guys were concerned that there are potential customers out there who don't realise (or have simply forgotten) that Paul McCartney was once a member of Wings? Live audio albums bore me so I'm not bothering with this release but I am looking forward to the Rockshow blu-ray.

I think you're missing out. Concert DVDs can be awesome experiences if you do it the right way: At night with all the lights out -- and a decent audio-system. Just like being there. Beer helps, too.

Audi is right. Concert DVDs lose their appeal if you're listening through your crappy TV speakers instead of a dcenet 5.1 Home Theater system.

Just saw the British Official Charts: Wings Over America is No. 36! I'm shocked. I didn't think it would chart that high at all. Reissues rarely do. For example, The Stone Roses highly acclaimed debut album got reissued last week too and it only reached No. 80. Here's how the WOA chart position compares to the chart positions on the BOC of Paul's other reissues. Band on the Run Reissue charted the highest: No. 17. Ram: No. 41 McCartney: No. 88 McCartney II: No. 108 So this is damn good. There was hardly any publicity for this reissue, too. So YAY!! to all the British Wings fans. Fyi, for anyone interested. The Billboard charts go up next Thursday. Here's how Paul's previous reissues did on the Billboard 200: Band on the Run: No. 29 Ram: No. 24 McCartney: No. 50 McCartney II: No. 82

That's a very good UK chart placing # 36 for WOA much higher than I thought It will be very interesting to see how high the next Wings reissues do on the chart , I suspect the Wings albums are going to perform much better than his solo albums . I've never really understood why Paul has never released a decent Wings Greatest Hits Package it would sell by the shed load .

I'm lucky i have a nice 5.1 system to listen to my DVD's on as it makes a vast difference to the experience as you say.

Even the bootleg DVDs sound very decent on a good system. AND...they don't usually include all the affidavits.

Ever heard of a Used Record store? They will usually give you cash or trade for your old records and CDs. Even McCartney!

Me either! people would be crazy to give these up! You can actually find used copies of the original vinyl for under $10, I'm amazed by that. I guess because so many copies of it were pressed (and sold!) at the time. I mean I bought a pristine copy for $6, crazy! I'm still questioning whether I'll like the sound of the new one better than the original. only one way to find out, but I'm procrastinating.

I was a little disapointed at the quality of Wings Over World footage. I know material is old but so is Rockshow and trailer seems much greater quality of that. I mean, this is DELUXE set and did cost a lot of money, so they should have make EVERYTHING high quality.

Okay, now that makes sense! I've been listening to the remastered CDs in my car and OMG Paul's bass is so fantastically upfront--especially love it on 'Time To Hide'!! Even though Denny sings that one, my God I had to take a cold shower after imagining 1976 Paul playing that bassline!! ops:

Spirits of Ancient Egypt - wow, the sound is so powerful and defined. The remastering is fantastic! It's like the recordings have truly come to LIFE. I'm hearing all kinds of stuff I never heard before on the original.
that's one of my fave parts on WOA...The Band JUST ROCKS!
