makes you wonder what people will do with their original copies
Mine is the original vinyl, so I'll never give it up!
Ever heard of a Used Record store? They will usually give you cash or trade for your old records and CDs. Even McCartney!
Didn't I just say I would never give it up?
Actually I was talking to the poster you replied to. ops:
Okay, now that makes sense! I've been listening to the remastered CDs in my car and OMG Paul's bass is so fantastically upfront--especially love it on 'Time To Hide'!! Even though Denny sings that one, my God I had to take a cold shower after imagining 1976 Paul playing that bassline!! ops:
Beware My Love did it for me. YESYESYES!
I knew you'd get this! I believe I was yelling OH GOD! OH GOD!
Wow, I'm getting turned on over here
-
well back to topic i got mine finally today the standard edition od course and i got it at target of all places lol for a good cheap price

Meanwhile, the HitsDailyDouble site indicates that WOA will debut at #20 in the U.S. Their chart does not exactly track Billboard's album chart, but it's usually close. Does any know how the Ram reissue charted?

I'll quote from my own post last week:
Michelley:
Just saw the British Official Charts: Wings Over America is No. 36! Here's how the WOA chart position compares to the chart positions on the UK charts of Paul's other reissues. Band on the Run Reissue charted the highest: No. 17. Ram: No. 41 McCartney: No. 88 McCartney II: No. 108 Here's how Paul's previous reissues did on the Billboard 200: Band on the Run: No. 29 Ram: No. 24 McCartney: No. 50 McCartney II: No. 82
So if WOA is at No. 20 that would be the best-performing reissue so far on the Billboard chart. Personally I find that odd, since Ram and Band on the Run are both brilliant. But WOA was a very popular live album back in the day. It's also amazing it's done so well since there has been so little promotion. That's great.

Totally not odd at all in my world. All in all its probably the best album wings released, and its the one where remastering could make the biggest positive difference. Just judging by my own interest, it's the only one I'm considering buying.

The deluxe edition came to me on Monday . I think this is the best reissue from the archive collection I love the bass on all of the tracks. Paul is a genius
-
DON'T buy at Barnes & Noble! I bought it there just because I knew they are pretty good about carrying the re-issues and I didn't want to wait for it to be shipped to me. I paid $23 after tax for the standard edition. What a stooge I am! ops: Oh well, at least I have the album!
-
I thought Rolling Stone or Q would be doing reviews on WOA. Or have interviews from Paul and Denny Have I missed them? Or are they still to come

*When you consider the remastered WOA has next to "no" promotion/publicity, hitting in at #22 is very good. Stopping at my local convenience store every morning for coffee, I always check the New York/Philadelphia newpapers and the national papers (i.e. USA Today and Wall Street Journal). I haven't seen any article/review on WOA. I would think that USA Today might still run a prominent article about Paul at some point (pop-rock critic, Edna Gunderson) tying his tour and the WOA Rerelease. Maybe the fact that he is appearing in Brooklyn this weekend, might generate some publicity. Maybe WOA might have "legs" over the next few weeks also with the release of the Rockshow DVD. Since Rockshow is so good, it might cause additonal CD Sales especially considering that WOA is only $14.99 Hopefully, the younger generations (born in the 70's and beyond) will hear WOA or see Rockshow and get into one of the greatest live albums/concerts ever.
