I still can't stop thinking about this concert, and how incredibly lucky I was to stand within a metre of him for all that time. Strangely, he seemed to look even younger closer up. His baby face seemed very defined up close. God, I'll just never forget it. Unfortunatley, I HAVE had to wash my hand since he touched it! But I've got his guitar pick in a frame with all my concert tickets, and incredible memories.
Aaah that is soo lovely.. Sounds like an incredible gig.

Hey guys, Last week I was one of the lucky few to get tickets for Paul?s 100 club gig. I thought it would be a good opportunity to try and get an autograph, so I had this idea:
I held up my iPad during the show, he saw it and was well humoured about it. I guess he couldn?t just stop a gig to try and sign it. The whole thing was featured on the BBC, NME, The Telegraph, Daily Mail to name a few: So, if there is someone out there reading this (a fan, someone from Paul?s crew, maybe the man himself, who knows?) I need your help to try and get the iPad to Paul. If you can help I would be very, very, very thankful. I live in London but I can send this device anywhere in the world to get Paul to sign it. Thank you all, hope you had a great time at the recent gigs, Ricardo -
What a brilliant idea! Hope you can track Paul down & get his siggie.
-
thank you I hope I can too. Hopefully someone out there who can help will read this. I will literally send the iPad to China if that is what it takes. By the way, I got a few videos from the gig that I haven't uploaded (apart from the ones people already linked to here on this thread). If you guys want I can upload them. cheers

You should write to the people that have Macca related web sites. Jorie at Maccareport.com and Steve at the examiner. Wouldn't hurt to get more sites involved. Especially since Paul said that he'd do it!
-
Thanks for the suggestion. Doing it right now. Fingers crossed!

Ah the iPad fan! I was standing near you at the 100 Club gig and when I heard him talking about it at Hammersmith, I instantly thought of you! Hope you can get it signed, he certainly got a kick out of it.
-
Ah yes, we got a picture of you!! Haha! Good luck getting it to Paul, I reckon he'll be telling the 'cigarette box -> ipad' story for a long time to come!! http://tinypic.com/r/710axu/7

@hihopes guessing you are one of the girls that were in front of me! I remember you taking the picture! @harleyblues funny indeed. Got a bit surreal when I noticed he was going to talk about me at the hammersmith gig. Took me at least 5 songs to get back from a catatonic state.
-

It was my friend who was snapping all the pictures, I just get the benefit of looking back on them when I get home, but having my hands and eyes free for the concert!! Such a shame he didn't get the chance to sign it at the time - I really hope you get it to him somehow!

everyone, thank you for the support...any ideas are very welcome! @rrrich I think its your voice in the hammersmith video (very low, saying you were near us at the 100 club), isn't it?

haha, probably. i spoke to one of your friends as paul was recounting the story at hammersmith. given the number of people at hammersmith, it was funny to be standing next to people who were also at the 100 club and right by me then too!

I ended up standing with the same people at Hammersmith as I did at the 100 Club too! It's a small world, eh?!

Amazing reading all the reports of the gig at the 100 club, as well as seeing the videos. Wow, such a small room! But I have one question: is the "Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying" he's doing his own song (from the "Tripping the Live Fantastic" album) or the Gerry and the Pacemakers song? I suspect the former, but I wouldn't mind hearing Macca do the latter either. Always liked that Pacemakers tune.

The "Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying" that Paul did on TTLF is actually a cover version of a Ray Charles song.

Thanks. I didn't know that. Just assumed it was one of his own.
