Picked up the 2CD Flaming Pie reissue today at Target. 17 bucks!! And worth every penny. Ha. Was never a huge fan of Flaming Pie, just not enough rockers, but still a solid album. The original album sounds brighter on the reissue. The home demo's and rough recordings are fine, but IMO, just not that interesting. BUT, five new songs placed on the second CD, Whole Life, Looking For You, Love Comes Tumbling Down, Broomstick, and Same Love are simply fab. Whoa. Could of easily replaced several songs on the original Flaming Pie and made it a semi-masterpiece. Oh well.
Love Comes tumbling down is a great song - criminally underrated and under used . It was however recorded 10 years before Flaming pie . I don't think it was a true contender unless it was remade like Beautiful Night ?

Ok , maybe I haven't scrolled back far enough , but I'm surprised that there has been no chat about the pricing ? I have all the deluxe boxes except wings over America and wildlife . I would dearly love the uber collection of Flaming Pie - but at over £500 ?! Come on ! I paid less than 3 times this for my Car
The fact is that the top two versions of this are waaaay out of my budget range . £250 for the second biggest box ? None of the earlier archive boxes were close to this in price when I bought them .
Sadly , for an album I love - it's the 2 cd version just ordered on Amazon for £12.99 for me
Thats the odd thing . The 2 cd version is outstanding value ?!

There were a few places in the states that had good prices. Some of us went with Udiscover that had ithe deluxe for $153.60. A few other places had it for around $190.00.

That's good , but the collectors edition !

UDiscover Music, which is where I got my deluxe version for $162.81 (£124.55) has the Collector's edition for $600 (£459) But then when I switched to the U.K. store prices, they were listed at £250 and £520! You can't get the deluxe for as low as I did - it was a special deal at 25% off to start and then another 20% off with a special code.
Amazon U.S. has the deluxe for $216.50 (£165.63) The U.K. Amazon isn't even selling the deluxe edition!

I got one email saying it would be shipped on or around July 31st. Haven't received it yet.

Although I don't particularly love the album I do fully share your sentiments. The 2 cd version is terrific value and as such casts a suspicious shadow over the pricing of everything else. Considering the manufacturing costs of all the cds, blu rays, vinyl, books etc put together probably doesn't total much more than £25, the asking price of £500 is just taking the ....wee wee.

oh yeah...that was the original email about your order.

UDiscover had the Collector's Edition on sale for $330 something but just for a day or 2. It's gone now. But I know a lot of people that took advantage of it at that price.

Yes, I ordered from them. I'm the one that told you when they were back in stock. No I haven't heard anything from them. No one I know has heard from them. But some people that bought the collector's box just last week got it already.

For some reason I am unable to download those Flaming Pie songs off paulmccartney.com onto my iPad. I guess I'll try my laptop tomorrow.

Five hundred bucks for this?!! No way, LOL. I've got the original "Flaming Pie" cd, and can hear the extras online, I guess. I just don't have that kind of dough to shell out on this. I'd like to get the Target two cd special.
I watched the charming making of Flaming Pie video. It bothered me Paul didn't wear a life jacket on his Sun Fish on that vast lake. Seems reckless or at least careless although he was being filmed at the time. It was poignant, saddening to see Linda in this and know that's the last album she contributed her vocals to, though I know they wouldn't want us to be downcast but to celebrate her memory and rejoyce she was here.

The deluxe edition is less. I'll copy & paste what I wrote below:

Hello,
I apologize for the shameless plug again. Two days ago,my review of the Flaming Pie Archive Collection Deluxe Edition was published online. The link to the review is below.
I listened to both the original 1997 FP and the remastered 2020 FP with headphones. The remastered version has a warm sound to it, which is good. I'm not an audio technical expert , but I like the sound. The songs are still great, 23 years later. BTW, I still have my Club Sandwich original FP issue hiding in a box in the house.
