Status Quo slammed Sir Paul's behavious at Live 8 concert
-
Now I know why Status quo lashed out on Paul, they needed the Pr to promote their appearance on the british TV show Coronation Street. Now it makes sense to me. I read about it in Hello. Appear in a awareness raising concert or a tv show in a dream sequence. They got their priorities straight. Not

their music is nothing compared to paul's songs so they have no right to slam paul because their music is nothing but bunch of shit. ...oops i hurt a status quo fan. sorry!

Who is status co???????? some boy band?
-
Juliana, Status Quo é uma banda bem famosa dos anos 60.
-
they should have picked anybody else but paul McCartney... he is the reason why every musican was there... I missed the begining of the show but watched all the musicans doing great.....and when Pink floyd was there I wished that Paul will be after that and I went crazy when he appeared.... it was the first time for me to see him playing at the same time I was watching ......he was so so great .....I clapped and shouted for him like a teenager ....though I was thousands miles away.. sorry for status quo..they deserve a song of course but they shouldn't compare themselves or anybody to Paul...it's like hitting their heads on the wall
-
Glad you got to see the show Ammar.

Really? I kinda thought it was because of the poverty and AIDS issues that sort of what brought them all together that day.

Status Quo performed at the first concert. Songs include Caroline and Rockin All over the world.

It will all be over in a few days how many artists argue with eachother is beyond me why cant we just all be friends

Quo were wrong to critise Paul - his contributions raised Live8 to another level and he more than made up for some of the lousy live 'in' bands and solo acts that were in the line up. I'm not a big fan of Status Quo - they're a bit like the Rolling Stones they found a formula some years back and stuck with it same riffs same progressions same type songs - after a couple of songs it gets a bit boring. That said they ARE a good live act and would have added a much needed touch of humour and good tight crowd pleasing rock n roll to proceedings. Some of the acts on Live 8 sounded like complete amatuers and weren't very good live. Also they are one of the UK most succesful acts no matter how unfashionable they may be QUO have sold over 110 million singles and albums. They have had 55 hit singles, 22 of them making the Top Ten. Combined, they have spent over 7½ years in the chart. Quo have had more hit albums in the UK than any other band except The Beach Boys and The Rolling Stones. 25 of those albums have made the Top 20, including four No.1's, four No.2's, four No.3's, two No.4's and two No.5's. 1992's Rocking All Over The Years hits compilation sold 100,000 copies in 10 days, and stayed in the British album chart for six months. ANother act snubbed by Geldof was Cliff Richard whos had more hits in the UK than anyone apart from ELvis Presley and he does just as much charitble work as Paul and is just as eager to contribute to good causes- I guess he was snubbed because hes unfashionable and isn't big in the United States. My guess is Geldof picked artists that would go down well in the US and were part of his 60's orientated wishlist as well as having current artists that are in vogue. A lot of people here don't seem to have heard of 'the Quo' so I guess they're not that big outside the UK.

You are correct. I imagine status quo could sell out big venues in the UK and probably not get that many seats sold in the US. However Paul can get big tour sales wherever he goes. Not even sure if I have ever heard any of Status Quo's stuff. If I have, I would not know it was them. Sorry.

I love how the papers stir shit up so Hardcore fans can run a band down. Status Quo are always critisised by the media as an embarressment. I happen to be a fan of both Paul and Quo and i dont believe that Quo who's #1 Influence was The Beatles would say this. The papers always spread bullshit especially on the Showbiz news. I'm sorry but i dont believe anything in the papers it's all a load of bollocks, unless you have proof that Rossi has said this, then i would like it if you cut down on the slagging of Quo off. If an artist i liked including Paul got slammed i wouldnt abuse the other bloke until i really had reason too. PS: I can understand you being upset a lot of jealous artists have "ripped into Paul"
-
It sounds like their a little jelous of Paul's talent......and of course Paul is going to have the most stage time... he was the best musician there(and in the world) and everyone enjoyes listening to him, he did a great job at live 8, unlike some people there(Beyonce,Snoop Dogg, Green Day were all terrible, as usuall)

status quo and cliff richard are both acts that are legends in the uk, yet america doesn't know much about them. kinda like oasis, only from yesteryear. the thing is status quo are a decent band, but c'mon guys get over it. paul mccartney is a legend, you guys are nice tabloid fodder.
