Sounds like it was a GREAT !!!! show last night in Arizona ! Hope everyone going to the shows at the Hollywood Bowl have an amazing night
Yeah Dawn, it was a great show. .. it looked like the band were having fun, too. Looked for Jena in her "This way up" shirt but didn't spot her; I left mine in my friend's car, so won't have it on this trip afterall... next stop Hollywood!
Jena said she had an amazing night too Have a great time tonight disneykristi at the Hollywood Bowl And don't forget to give Brian a wave !!
Hi Dawn: Sorry for not posting sooner about the shows; I only got one hour of sleep on Wednesday night after the show before I had to catch the airport shuttle at 3:30am to LAX for my 6am flight, and then after landing went straight in to work for a full workday on Thursday and then again today... But I feel like I have been in some sleep-deprived, McCartney and Band induced trance for the last couple of days as a result --( actually, I recommend it highly, it's like really good drugs were supposed to be when I was young and foolish back in the day, but without the bad side effects...! And the flashbacks are actually something to look forward to... ) I sorta feel like I left part of my brain at the Hollywood Bowl. (The only unfortunate side effect is that I suspect that my boss thinks so too... ) It was a fabulous "tour-ette" to use Rusty's phrase; I have been lucky enough to be at a number of shows through the years, but the last 3 were ones that I will always remember. Everyone in the Band seemed really up for the shows, for the most part, and Paul was clearly having a great time at the Bowl, and us with him. What a special group of people. (I just have to send this out into the universe, for what it's worth: Thanks, guys wherever you are out there in Miami, for being so generous with your time and talents, and so giving in your performances to all of us.) Between the surprises and the laughs, it was an unforgettable memory. Kristi

Kristi, having seen all three (i was only at the second Bowl show) what is your reaction to Brian saying that second night, the 31st, is in his Top Five?? Did you notice anything different about Wednesday? It was just amazing. On the way out, crammed on the paths leading to the exit, the huge mass of people began singing Eight Days A Week surprisingly well.. great harmonies and tonality for a huge swarm of strangers.. i was impressed. Guess you didn't see me in my This Way Up shirt!??!

Hey there: Yeah, the 2nd Bowl show was special. It was just a really great day for me... we had so much fun at the sound check; we had been to one before, but this time.... Well, Paul can just be sooo funny, he's really a crack-up and he was in a goofy mood for some reason -- and it was contagious -- my friend and I just really sincerely got the giggles, and then in addition he played a couple of our favorite songs, as well. We had a great time in Phoenix -- it was the first time that we had started a tour, so we didn't have any clue what the setlist would be, and so each song was a relevation of sorts. And several were somewhat more than just surprising, at that, as you know. But as it was the first night, and I think that everyone was a little bit more tense; though, Rusty in particular, seemed to have a really "on" night. The first Hollywood Bowl night was great, too, as Paul seemed more relaxed than in Phoenix, and I actually thought that they gave the best rendition of "My Love" that I had seen them do, ever. It's not a favorite of mine as it reminds me too much of an "ex", but they really played it well that night. However, I had four tall guys in front of me, a couple of whom were taking a lot of photos, so I spent a lot of the night playing peer around the obstacle -- it just happens that way sometimes -- but for that reason it wasn't a total banner night for me, personally. But then on Wednesday, well... as I said, Paul had been in a good mood earlier in the day (the impish side of his personality was in play), so when they switched things up by trading out a few songs, they seemed to galvanize both themselves and the crowd. Also, everyone had expected rain and it didn't come, and then Brian seemed to have a sort of "on" night, as well, I thought, though he is always good, maybe it was just that I could actually see him that night, which is a definite plus for me I personally had a much better view, and the fun from earlier in the day just seemed to continue. The crowd was into it too... it was just really a moment when everything seemed to come together. I loved Ob-la-Di -- even Wix was grinning foolishly from ear to ear. I looked for people in their "This way up" tees, but didn't see you. I did meet Poodfor Paul and her buds in their tees, they were really, really nice...

Thanks so much for that luxurious recap, Kristi! Yeah, bands sometimes have a spontaneous cohesion that defies explanation..seems that is what Brian was referring to and what was in play that night. Hopefully the tour will come back, through the Bay Area, THEN we can wear our shirts and force multiply. I was way back up in the rear sections, but exactly in the middle of the Bowl, so i looked down the imaginary line that bisected the amphitheater.

Well, thanks for "luxurious" lol. ...but I suspect that "verbose" is more accurate. .. bad habit of mine when writing, not quite so bad in person. Yeah, Northern California dates would be great; at this point I couldn't. swing much else, really, but then last Fall I somehow found myself in Nova Scotia, so I'll never say never.. What did Brian say, anyway? I'm not really on Facebook.

Is Brian really 55? That's according to his Wikipedia page. That is unbelievable. If that's true, he looks amazing!
They do say when you're beautiful, older, it is because you earned it from the inside. He always reminds me of a butterfly, some spectacular creature who just goes around being constructive and spreading that great elevated vibration to everything below. But he went thru some metamorphosis, to deserve that. There are some great stories to him too He's a nonchalant hottie! where is he anyway...?? ops:
