Happy Ending is the most amazing tune... the tremelo guitar part is to die for and, in much the same way the so far unreleased single This Way Up is, Happy Ending is a tapestry of masterful guitar tones and textures... It's almost as if Brian were fluent in like 28 languages, the way he "converses" via guitar...
You've summed up ''Happy Ending'' so well Christopher It's such a great song ...i love too !

Beatle Barb, may i trust you will be at AT&T tomorrow night with us!?! IIRC, you're in Gilroy/Morgan Hill area? CalTrains should be a great way to get up there and back. Wonder if there will be any song surprises as Ram On was in UK.
-
I'll be wearing my Red This Way Up T shirt tomorrow night!

Who knows. He only played it at Hollywood and Phoenix so far but he did play it during the Glasgow soundcheck. It's an awesome song. Loved it from the beginning when I first heard it live last year.

Barb, we'll be on the field, in the second section of seats on the opposite side from Brian (unfortunately) i think section 13 or 15... i'll try to keep my red TWU shirt visible. I think my old dad is pretty excited.

Dawn, the girls and i cheered and laughed every time we saw Brian on the big screen, or when he did a solo or particular riff.. he is a consummate professional and appears to have a blast doing it. ILTY is one of my fave songs too!! Glad you saw it! Not that i'd kick And I Love Her out of bed for eating crackers. you probably saw i posted a link to a video of San Francisco Bay Blues... like to let everybody see the surprise songs, much like somebody posted YOUR Ram On! THE STADIUM WAS ENTIRELY PACKED. in addition to the stadium seats being completely filled, there were an extraordinary number of field seats..i saw some footage on YouTube last night from WAAAAAAAY up in the bleachers and you can see the scope and scale.

Brian was on fire - such a professional! And now I know why he stays in such good shape - all those guitar changes have him running around like wild. Thanks for everything, Brian

that, BeatleBarb and because those Les Pauls are so extremely heavy.. Brian was indeed on fire last night... it blows me away that he can do that and also have an entirely mindblowing CD about to come out

Great day and night! I had planned to wear my "This way up" shirt ,too, Christopher, but it was too bloody cold, so in the end I wore a red sweater instead. Had the best view of Paul that I have had at an actual concert in ages and I also thought that Paul and the Band seemed to make an extra effort to pump things up a notch last night. As a result nothing was lost by the technical difficulties, instead the Band seemed more attuned to each other than ever, if that is possible? (I think, Barb, that my friend Julie and I spoke to you while waiting to go into the soundcheck... I didn't make the connection before...?) I have some personal business to take care of today that I have been dreading for ages, but I know that you guys here will understand what I mean when I say that being there yesterday with the music, the humor, and the feelings of exaltation that always seem to come with these experiences I feel emboldened to face today . Today I feel really blessed to have had yesterday... No pun intended
