Instead of getting a cubicle desk at my new job, they gave me a pretty big office. Still in shock
Very happy too!
Movin on up! Congrats!
Thanks !
This is great! It must feel good.
Yes it does feel pretty good, especially closing the door when things get loud! It’s a great way head into retiring from the job!
I’m really smiling today, however, because I just got a new car!!! The old car, that gave me many years of dedicated service... made a sound like a trumpeting elephant when backing out of the driveway this week. Went straight to the mechanic who called me with it's immediate retirement notification a couple of hours later. Life is looking much happier than it has in a long time... I am very thankful
Oh, you must be feeling good right about now. New office AND a new car. Wow. And retirement around the corner. I'm heading that way, too. Paid off my car early, recently, and now I'm going to try to retire in October. Yay! It can't come soon enough.

My son just started a new job, full-time, M-F, no holidays, better pay with good benefits and close to his home (he was working at Target managing the electronics department, never getting enough hours, plus working weird hours and holidays, and driving 45 minutes!)

That’s great news about your retirement!!! Yay!
Feeling better than I have in a long long time! I was going to wait and retire next year, however, life is telling me why torture myself any more. I’ve wanted to work for the airlines and see the world for free. No one gives you a medal for sticking out and surviving a tough work environment. Time to start loving my life in a job that revolves around travel. I’m so happy even thinking about it!!!

Thanks, L2T. I agree. Life has a way of talking to us that way. I'm very much looking forward to retirement and traveling, too. Was thinking this morning about a trip I took a few years ago, so it's true about travel memories sticking with you.

There is a hint of green on the bushes, a hint of red where the red flowers grow, a hint of a light purple where the icicles formed on a cold winter's day ...as The lilacs await the warmer day... and when it arrives, so too will their beauty and fragrance fill the sweet smelling air ...
As for now they wait ...with but a hint ...
That makes me smile or at least a hint of a smile.

Congratulations to your son. Is that Target, the Minneapolis retail store?
I just started a new job, part time, lots of holidays, worse pay with no benefits, close to home. I used to get more than enough hours, worked weird hours, most holidays and the train took about an hour one way.

Yes, the famous Target! It is all over Georgia.
The only thing good about your new job seems to be that it is close to home! ️

Thanks so much, it will be January if I can stick it out!!! I just want to travel and go to concerts with my best friend and send postcards from exotic locations, to all those people who tried to drag me down. Haveing a good retirement is life’s best revenge. Smiling thinking about the postcards from Fiji in one of those huts over the water, then Bora Bora and Tahiti too!!! Working for the airlines and traveling for taxes is pretty smile worthy too!

What makes me SMiLE? I'm going to Tahiti with my Girlfriend love2travel!

This is slightly OT, but we were talking about redheads earlier and I came across this:
