if I was a casting director then Eddie Redmayn would have been my choice to play Mia Farrows original role, in 'The Great Gastby' remake, such is their delicate personas and mirror imaged looks. I think in the future this will happen for did not in the near past Shakespear role change his characters. it would lead for some interesting remakes me thinks.

Eddie Redmayne will play the first man to become a woman, from Scandinavia in the 1920s or 30s (his second Oscar coming up?). I can imagine him swanning around all decked out like a lady from back then. He's very sensitive, seems vulnerable. Yes, in Shakespeare's day, men played women's parts on stage. I forget why they wouldn't use female actors, must look that up. Wonder if the reason is sexist and offensive... We've enjoyed some Ricky Gervais comedies recently. That one about seeing dead people and the one about lying. Gervais boasts an appealing warmth and humor. I discovered he owns a home for the aged in the U.K. and performs there and loves helping the aged. I've liked that line of work myself, felt like I was really helping, usually although there were times I feel I should have tried more. I want to see the upcoming "Train Wreck" with Amy Shumer (although I fear she might say anything at all, like Jenny Slate did in "Obvious Child" which made me wince and cringe)--want to see "Aloha" with Bradley Cooper, Rachel McAdams, I think Emma Stone's in it too (?), "The Irrational Man" with Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone and Parker Posey, "Pitch Perfect 2" and a few others this summer. And "Welcome to Me" w/ Kristen Wigg and "Spy" with Melissa McCarthy

another actor springs to mind for a remake role of a woman Antony Banderas. he could play the part 'catwoman' such is his femmine feline sex appeal esp. in Desparado. the joker would be Vivienne Leigh ahhh that rare juxapposed bipolar persona. Ricky Gervaise rocks the old folks care home. he is so full of care especially for animals, everyone there knows hes REAL and that why they cover his mistakes (he called a human ambulance for an injured bird) and play wrestling with him before supper. even if it may be their Last. look forward to the new Joquain Pheonix film I love him extra special as Johnny Cash and flying aloft for his brother! xx

Just saw Tomorrowland with George Clooney. Tho it was a bit slow in the beginning, it got much better! Hope For The Future would have been the perfect song for the closing of the movie.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to open in London next year.

It was considered "unseemly" for a woman to be an actor (the term "actress" wasn't coined until 1700) http://www.theatreunbound.com/know/facts_shakespeare.shtml

Watched the movie "Funny People" (Adam Sandler/Seth Rogan) yesterday. Title song in it was "Great Day." Also, Adam Sandler sings a beautiful rendition of "Real Love." Also saw "Horrible Bosses 2" where Badfinger's song "No Matter What" was this guy's doorbell chime and it was played during the ending credits.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Holmes, a fine film, LOVED every minute! Ian McKellen's performance is brilliant! As always, Laura Linney delivers a wonderful performance, and Milo Parker's performance is delightful! A must see for Sherlock fans.
