SusyLuvsPaul:
Did you see Gatsby in 3D, Triplets? Baz Lurman (director) always puts on quite a spectacle. Will never forget "Moulin Rouge." Haven't seen Gatsby yet. Summer movies I'd like to see that spring to mind are "The Great Gatsby," "Frances Ha" and "Mud" and of course "Rockshow" There may be a few more. But usually, summer isn't the best time for movies for me. Not for the kind I prefer.
Hi Susy, no, I did not see The Great Gatsby in 3D, although it sort of felt that way. This film jumps off the screen, it is a fascinating visual experience. I hope you are able to see it, I think you will enjoy this film.

Thanks, Triplets "World War Z" with Brad Pitt might be a $400 million bomb, the recent issue of Vanity Fair magazine hinted. I don't feel a desire to see that, do any of you? Sounds like the ultimate nightmare on film. It's about zombies taking over the world and killing as many as they can. Something like that.

Wonder if the new flick starring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson as Google workers is worth a look. Has anyone seen that.

I saw the highly touted new "apocolypse" end of days type comedy "The End Is Now" the other night, starring James Franco, Seth Rogan, Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, Emma Watson, Rianna and more. It's really, really wild. Inspired by John Waters flicks too, I'd say. Has a lot of wild dirty talk too so I wonder if Christian fundamentalists will express outrage over this movie which purports to be loosely based on the Revelations book of the Bible. Some of the dialogue and action is funny, even hilarious. Gets raunchy and induces ops: ops: ops: fairly often. Was surprised to learn a lot in the film is actually described in Revelation. Be a trip if the rapture and apocolypse really happen in this particular manner. And if you get "left behind" that's really going to be uncomfortable.

Saw R.I.P.D. with Jeff Bridges, Ryan Reynolds, Kevin Bacon, Sarah Louise Parker, saw it twice 'cause it's funny, wild, zany, screwball, entertaining and also somewhat philosophical, though based on a comic book.

Today, we went to see 12 Years A Slave - incredible!!! This is an amazing, mesmerizing, emotionally overwhelming film! This incomprehensible, mind-boggling true story will leave you emotionally blistered! If you have an interest in this subject matter, consider this film an essential! Profoundly poignant beyond words - BRILLIANT!!! We are currently looking forward to The Wolf of Wall Street, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and directed by the great Martin Scorsese. Need I write more? Release Dates: US: 25th December UK: 17th January

I know that was dynamite, "12 Years a Slave," but I won't be able to see it. I can't take stuff like that. I also won't be able to see that one with Tom Hanks playing Captain Phillips. Too frightening and intense--I lose myself in the movie if it's really good and forget it isn't really happening and get all worked up and upset--if based on a true story, then it's harder to remember that, too. That it's all faked. Pretending. I really should try to psyche myself up to see "12 Years a Slave" having seen film clips and read such awesome things. I ought to try to see that. I won't be able to see the also highly touted Matthew McConnaghey-Jennifer Garner film about Aids sufferers, although it's another great one I really should try to get myself to see. I don't know if I'd be able to take it. I'm eager to see "August: Osage County" with Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts which opens Christmas Day and also the film based on a novel by Joyce Maynard which I read, wow what a novel, starring wonderful Kate Winslet and James Brolin, called "Labor Day." It also opens Christmas Day.

^ Hi Susy, I completely understand how you feel with regard to films such as 12 Years A Slave, the subject matter is very taxing on one's emotions. August: Osage County and Labor Day have good potential, how could they go wrong with Meryl Streep and Kate Winslet?

^ THOR: The Dark World looked fabulous in the previews, looking forward to reading reviews of this film. When convenient, please tell us of your experience. This evening we went to see Captain Phillips - WOW!!! INTENSE!!! Two hours and fifteen minutes of unimaginable, heart-pounding true-life drama! If interested in this story, this film is a must see - astonishing!!! Whist waiting for the start of Captain Phillips, we saw a preview for The Monuments Men, co-written, produced, directed, and starring George Clooney, along with Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Hugh Bonneville, and Cate Blanchett. We'll be seeing this one... Trailer:

Rachel McAdams, a favorite actress of mine, and Bradley Cooper are filming an interesting looking romantic comedy in Hawaii presently. It's still untitled. He plays a guy in the army who comes looking for his big crush or ex, played by Rachel, she was his first love or something, and he unexpectedly falls for somebody else, someone he never thought he would have fallen for.

"The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby" with Jessica Chastain and James McAvoy is reported to be remarkable, a real experience It's almost three hours long and tells the story twice, from each lead actor's viewpoint, repeating some of the same scenes with different angles and attitudes about what's going on.
