" Ah, but I was so much older then...I'm younger than that now " ~ Dylan
You just introduced me to a brilliant song posting that quote, thank you very much for that.
You are very welcome indeed, Camilla! Dylan wrote some incredibly awesome songs! Here's one that has so many quotable quotes in it, that it's hard to pick one. The original studio version master recording of this is phenomenal! Mr. Tambourine Man ~ Dylan
I couldn't agree more. When I first heard this song I tried to pick out a passage I thought might be able to speak for the whole song but as you say, this songs is just one big bundle of quotes and I didn't manage to pick any although this is probably my favourite part. Then take me disappearin' through the smoke rings of my mind, Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves, The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach, Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow. Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free, Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands, With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves, Let me forget about today until tomorrow.

Quotes about music are not that hard to find but this is probably one of my all time favourites. "Music is a moral law. It gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, a charm to sadness, and life to everything. It is the essence of order, and leads to all that is good, just and beautiful, of which it is the invisible, but nevertheless dazzling, passionate, and eternal form."

"I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. It seems to infuse strength into my limbs, and ideas into my brain. Life seems to go on without effort, when I am filled with music." - George Eliot
-
"I think people who truly can live a life in music are telling the world, 'You can have my love, you can have my smiles. Forget the bad parts, you don't need them. Just take the music, the goodness, because it's the very best, and it's the part I give most willingly'." - George Harrison

"mr mayor, let's cut to the chase. i don't want to waste any time, yours and especially mine. i won't beat around the bush anymore, this will be quick and painless. there will be no long speeches, no pleasantries, no long introductions, just the plain, simple facts. i'm not one to dilly-dally, life is too short so i will be as direct and concise as possible. and i think my associates and you yourself will agree that the more we delay, the more we lose so time is of essence. we cannot sit around all night blabbering about pointless things, we have to get right down to business." -XMASCOM (christmas committee) chairman extracted from 'fruitcake'
