New - Paul McCartney Paul McCartney played in a band called The Beatles (you can read about them here, if you like to know more; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beatles),,) but this is his "New"est studio album. Pretty good to be music made by a musician.

2008 reissue with an additional disc: Room to Roam - The Waterboys Mike Scott is a man of scope (and poetry) and "This is the Sea" was huge sounding. Epic songs like "The Whole of the Moon" is a classic in my collection, but my favorite albums by The Waterboys remains the two folk albums "Fisherman's Blues" (198 and especially "Room to Roam" (1990), their most melodic (McCartney-esque) collection of songs.

Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers & Bastards - Tom Waits You gotta love Tom Waits. I would think one can distinguish his career into two periods to a certain extent, before and after "Swordfishtrombones" in 1983, where he sort of reinvents himself from a bluesy piano troubadour to something imaginatively between Captain Beefheart and Kurt Weill. "Orphans" is a three disc monster from 2006. Waits the Rocker on "Brawlers" (playing right now) , the Balladeer on "Bawlers" and the wild eyed poet? on "Bastards".

Thanx for providing so much of your play list, Mr. Ibsen, was interesting--btw, I greatly admire your plays ! Been thinking I want to find that "lesbian" CD I like (LOL) by Emily and Amy of Georgia. Really like that one. Want to hear it again. A poster here once called me a lesbian because I mentioned listening to their albums (laughs).

Ringleader of the Tormentors - Morrissey 2006 studio album produced by Tony Visconti who produced many Bowie albums and I think he also did some work on "Band on the Run". Morrissey aren't always musically progressive but he is definetely one of the most challenging lyricists, a freethinker and a poet, and I'm fond of his voice. I like The Smiths, it was one of the great 80s bands, but I also think that his solo career afterwards is well worth a listen.

Yes - Jad Fair & Norman Blake Jad Fair made an album with Teenage Fanclub in 2002, "Words of Wisdom and Hope". TF is one of my favorite guitar bands ever. It was quite a political and a little bit angry album, with Jad Fair on lead vocals, as with "Yes", but with only Norman Blake from TF. It is perhaps more melodic and the title brings to mind Yoko's 'yes' that John Lennon ... a positive album. Jad Fair sings a bit like a nerd Lou Reed in a way, a type of voice that one might have to get used to, but becomes more likeable as you become familiar with it. If you are fond of Teenage Fanclub, you can check it out in anticipation of a new album. They don't come so often these days. It's at least what I have done.

Pola X - bande originale du film de Leos Carax composée par Scott Walker Hard to find soundtrack from 1999 composed by Scott Walker. Avant garde and experimental but also airy and beautiful. Nice to finally have it. I collect Walker. I just wish he could rerelease some out of print early 70s LPs that have never been on CD or reissued.
-
FourFiveSeconds - Rihanna and Kanye West and Paul McCartney Unable to get the music video to work but I still enjoy the song. I don't know if I count it as a McCartney song/performance, but at least among his most memorable collaboration/appearances.

Beatles for Sale - The Beatles 2009 stereo reissue. "Beatles for Sale" was actually the first LP I ever bought for my own savings back in the mid-70s. It makes me miss the record stores... Well, I think this CD remaster is superb. When I read criticism of this LP, I must shake my head, it's The Beatles at their peak as a jangly guitar band. I love the sound of this album. And the cover songs are masterful.

The Family Way - Music Composed by Paul McCartney 2011 CD reissue. 'Mastered from the first generation stereo master tapes', it says. Originally released January 6th, 1967. "Love in the Open Air" is a lovely composition arranged by George Martin and orchestra. In a way a foretaste of his classical albums from the 90s on.

Demon Box - Motorpsycho 4CD, 1DVD 2014 reissue of this monster rock album from 1993. Probably my favorite Norwegian band ever. Still going strong in 2015, with a new drummer (since 200 and more progressive than ever.
