One of the Gods of British entertainment, Sir Norman Wisdom now heading towards 100 but here in his prime. Due to major back stage problems there was live airtime to fill and no show. They also had no rehearsal time and both these stars were dropped in the deep end when they were asked to produce something (the other legend here is another legend called Bruce Forsyth).....this was real honest to God live television!!.... .....ONE DAY TO REHEARSE!!..... .....talk about skid marks!..... Iconic British TV.....
Both of them can hold the title of genius all-round entertainers. How many so called 'stars' today could do what they did?......very, very few. All those years in vauderville paid off this night. -
The most beautiful thing ever made by man........and arguably the most important to us here in the UK. R J Mitchell died aged 42 from rectal cancer but not before he designed this sublime piece of machinery.
and news reels from the Battle of Britain..... -
One of the best, most underrated performers in the UK over the last 30 years......Marc Almond and Soft Cell.

This has been in my head all day......and why should I suffer alone....
And another I find increasingly lurking in the large aching void between my ears...... -
I think I should get one of these:
This guys work is just SOOOO AMAZING: And this guy would just scare the **** out of me: -
This may seem boring and tedious but without this we'd have no Beatles or Paul.....
Some more fascinating stuff...... -
Gotta nudge this your way.....classic What's My Line from the US.......just keep watching them all.....proper movie stars.....all God's and most gone. Let's start with a Brit....the most decorated American of all time and rightly so....the iconic Sir Bob Hope.....

Ive been looking for this for ages Probably the funniest episode of one of the first (and best ) sit coms ever.
I love the ad libing on a couple of occasions esp 2.02 and 4.22 on part 3 -
Moggy Brilliant choice... .....just love the genius of Bilko. The cast and writing is just spot on. I've been meaning for ages to try and get the boxed set or compilation DVD. Funny, the 'What's My Line' stuff on Tube is full of Phil Silvers as Bilko and Cagney, one of my heroes the great Jimmy 'awwww' Stewart, Alfred Hitchcock, Errol, Jack Benny, Groucho, Fred and Ginger, Bob Hope etc, and my fave Dorothy Lamour.... .....swoon! I just adore Dotty.... Nice to see them as people rather than stars.

One for the guys......Elizabeth Taylor on Whats My Line......truly stunning woman and actress.....

Moggy Phil Silvers as Bilko on What's My Line......
