A Tribute to Karl Malden who died aged 97......
Thanks for that David darlin'! What a superb actor was! He brought such an intensity to all of his roles.....just terrific! Also, loved him in Streets of San Francisco with M. Douglas.....watched it religiously. He also starred in a true story TV movie called FATAL VISION about Jeffrey McDonald, a marine who murdered his wife and two children. WOW, was he incredible in that - playing the role of a relentless father-in-law determined to see his son-in-law brought to justice! RIP .....you were one of the GREAT ONES!
-
Paul and John......anything he can do the other can do better.....
-
Paul and the late Michael rehearsing 'The Girl Is Mine'......in 1982.
-
Paul 'Ballad of the skeletons'.....with Allen Ginsberg....This should be souped up and released as a single....Love it!
-
I'll point you in the direction of Bo Selecta on YouTube........I wouldn't post it up here as I'd get banned forever......its a bit tooooo rude and coarse for this place! Check out Mel B and the late Michael.......you have been warned about the language though!

Hi David Hope you are well. I came across these vids from Liverpool thought you might like..The first is Seel St. renovation..I remember Seel St from my visit in June 08 and most of the construction was finished. It's amazing how it looks now!
This one is about Liverpool in 1955...watch out for Paul and John! interesting -
i too love 'ballad of a skeleton' which appears to have an anti-war theme. a favorite theme of ginsberg's. i couldnt get the sound quite high enough to make out all the words. that's one of my favorite things (in a long list) about paul...that he was friends with allan ginsberg i enjoyed seeing scenes from 'the family way' movie scored by paul, which david m. provided. thanks, david. this is a smashing thread with a lot of good stuff. amused to see 'the family way' with hayley mills was filmed in bolton in the north of england. chris (moggy) has said he lives near bolton. it's not a beautiful looking town although surely more scenic areas are there than shown in the movie. surrounding countryside for instance. english countryside, among the most lush and green and beautiful in the world. i should so love to behold it with my very own eyes right there in person, but have to make do with picture books and movies and bbc telly shows on educational t.v. stations here. on pbs.

mustangsally10 Loved that..... ....never seen that clip. Liverpool has changed soooo much in recent years. I sat in a car at some traffic lights near the Albert Dock one afternoon waiting to go into the dock and park then have some lunch and I counted (just in my sight line) 37 large cranes......the rebuilding of this great city after decades of neglect has been incredible. I just pray that when they've finsihed it hasn't lost it's soul. Here's some more Liverpool stuff......'Time Team' with Tony 'Baldrick' Robinson from 'Blackadder' comedy series.......all about Liverpool dock.
Some more Liverpool stuff..... The late, great, iconic Liverpool DJ/Broadcaster John Peel on a BBC programme about Chambre Hardman's house and studio. This is the project I worked on in Liverpool with the same National Trust team who worked on Paul's and John's houses. Lady Linda and now Mike were/are patrons for the collection of 240,000 photographs and house. The house is situated on Rodney Street behind LIPA, the street on which Brian Epstein was born. -
Grab a coffee and a couple of cookies and put your feet up. Today's movie is 'The Family Way'.......in it's entirity, complete with score by some scouse reprobate called Paul McCartney. Whatever happened to him?.....
Just brilliant.... .....and I swear I saw Moggy been wheeled around in his pram... ...or was he the old bloke kickin' his heels up at the dance?... .....he's older than he looks you know.... -
nudge nudge with cream and sugar please love doris.
-
One lump or two dear?..... I'm just in the mood for a hobnob.... ....and I've just found 'Zulu' with Michael Caine to watch on You Tube.....
-
An unsung Queen of comedy in the UK......the first stand-up comedienne in the UK....... HYLDA BAKER. ......some of this is very un-PC, so it gets posted..... We're all soooo bloody senstive these days........let's just chill a bit and enjoy life......
They don't make TV like that anymore.....I bet some of you are glad..... I love it! -
this is my fave thread of thought in all of 'talk more talk.' you can feel like you're in comfy cozy england for a bit. not that it's always so relaxing but...something about it, i feel like falling into margaret drabble and iris murdoch novels all over again. reading them again. that was nice of you to provide the entire movie 'the family way' david, there's moggy's old stomping grounds is it? bolton? does he live near there or near newcastle? once made it seem like it was manchester. he's a tad elusive as to his exact location. (doesn't want any limey lover boardies hiding in his bushes, spying on him? LOL)
-
SuzyLuvsPaul Thank you for the compliment about the thread......I'll try and rustle up some more stuff soon.....(computers just been fixed at no expense so it should be easier). Ah, the eternal question of Moggy's whereabouts........he is very elusive as to his exact location isn't he. this is because he never knows where he's gonna be. You see he lives in an old colourful Romany caravan complete with delicately embroidered lace curtains and and large amounts of chintz pulled by a old grey dray horse called Aunt Betsy. He trawls the highways and byways of this old sceptic isle in search of jigs and gigs. He imbibes large quantities of real ale and winkles and accosts beautiful young women with tales of yore when he was a spikey haired punk a'spittin' and a'pukin' all those in close proximity to him. He sweeps along the country lanes going from experience to experience with his faithful old and much put upon dog Pip scampering behind. His wherewithall, his wonga? Many years ago he donned a long summer dress and a wig of blonde tresses and did a Flake advert....it made him a fortune.....which he invested in a worm farm in kent. he now lives off the proceeds..... ......it's either that or he's actually a yuppy type who lives in a some select area of Kensington and is trying to make his private school/Oxbridge educated self look more windswept and fascinating by claiming to come from upt' north...... The fake with the flake...... All in jest Moggy... .......(it's live and let die on the TV..... )

The Vicar of Dibley
That is sooooo accurate.....I lived in a village very like that in York. -
Three first episodes of 'Whatever happened to the likely lads'.......THIS is Newcastle! Moggy lives nowhere near here, he hasn't got the passport...... This is based on me and my mate. I'm the layabout Terry.....

One of the classic British movies....'Passport to Pimlico'.....

Murder Most Foul.......the incomparable Margaret Rutherford as Miss Marple.....
