I came close to starting something on this type of order ..... where I would put my cartoons on it But ...... not really Facebook ..... and of course I want all the credits and rights to them ..... I have to work on it and think about it ...... and come up with something just for the fun of it ...... maybe
I agree Fool, be careful ...

Man, I like FB only so I can keep up with my old school friends and others I love very much. But I unfortunately had to recently unfriend some people I really liked whom were from a messageboard I frequent, NOT this one. As I found some of the members of THAT board were part of a really mean spirited FB page that gossiped about people, and it was just aweful. So yes, please be careful out there fellow boardies.

I have a friend who does a lot of photography, and uses smugmug. From what I can tell, you could keep your cartoons 'password protected.' Just throwing it out there... http://www.smugmug.com/photos/photo-video-backup/

There are certain photos i will not ever share on or offline, as there are too many peeps out there who will snag, copy & sell pix.

oobu, you are too funny! Besides, I never pose for pix like that, I'm the one who takes them of other peeps! Just joking.

Just adding to this thread ..... In my surfing news stories .... I have gone to sites that have their left and right slants (even if I do not agree ... I try to get different perspectives and view points). I could comment on the story or agree or disagree with something written. Now they require a Facebook thing to comment. (I understand why .... some would post stuff that was out of the guidelines ... Facebook would let it be known who the person was ...etc...) . This is only a few ..... I don't want to comment that strongly to join the place ... so I don't visit these sites that often anymore .... if I do ... it is just to glance ... read a few things and be on my way ..... that is just me .... ~shrug.....oh well ......

^ I agree. They want all your FB info & all your other info too, as far as that goes, at many places lately. Can you say big brother? I actually just heard yesterday that big brother will be google. They are starting to do things for your home...like thermostats & such.

When Google begins with the brain implants they will give an electric shock to everyone who does not post on Facebook every hour.

oobu, love your wicked sense of humour! I'm careful of what I share on social networking sites.

I was going to look for this thread (I commented in another thread about doing so). I used to talk directly to a few of these people .... some are family .... lately ..... they have posted stuff on Facebook prior to any phone calls, visits, get together stuff etc .... I am usually finding out through a more distant family, friend, co-worker, casual friend etc ...... (which I guess makes me the distance one) .... someone telling me that they saw that the person is moving, got a new job, an event is happening in their lives ..... they are doing this and that or have already done this and that ...... So I am asking again ...... do I really have to sign up for that thing? I just don't want to ..... then I just have to get the news second hand, third hand or be the only one at the get together not to know that this person and that know if they are having a boy or girl baby, this person is getting married or already did ..... this one is moving out of state .... or this one had a tomato sandwich on lightly toasted bread and was debating on having a pickle with that .... oh well ......

Your last comment made me laugh & realize that no I don't wanna go there. LOL. Why do I need to know what you ate for dinner or are about to eat? It's true though it does seem as everyone is on FB.

I don't plan on joining. I agree it is annoying when businesses only have it and not a real site.

Great to see so many Beatles fans celebrating anniversaries of seeing The Beatles live in concert this month!
-
How about do I have to join our department committee on how to recruit students with facebook?
-
Re-connected with my BFF from 1st grade's younger brother. He is such a hoot!

Im glad I'm not the only one who is living in the dark ages lmao. J/K You know a few years ago I went to enter in a Beatles contest, so I signed up not realizing I was registering for Facebook to enter into the contest?????? I said WTF and deleted it right away. It's as tho people live in Facebook; everything around them is Facebook. I guess it's a good thing if you want to know what's happening with everyone's lives. But it's not for me. Sure I may not know what events are going around in the world around me. But I'm ok with that.
