Yankee Fan mentioned his "guilty pleasures" as Hootie and the Blowfish and Meatloaf, made me think of various artists I've featured on my facebook this past year or two. I think I have pretty good taste in music. Some were Leonard Cohen, Tim Buckley, Jeff Buckley (those two have such gorgeous voices), R.E.M., Alicia Keyes, Linda Ronstadt, Aaron Neville, John Legend and Ariana Grande singing their version of "Beauty and The Beast," James Ingram, Kate Bush, Tina Turner, some Beyonce but not too much of her, Chris Issaak, Dolly Parton, Emmy Lou Harris, Tame Impala, Nada Surf, Barbra Striesand and her "Duets" with famous men singers like Blake Shelton and John Legend, Blake Shelton on his own, KennyChesney, Kenny Chesney with Pink and Grace Potter, Little Big Town singing "Better Man," Judy Collins on her own and singing with Joan Baez, Counting Crows, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, that jazz singer Diane married to Elvis Costello, the blind opera singer with the gorgeous voice, some of the American Idol and The Voice contestants, some of the America's Got Talent singing contestants, Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Marianne Faithfull, Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, Melissa Etheridge, Joan Osbourne singing Dylan, James Taylor, Carly Simon, Toni Braxton, The Rolling Stones and Mick Jagger solo, the O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack, Cyndi Lauper, Willie Nelson and Lucas Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Robert Plant solo, John Hartford, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, John Lennon, George Harrison, The Traveling Wilburys, Rhiannon Giddons, Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac, Nick Drake, Stevie Winwood, Sandy Denny, Art Garfunkel, Jimmy Webb, Paul Simon, Lady Antebellum, Phoebe Snow, Laura Nyro, Paul McCartney solo and Wings, some black male soul singers, Americana artists, Roberta Flack with Peabo Bryson and Donny Hathaway, Peabo Bryson solo and Donny Hathaway solo, The Pointer Sisters, Celine Dionne, Patsy Cline, Coldplay, John Denver, Rickie Lee Jones, Norah Jones, Loretta Lynn, Morrisey, The Smiths, Johnny Mathis, Johnny Halliday, Sylvie Varton,

I got on an Indigo Girls kick on my facebook not long ago and played a whole lot of Indigo Girls. They're good. And after I featured R.E.M. recently it made me think of another Athens, Ga. band, The B-52's and I played some of theirs. There were two other Americana female artists I played a lot of, can't think of their names right now. The one that had duets with Robert Plant and John Waites and others. Oh yeah, that was Alison Krause. And I played some of Patty Griffin solo and Patty also had some duets with Robert Plant and they lived together awhile.

Can't wait til I get my airline travel protector and then travel!! Alaska Air still social distances you on de plane! Will definitely be away during the elections! A Very Happy L2T
Have a wonderful time. My friend's son works in Alaska for four months each year and his father just visited him there. They visited lots of wonderful sites. Enjoy!
Thanks so much Fan4! Glad to hear your son and his Dad had such a nice visit. I've had enough of the Couch party to last me a long time. Trying to be out of the country during the election tantrum. Will have to quarantine in a friends back garden Air BnB but it will be worth it!
Enjoy your travels L2T ... quarantine and all.
When I read: I've had enough of the Couch party to the end ... I started thinking that you should write a song using these words or perhaps a poem ...
That's a great idea Fool!! I've been looking for something to start writing a poem about... thanks!

I wonder what Macca and family with their great love of animals think about zoo's, such as the Irwins' mostly open habitat Australia Zoo? I wonder what Linda thought about zoo's. I always got in a good mood visiting the Bronx Zoo when I lived in New York (except for the section where lions and tigers were too tightly enclosed) and went to the Washington zoo once. There, I was saddened by a huge gorilla being too tightly confined. I like virtually visiting Bindi's Oz zoo and seeing them interact with the wild life in a beautiful lush, green environment. I did think Steve Irwin actually aggravated the gators and other critters and seemed to exacerbate them at times. Going too far (which finally killed him). I didn't like seeing Bindi's brother Robert getting bit on the face by a snake he was holding and then laughing at the blood and pain. Obviously it wasn't poisonous. Incidents like that make some call the Irwins crazy, but I think they're more obsessed with their zoo and the animals, in love with their family business. It's a form of escapism in these harrowing times to get immersed in their world. Steve's memorial service at the zoo was extremely sad. It was very moving when the gigantic slow moving elephants came out to be part of the ceremony. It does appear that Bindi and them treat their wild life well. They call themselves conservationists, not just zoo keepers.

*(since I am back to work)...
I look forward to a three day weekend...
It starts now... .
-
Wow! Today I went through some major flasbacks and said them to some people... things I never told any one ... and giving the details and honesty of not leaving anything out, even i did something stupid, or missed the signs or told a good memory of why I did something ... as if my edit feature was off or I took truth serum. I don't know why, I don't know what caused it ... but it was hidden away for a long time. Nothing bad in any of it, just feelings from a long time ago ... just saying stuff from way back when. The surprise to me was how easily it came out today.
-
Oh good another day...
Normally I would start bumming out that the weekend just flew by again ...
It is like two Saturdays in a row ...
I don't have to get bummed out today ...
Tomorrow is another day ...

true...the days go by way too fast...

This "new Facebook" makes many users curse and fume--I can't even make new posts on my home page !--and don't like the layout as much. Maybe I'll use the new black background, try to get used to that--it reminds me of "MySpace" a long time ago. A black background does make the items seem more interesting and special, maybe. The look of it. But it sucks big time I can't write new posts on my home page. I wonder what others think about this. I've read various complaints, some moaning.

The ice cream place near me has closed for the season. This covid thing had them open later in the season and now they are closed earlier than usual. There are others to go to, this one just has that neighborhood nearby unique on vacation type of thing about it.
Good thing this is a post anything you want thread, because that is what I did.

I can't even post on my page with it ! Can't write posts ! I managed to switch back to "classic" each time it changed to the new, but don't know how long I can keep that up. I did try the black background once, and it seemed special and striking and interesting if I could just get used to it. I couldn't as yet, and switched back to the white. The black background reminds me of MySpace from a long time ago. Do you like the black ?
Oh...I saw I already posted on this subject recently. Well, I had forgotten. I didn't get any answers to my queries then, either.

I use black here but there the white seems better. I was also switching back to classic over on FB but now I can't.

The sides are black& the posts are on a white background. I just checked where you would do that & I can't find it. It should be under settings but it's not. This new board (not so new anymore) really needs improvements! I wonder if you can change it now? Hey Calico if you're out there maybe you could comment?

My college age niece, Jade, is now going to school online, thank God and she also works at a child day care. I was surprised to see she taught the little bitty things about 9/11 on that tragic day's anniversary. It turns out she's a good teacher gifted at working with the tots. As well as a very good writer--Jade showed me some poems she wrote that read like Bob Dylan's; I was gobsmacked. She shared some of what the little kids said about 9/11 and it was very touching. They were quite distressed over it. Jade's mother, my sister, is getting her second Master's Degree. She was a teacher and now a children's counselor. I'm just sharing this 'cause I didn't know the wee muppets would get told about 9/11 at daycare. And found that interesting, and poignant. She showed pictures of them sitting at their little tables, looking so bright, and eager to learn. They looked so cute.

Happy International PEACE Day!
The International Day of Peace (or World Peace Day) celebrated annually on September 21 is devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples. At a time when war and violence often monopolize our news cycles, the International Day of Peace is an inspiring reminder of what we can create together. Peace. Let’s give Peace a chance!

Darn that Mark F---------berg, now I can't switch back to "Classic Facebook" and I can't make posts or submit feedback now. My last post, looks like, ever, will be about Bindi Irwin having a girl. I also have "dark" facebook there, which makes it look special, makes the colors pop.]
My question is, could I make another facebook account while also keeping my old one? Maybe I'd be able to post in a new account.

Mirrored figure cutouts in the woods. Yikes! They look like aliens.
