Paul McCartney 2013 Rumours

The benefit show is expected to be held at National Palace in Port au Prince, which will reportedly be torn down next year.
I"m liking this less and less the more I hear about it, not that I am against the idea of fundraising for the Haitian people, just the idea of what is going to have to be done to outfit the National Palace for this show when people are struggling for supplies and such, still. Seems counter-intuitive to me...

Sounds like another of those gigs for the rich and famous where they expose how not-so-modest they are. And yes, you're right. Very counter-intuitive.

I get the idea of wanting to bring an awesome concert to people who have suffered tremendously for too long, but I'm not sure that giving them a concert like this before everyone has housing and proper facilities is a good idea...perhaps I'm being cynical?

Not at all Wallie, it would be better if they make the Concert in an other place and sending the money to Haiti. I live in a country who has horrible eartquakes, and people apreciate more, if they receive supplies that other kind of help, like a concert...this kind of thing could be necessary a few days after the tragedy, because you need to cheer the people, but now the only need is houses, food, roads...hope they will make the right thing...

I've nothing against a good cause like this, but does Paul really need to get involved in big scale events again

I'm thinking the same thing, as it just seems ridiculous to draw resources from folks who are struggling in Haiti, just to redirect those resources toward a big scale concert. Plus, they'll have to make some major repairs to the venue (that apparently is set for demolition next year because of damage from the disaster) just for the show...this just doesn't seem well thought out...

Someone asked Abe about whether there'll be some new Macca tours soon and he basically said it's top secret. I reckon that might be a cheeky indication that something is definitely being planned.

Did Abe give an interview or something?!
