One of Rick G's friends bought one and realized the error right away. He went back to the vendor (outside the FedEx Forum in Memphis) and they gave him a different shirt and let him keep the bogus one!

Now THAT is cool!

Now this is total speculation on my part, bu the Hard Rock Calling lineup was just announced and of course, Bruce Springsteen is headlining on June 30th...conveniently enough when Paul will be in Europe...I think it's almost a guarantee that Paul will show up and do what was "undone" last year.

We shall see! Bruce was announced as a headliner a while ago and the speculation started then, esp. when HRC stated in their announcement that "Bruce is coming back to finish what he started! " It was thought that Bruce and Paul would turn up together when they were both in Vancouver last year doing back-to-back shows; when that didn't happen, there was another chance when they both appeared at the 12-12-12 concert--that's when *I* thought they might do something together, since they were in the same building and it was for charity. However, Paul came on so late that I guess Bruce was already back in NJ!

Why do you think he would show up at Glasto for the Stones? I wouldn't expect him, myself.

Ron Wood has jammed with McCartney, so who knows? And McCartney and Lennon wrote I WANNA BE YOUR MAN for the Stones, and they still play it, so who knows? Still, I have to agree, it is not likely.

Yeah, I don't see Paul McCartney guesting with the stones. I know they've had a lot of "special appearances" but none of them have been by artists of the same era or a higher touring caliber than they are. It's mostly popular newer artists...
-
Well, Paul is NOT of a higher touring caliber. I would say the same caliber though. I think it would be cool if Paul joined them for I WANNA BE YOU MAN and played bass and sang with Mick!

yes, Katy Perry recently, and I heard that Taylor Swift joined them in Chicago the other night...

I think it would be weird. Ringo sang the song, John had the main hand in writing it, and it was just a piddly album track from "With The Beatles" that the stones covered for their first single, hmm....

Whatever Wix. : And you are wrong once again. It was mainly a McCartney song.

\ Springsteen in December in Newark? John Fogerty and **TOM WAITS** from this leg of the tour?! Yes, they've had "the flavor of the month" join them on some shows this time out but on others, it's been some old "high calibre folks" indeed. Paul's friends with the Stones so it's not out of the realm of possibility. Just don't see it though with their respective tour schedules - which is unfortunate, because it would be a blast. Could easily see Macca ripping quite nicely on "Respectable" myself!

Springsteen probably matches their level of popularity on the touring field, you're right. But while I love Fogerty and Waits...they aren't exactly the *top dollar ticket* anymore.

Fogerty perhaps not so much ... Tom Waits, who rarely tours (mainly because he can't be bothered and doesn't have to), most absolutely is. Matter of fact, precisely because he so rarely appears on stage, he could easily charge $500 a ticket and most people - myself included - wouldn't blink in paying it. (Thankfully I have already seen him so I won't need to put that to the test!)

Double-bleh!

Maybe Mick and Co. said "We have enough old guys up here, let's get some young people on stage!"

Hopefully soon they'll say: "We've had enough talentless people on stage, let's get some talented musicians!" (Cue: P. McCartney, D. Grohl, R. Daltrey, E. Clapton, ETC)

Well that is certainly part of it - "Hey, we'll give you someone without wrinkles you can count for a few minutes!" I don't think it's any accident that Paul has youngish guys around him - definitely important to keep the WQ (wrinkle quotient) down as sadly people do become way too obsessed with it!
