I think that was a great choice. If not Lesli Clark than Biden. Both good men. Obama just gets it. Would of loved to seen Hillary and Bill face. Now you don't talks so loud now you don't seems so proud.
-
Biden is a great choice...it's a good ticket 2 authentic people with good integrity! And I'm sure Biden remembers how many houses he ownes Last year Biden was listed as the poorest member of the Senate with a negative net worth. The guy is in it for the right reasons
-
I thought he would choose Biden in the end.
-
Very safe choice........not surprised
-
They are both to far to the left to get elected. Now we'll watch Obama backtrack and move to the right. :
-
Obama/Biden they are only names but it just doesn't sound right. Are people gonna hold papers with "OBAMA BIDEN" on them in America.
-
Biden is a good choice for the Democratic Party and for the country. If they win, at lest Obama will have someone to show him how to do his job. When he ran against Hillary Clinton the theme of his campaign against her was that she's a Washington insider, and that's what's wrong with the country. Too many Washington insiders. Now he chooses the ultimate Washington insider by picking Joe Biden who has 36 years under his belt as a Washington insider. That's gonna come back to haunt Obama throughout the election period.

Hi Phillip, Obama's been moving toward the right since winning the primary. In reality, he will govern from the far left if elected because he's always been from the far left. If McCain doesn't pound away on that Obama will probably win.

Joe Biden On Barack Obama
-
New 'Cheney' is safe pick as Obama chooses Biden's experience Saturday, August 23rd 2008, 4:43 PM Meet the new Dick Cheney. By picking Joe Biden as his running mate, Barack Obama has taken a page out of George Bush's successful 2000 campaign and named a partner who knows a thing or two about the adult world. For many Democrats and independents, it will be a reassuring choice, if not an exciting one. Of course, what with the Darth Vader comparisons, Bush's choice of the once-respected Dick Cheney has been a disaster. And Biden brings his own baggage, so he's certainly not risk-free. But polls show Obama is facing serious voter doubts about his youth and inexperience, and he picked the VP candidate on his short list whose experience and gravitas could best address those doubts. All the others, from Hillary Clinton to Evan Bayh of Indiana, would have been overtly designed to deliver a state, a voting bloc or a special interest. Biden, although he is a Catholic and has a working-class background, offers no gain in clear, measurable ways. Instead, he is schooled in the ways Obama is not - in Washington and in foreign policy. He can also make the "values" case, as he did repeatedly Saturday, that might be more believable to voters who have proved immune to Obama's charm. link to complete article: http://www.nydailynews.com/opinions/2008/08/23/2008-08-23_new_cheney_is_safe_pick_as_obama_chooses.html

The Case Against Joe Biden Posted at 02:06 PM ET, 08/24/2008 The Dangers of the Protracted Primary washingtonpost.com's Politics Blog http://voices.washingtonpost.com/thefix/

Sen. Biden is a good choice for a running mate. The phrase "Washington Insider" is overused and irritating because for someone to acquire the foreign policy experience that Sen. Biden possesses you have to put in your time in D.C.. A lay person does not have the access to such information that our elected officials do. Biden compliments Obama because he brings to the table a level of experience in certain areas that Obama does not have. To say that Obama's choice of a "Washington Insider" will haunt him during this election process depends on what side of the asile you're on because McCain is also a "Washington Insider" of 26 years, serving two terms in the House Of Representatives and 22 years in the Senate. By that logic, McCain's "Washington Insider" status should haunt him also, not to mention being in favor of continuing Bush's fiasco of a War and perpetuating Bush's tax cut program favoring the wealthy. Also, McCain's offshore drilling proposal will not see results at the pump for about 12 years (Source: Nancy Pelosi on NBC's "Meet The Press" August 24, 200, yet Bush 43 blames the Democrats for the high prices at the pump after he promised in his 2004 campaign to keep the price of a gallon of gas down. Guess you didn't make good on that promise G.W. so you may as well blame the situation on the Democrats. Now, the Democratic National Committee has awarded Michigan and Florida full voting rights on the Convention floor, which is as it should be. Hell, that should have been done during the primary season when only 1/2 votes were awarded in arriving at a nominee. It's all politics folks but it all comes down to whether you want Bush 44 as your next President even though his last name will be McCain or you want America to move past this war fiasco and disaterous economic policy that is currently affecting this country by voting the Obama/Biden ticket. McCain's choice of a VP candidate will not change his Bushesque ideaology. It has nothing to do with political party, it has to do with what is good for the country. Obama/Biden gets my vote.

Good grief. Who would have thought that being unable to manage your own budget would be something to brag about?

Fantastic article in todays New York Times Magazine about Obamas economic policies. It's in depth and long but very informative. One of the best articles I have seen. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/24/magazine/24Obamanomics-t.html?em Peace

That's not what it means It means that he has not taken money from lobbyists, if he had he would be rich like many of the other senators. There is an epidemic of corruption in Washington For as long as Joe Biden has been in the senate he has not used it for personal gain. That's what it means.

rich is rich poor is a chore wealthy is healthy and the working classes will just keep hoping and loving and working their arses off!

Lobbyists are close to Sen. Biden's vest, one son currently - and 2 sons before his last election. Biden's Son Employed in Profession Obama Disdains - Lobbying http://news.yahoo.com/s/bloomberg/20080824/pl_bloomberg/a6qrvqdtzkv4&printer=1;_ylt=AhnGSIb6csqHGMM2yfkRW2Spg9IF

That "article" is nothing more than an eight page editorial endorsement of Obama.

Biden represents the change Obama needs to bring to Washington? Don't be fooled by Biden's negative net worth. In rules of accounting liabilities are placed in the credit column while assets are listed as debits. That's why it was my worst course in college. I remember asking the moron who taught my accounting class why cash in my pocket is a liability and my credit card bill at home is an asset. He provided me and the rest of the class with a brilliant three part answer. A) Because that's the way it is. B) This course is fast and very intensive, so if anyone has questions you better get a tutor. C) I don't even know why I'm teaching this course. : : Andy, about that link. First and foremost, the army or whatever branch of the military Biden's son is in had better rescind his orders to go to Iraq. The article says Obama claims he doesn't take lobbyist money. That's BS. He has taken money from big oil, just like McCain. McCain took in over a million dollars while Obama took in half as much. Biden, the brains of the two man team has a horrible record on foreign affairs. The experience Obama plans to carry his candidacy on now that he has a running mate is just as poor s Obama's judgement. In 1979 Biden was with Jimmy Carter favoring the overthrow of the Shah of Iran. Like Carter, Biden believed the Ayatollah Khamenei would mean progress for human rights. Biden opposed Reagan's policy against the Soviet Union. Biden was for detente while Reagan wanted to bring down the Evil Empire. Reagan did so without firing single shot and without any help from Joe Biden. Like most Democrats, he was on the wrong side of history. He opposed Bush Sr in 1990 to use force to remove Saddam Hussein's goons out of Kuwait. He voted for the Iraq War under Bush Jr. He jumped ship when things started going bad and opposed the surge which has clearly worked. Barck Obama's only claim to fame is a speech he gave in 2002 opposing the upcoming war. That's all he ever had -- I was against the war from the very beginning and I gave a speech saying so, therefore I deserve to be president and anyone who opposes me is a racist--. Based on Biden's record, er speeches, Obama picking Biden is the biggest mistake of his political career. Even when Obama has all the time in the world to judge who would make a good running mate based on where he wants to take the country he got that wrong too.
