RE: ......IN A HEARTBEAT
LITTLE LAURA:
Just a bit of news today. I have to go for an ultra sound tomorrow--which I'm not looking forward to. Not the actual procedure, that's not bad. It's the prep I hate. You have to drink 24 fl oz of water 1 hour before. That's a lot of fluid!
I'll be glad when it's over. Ick. ps: I can't make the bold, italics, underline, etc, work. Huh?
You'll do fine with your procedure Lara! There are things in life nobody likes but just tell yourself: "I have to do what I have to do to get better and regardless of the cards I have been dealt in life, I must strive to be the Best Little Lara I can possibly be because I've got alot of living yet to do." Just a suggestion to get you through Laura! You can use it or not! I will continue to pray for you! I hope I have helped and Thank You Lara for keeping us up to date with you! Stay strong sweetie!

RE: Paul, on your next tour, please come to ____________ .
Paul McCartney has never played Buffalo, NY which has HSBC Arena that seats almost 19,000 people. Paul repeatedly plays New York City and Toronto but no Buffalo. Toronto is 90 miles away and the distance betweeen Buffalo and New York City is 395 miles. I believe Paul played Syracuse in 1993 and Long Island in 1976. That's it. There are alot of New Yorkers between Buffalo and New York City and Buffalo is also a draw for Canadian concert goers. I was hoping for a Buffalo show but it looks like doubling up of dates in other cities have closed the holes in the schedule geographically. At the risk of answering my own question, Buffalo turned down booking The Beatles in the then Memorial Auditorium because the decision makers thought The Beatles wanted too much money for a 20 minute show. Does Paul skip over Buffalo, and possibly other cities, because they turned down The Beatles? I hope not! I would rather hear that Buffalo was considered for a McCartney show and couldn't come to terms rather than there being no consideration at all for a Buffalo, NY show! Ringo Starr played the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium (which was replaced by HSBC Arena) in 1989 with the first All-Starr Band Tour. Score one for Ringo! Paul, please consider Buffalo, NY as a tour stop!

RE: The ..2012.... Political thread
Just some comments on these Town Hall Meetings concerning health care. Have the Americans attending these Town Hall Meetings lost their collective minds? Anyone with common sense has to know that the only way to get factual answers to their questions concerning the pending health care bill is to stay calm, cool and collected; ask your question and listen to the answer. If attendees of these meetings don't loosen their collars and let the heat out from under their shirts they just might end up leaving the meeting in an ambulance.
This would result in increased health care costs to the person(s) who was concerned about health care costs in the first place. The only way to cut through political propaganda is to keep your wits about you; act like a civil human being when asking your question; ask a follow-up if necessary and use your intelligence to process the answer(s). However, in today's media we may never hear about a civilized Town Hall Meeting on health care because it is not an interesting enough story.
So goes the vicious circle of the media/propaganda machine. I admit stripping away propaganda to get at the facts is not easy but Americans should keep their composure and give it the old college try. Lastly, there shouldn't be any pork in the health care bill (or any bill) either.
While that may be too much to ask in the political arena, too much pork increases your waistline, which is not good for your health either.

RE: The ..2012.... Political thread
The economic stimulus package has passed but with no Republican votes in the House and only 3 Republican votes in the Senate. President Obama has attempted to bring non-partisanship to Washington D.C. but the Republicans seem to be stuck in their same old failed ideology and would rather quibble than do what is for the good of the country. The Republicans voted for the $800 billion financial bailout package to bail out the banking industry and Wall Street under a Republican President but voted based along party lines when it came to getting the economy on track for the average American and the middle class under a President who is a Democrat. When President Obama was selecting his Cabinet Republicans asked Where is the bipartisanship? They claimed there were not enough Republicans in the Cabinet. Yet, when Obama selected Sen. Judd Gregg, a Republican, as Commerce Secretary he accepted and said with a straight face that now is not the time for partisanship only to withdraw his nomination shortly thereafter because of major ideological differences with President Obama that he could not reconcile within himself.
: Sen. Gregg also was pressured by the Republicans who accused him of "selling out".
: Partisanship at its finest. Better to "sell out" the country and not the GOP.
: I'm not saying Obama should have carte blanche but the Republicans can't have it both ways. They complain that they are under-represented in the Cabinet but then the Republican nominee for Commerce Secretary; all the Republicans on the House Of Representatives and the Senate (with the exception of the 3 Republican Senators who voted for the stimulus package) can't put partisanship and their long-standing policies that favor big business aside to do what is for the good of the country. Somehow, this sad
turn of events doesn't surprise me. President Obama went to Capitol Hill to meet exclusively with Republicans on the stimulus package, but to no avail. The President was open to compromise and incorporated Republican concerns in to the final version of the stimulus package. He extended an olive branch to Republicans. I guess the Republicans don't like olives.
Just my opinion.
