"One Nation Under God" Why am I seeing all of these "Country First" proclamations?

People the US is hours away from a full blown depression. The only thing stopping it is nationalizing wall street the same folks who wanted deregulation for everybody. Now the crooks have run our nation to the brink of a depression. FBI announced tonight they are going to investigate these company being bailed out so maybe they can keep the million they stole and are politician can justify it. I not seeing any rich doing time. Why did this happen because some dips voted for image instead of substances. Isn't it time to vote in a intellectual and not a pretender. Haven't we seen what a pretender leaves us with after 8 years. Palin and Mccain are both pretenders. No real hands on experences to run crap. Mccain wife is loaded(litterly she went to rehab for Oxycontin addiction a few years back) and Palin a one trick pony. The reason some Asian country do so much better than us is they actually vote in wise old men to run there country. Guys with education on economic and world affairs. We consider beauty queens want to bees with sneers. We have one chance to vote for change and not screw it up. I'm shocked any one take Palin serious. I don't think Palin take herself seriously. Your not voting in Palin your voting in Mccain. Alaska love to vote odd man out. They once had a guy on the ticket called Mafia Mike and he got 1/3 of the votes. That how serious they take there politics.

I'm a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight..... * If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents, you're "exotic, different." * Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, a quintessential American story. * If your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim. * Name your kids Willow, Trig and Track, you're a maverick. * Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable. * Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well grounded. * If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees, you don't have any real leadership experience. * If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to become the country's second highest ranking executive. * If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you're not a real Christian. * If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you're a Christian. * If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society. * If , while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state's school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant, you're very responsible. * If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family's values don't represent America'. * If you're husband is nicknamed "First Dude", with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn't register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable. Here is a small thing you can do in two clicks - SECONDS! Check this out please and fast. The Right is having people vote that Palin is qualified. Let's turn this around!!! PBS has a poll that asks: Is Sarah Palin qualified to be VP? Let's turn this around..... You don't have to give your name or email address in order to vote. It's very simple. Here's the link: http://www.pbs.org/now/polls/poll-435.html Just click & vote. NOW. And if you'd like to pass it along, please do!

Bill Clinton says he understands Palin's appeal Monday, September 22, 2008 - Page updated at 03:06 PM By KAREN MATTHEWS Associated Press Writer Bill Clinton said Monday he understands why Sarah Palin is popular in the heartland: because people relate to her. "I come from Arkansas, I get why she's hot out there," Clinton said. "Why she's doing well." Speaking to reporters before his Clinton Global Initiative meeting, the former president described Palin's appeal by adding, "People look at her, and they say, 'All those kids. Something that happens in everybody's family. I'm glad she loves her daughter and she's not ashamed of her. Glad that girl's going around with her boyfriend. Glad they're going to get married.'" for complete article: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/politics/2008195867_apbillclintonpalin.html
Was he smoking a cigar when he said that.

McCain Seeks to Delay First Debate Amid Financial Crisis By ELISABETH BUMILLER and MICHAEL COOPER, NY Times, September 24, 2008 http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/25/us/politics/25mccain.html Senator John McCain on Wednesday injected yet another surprise into his presidential campaign, announcing that he would suspend campaigning on Thursday and seek a delay in this week?s planned debate, so that he could return to Washington to try to forge a consensus on a financial bailout package... I wonder if a president gets to call a time=out?
-
They both are Senators ..... that is their job. Their decision can affect so many that it should be a priority. There are only 100 Senators ... and very close in relation of Democrat to Republican (Although they should treat this as a unit of one) . They should all listen and every voice should be heard. At a 9% Approval rating they should make every effort for something this massive. I feel like they are taking a "time out" from their job to be on the trail running for another office. One of those two have been running for President of the US for close to two years .... its about time he gets back their to see what the place looks like. Maybe he will vote something other than "present."

Well, he isn't president yet. Though I do think if the american people aren't paying attention to the race, they are looking at the economy and this particular bailout and how it will affect them, it doesn't seem that out of line imo.

when will war and uneducation and unobjective economics end?
-
They won't....get over it and move on. There will always be war, there will be uneducated people (however you want to define it) and there will always be a financial crisis. We manage through these. Always have, always will.

You can't do that in the senate. Don't confuse state legislatures with the senate. There's a reason there's two senators. If there was something that critical to their state that their vote was seriously needed, the other one would let the missing one know. Recently, TedK flew to Washington to vote on a critical piece of legislation, both for our state and the nation. John K (who I am not voting for in November), let him know.
-
Maybe there is a critical issue going on Both he and Obama are meeting at the white house tomorrow.
-
I believe that John will keep the scheduled debate - Perhaps this might prove to be his advantage He's a Senator first And works with the problems of this Nation first. But the other Senator does not share the country first view - which is why each of them was elected in the first place by the people. So the other Senator's view really is: me first, the country, its problems & the people can wait ...
