The world endorses Obama: http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2008/nov/01/elections-obama-mccain-usa-bush
They don't get a vote. And I'm very happy about that. Funny how the world is compelled to reflect on this country's leaders.....while not taking care of their own. I do hope that any of the international news crews will try to remember not to ask the people in line to vote whom they are voting for......so inappropriate....and illegal in this state anyway
I agree As an aside, here is some little tid bits about Obama's track record already - I plucked this from another site: Is this the "change we can believe in" that Bo wants for the country? Perhaps the U.S. Should pull out of Chicago? Body count: In the last six months 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago; 221 killed in Iraq. Sens. Barack Obama & Dick Durbin, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., Gov. Rod Blogojevich, House leader Mike Madigan, Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike), Mayor Richard M. Daley (son of Mayor Richard J. Daley) .....our leadership in Illinois.....all Democrats. Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago. Of course, they're all blaming each other. Can't blame Republicans; they're aren't any! State pension fund $44 Billion in debt, worst in country. Cook County (Chicago) sales tax 10.25% highest in country. Chicago school system rated one of the worst in the country. This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois. And he's gonna 'fix' Washington politics for us!!!???? SURE!!!!!

Thank's for sharing that, Nellie I missed the first part of the program - then was too tired to watch the rest. There's more of the same, I saw an edited short clip. I'll try to find it - unless someone beats me to the same

Obama's on live tv right now promising everything to everyone. Forget $250,000 and above to raise taxes. He's gonna have to raise taxes on everyone making over $250. One expensive promise after another after another etc... It just goes on and on. I can't believe his audience is so dumb that they believe everything he's saying.
Well, hopefully the crowds supporting John McCain don't believe everything he's saying... or worse, what Sarah - I can see Russia from my house - Palin is saying!
Sarah Palin is my favorite of them all. I think she would be a better president than McCain or Biden. I know she would be a better president than Obama because Obama has no expreience. If he sat this out Hillary would have been elected. In eight years he would only be 55 with a whole lot more experience. In her second term she could have made him sec of state and he would be a shoe in to get elected. 16 straight years with a Democratic White House. But Obama put himself before his Party and country. My biggest concern about Obama is we know too little about him. His records at Columbia are sealed. His thesis is about Soviet nuclear proliferation yet none of us can see it and the media have been silent about it. Of course, I don't believe everything coming from McCain either and I think Palin's use of the word "maverick" is getting old. As a point of information, Palin never said she could see Russia from her house. That was a comedian, a Saturday Night Live skit, or an editorial poking fun at her. But somehow most people believe she said it. I did too until I did a bit of research. I give credit to whoever wrote it because it's a good line. I know quite a few people who liked her and now thinks she's an idiot because of Saturday Night Live.
It doesn't need SNL to make her look like a complete idiot!

Just my short 2 cents - I believe that if Obama is elected President, that the majority of people (never all) who voted for him, will live to regret it It won't happen all at once - it might not happen in his first term. I think the regret will be looking back years later. People will pine, "If I only was a bit smarter to pay more attention to the news behind the news, I never would have voted for Obama!. But, alas that was then and this is now - and now it's too late

I take that to mean - you have not been paying attention to what MikeMc and a few other board members have been writing/saying Is the fact that America will have a health system like Canada and/or England a concern? Only the very rich have other choices (who have up until now) flown or driven to America for an operation within a few weeks instead of many months and/or years at home on a waiting list. America's health system will be the same or worse - and we will have nowhere to go for needed medical operations - left on a waiting list possibly to die. That's not a concern!? Is the fact that his Aunt is living in a slum (against the immigration laws of the land) while he & his wife are living in luxury that only the majority of Americans can only dream about a concern? He wants you & I to pay his Aunts wants & needs - he doesn't want to share his wealth even with his own family in dire straights. That's not telling about what he is really like? He mentioned that Aunt in his first book - she was only used by him to enrich himself and ignore his flesh & blood! That's not a concern?! He was a member of a g-d hates America for 2o years - whose pastor married him & his wife - and he doesn't remember hearing anything of the sort! That is not a concern : Let's give him a break - he was asleep in the pews all the time & that if that being the case - we can expect him to be asleep at the switch running America So, he divorced his pastor & church - we should now feel better (???). It just so happens that some of him radicalized (non friends according to him) in whose living room he began his polital career with wine, cheese, & dinner - feel exactly the same, they hate Ameriica - but this is not telling - nah, that's not a concern! He cheated the election rules by accepting contributions from overseas from unidentifiable people like DaffyDuck who gave many times over the limit changing their name each time - that's not a concern about his ethics?! How is he to retain respect - if he cheats & lies?! This is only a sampling of the many concerns we should have - if we are not asleep in the pews! Mike & some of the others can do better. Pay attention to them

I really hope that there will be a change, even though I'm not convinced Obama is the best choice for the US (for various reasons) BUT in my opinion he's the best the US came up with during these elections! Just my two euro-cents!

I read that Martha Reeves is now a member of the Detroit City Council and I'll bet she is beside herself with pride.
Too bad the City Of Detroit is not proud of her. Backing our thug, perjurious, stripper killing, WhistleBlower Law ignoring, rascist Mayor... right to the end. Then there's that whole... meeting with a suspended official who is under investigation for bribes paid in a sludge recycling deal with the City... thing. (She originally opposed the deal. Hmm... ) I wonder, is there a Youtube link for "Dancing In The Cell?" The City Of Detroit is a mess... and coincidentally about as BLUE a city/state as it gets!
