The ..2012.... Political thread

I think in the long run Obama's wife is going to be a drag on him. If you listen to her talk, she's seems very angry all the time. Everything revolves around her skin color. No doubt OReilly is an asshole, but so is Mrs. Obama.

McCain to me seem very OVERLY relaxed and really answered the question like any politician would answer when caught. Do I think he guilty? Oh Yea! His wife looks like the Joker from Batman. If that smile was any tighter her lips would split. Notice how leaving the stage she walked behind than it looked like she pushed in front like OK I did my bit now get me the hell out of here. Both were too calm and there body language spoke volumes. His eyes were shifting back and forth he leaned into the mike like he was all lay back and cool as a cucumber. If he was 100% innocent he would of been mad, angry and making clear this was totally a smear campaine. He would not of come out being all calm and when asked question (which you can bet were staged and prepared) he answered with short answer that can't come back and cause him any legal recourse if this does not die down. Where the lobbyist? Why no public appearance from her. Afraid she might not pull off the lying like McCain can under a camera. Why do people think it's weird that it a anonymous source. Let not forget Jennifer Flowers and the other woman who spoke up and was crucified in the press. They became the bad guy. The person who snitched most likely wanted the public to know without being put into a media circus. Deep throat wasn't called a lier. Your only as sick as your secrets and the last thing we need is a guy hiding something who will be at the mercy of blackmail. Get it. We already had Clintons who sold there souls to the devils so she could have a political career. We don't need anymore guys who talk with fork tongues . McCain did this to his first wife so it not like he some saint. Why when its a Rep it not big deal. The Rep though Ken Starr are responsible for grade school kids hearing the words oral sex. The Rep were the ones who wanted to drag out the sex lives of a opponent to take him out. Now they better plan to live by the sword. Huckleby would be a much safer and better candidate for the Rep they might have a chance with him. I might even vote for him.

Black in America. Can't imagine why she angry. She over came things, we as whites can't even understand. To be where she is take strength. Don't let the Rep machine start to chip away at someone because there most likely tired and make a comment that was not meant to offend. Oreilly on the other side would not in a million years make a Lynch comment by mistake. Bush even warned the public It better not to even use the Lynch word when talking about a person of color. It too threatening.

You know just because someone is white doesn't mean we are trying to oppress anyone. Do your homework on Mrs Obama, she didn't have it rough at all!

Oreilly should lose his job. It was a deliberate jab at Obama wife. He so two faced. If it was popular comment he be playing it up. When it gets him in trouble he double talks. He such a racist and has always been.
Actually it wasn't at all.....maybe only a racist sees it that way?
Well the KKK didn't see anything wrong with lynching blackie either. So what your point. Ignorance is not excuse for someone being allowed to abuse someone and sending a racist slur. Its so unbelievable to me that Oreilly did this so blatantly. It like he so arrogant that he thinks he above this. When I heard Imus comment I did a double take and went "Wow did he just call those girls nappy headed Ho's. Then someone went enough is enough and all hell broke loose,. We'll see how the public plays this out. Oreilly running scared. He knows he become a liability since he Lofa scandal and I betting his rating are down. For the record I have watched Oreilly (less and less). Mainly I turn in to see what dump ass has to say about his Rep friends when they get caught tapping toes in bathrooms etc. I heard him talking to blacks and always felt he talked over them and was very superior to them. He taunted Jessy Jackson for years all when he himself paid off a woman to shut up after sexually harassing her. Why you guy think this guy has any importance. He's what is wrong with American media. He abuses his power of the media and tries to mislead the public. He's unbalanced. NYT were actually friendly with McCain and sat on this story. Others were going to release it if they didn't. There standing by the story. Where there smoke there fire. Oreilly is part of the Bush machine. Spin the story to get us into a war. Now the Rep are spinning this story about McCain. No one believes the NYT would dare print a story if they did not know it was true. Look at the liability. However we do know Carl Rove likes to plant stories to set up the journalist, like they did with Dan Rather.

Again if your white you can't understand . Money and a good home is not what I'm talking about. People whisper racist comments I sure daily to them. It must be even harder when you are driven and did do it all right and some still call you the N word and say you not good enough. It has nothing to do with how good or not good a person has it. It has to do with allowing them to suceed on a fair playing field understanding how hard it is for someone like that to break through. Few have done it without doing something (usually because of a bad upbringing) to bring them down. I heard everything from I won't vote for Obama because he got a muslim name or better yet a terrorist name. Give me a break. If anyone will succeed in peace in the middle east it will be a black man who had muslim roots in his family. This would be huge for diplomacy. The Muslim faith is not our enemy. Its the extremst, like Bush, that are a threat. Neither of them have screamed racist or even commented on Oreilly's jab. If it were Chaney and his gay daughter was involved he be demanding his job. If she's angry it because their winning fairly and yet the Dem were trying to figure a way to get Hillary in, even if she didn't get the votes. i was frustrated when I heard that. I want to believe my vote counts.

Your comment that if your white you can't understand is in itself a racist comment. You just lost all credibility. :

As I review the recent comments about Obama's wife, I find myself agreeing with both Phillip and appletart2. Anytime we apply charateristics to a large group of people it is racist. For example all chinese people are smart, all blacks can dance. None of us know all chinese people, and none of us know all black people. I know whites who understand racism, just as well or better than some blacks. But I also agree with appletart2, the history of blacks in America has been so horrible until about 30 years ago when there has been some improvement. There have been many incidents in America history when blacks have done just as well or better than we see today, just to have it all destroyed by whites. Remember the very prosperous black towns, with doctors, lawyers, school teachers, businesses, run and owned by blacks that once they reached a level equal to or better than whites, were attacked, burned to the ground, with black men, women, children, old people, even black with disabilities murdered in cold blood, not ten or twenty, but 1000's. This did not happen in Russia, the Middle East, 100's of years ago. It happened here, next door, down the street, and within the last 100 years. After all of this I think Michelle has the right to be a little angry. If we want to go destroy an entire country because of 911, I think that we are blessed that Obama and his wife want to help our country rather than nuke it!!!

Lol! Your mind is a joke and you are kidding no one! It's amazing how the last stand of so many people on racism is to say that if it exists, the people who say it does must be racist for saying so! Your comments, Phillip, are completely laughable, except they're also sad.

And you would feel protected with him in office? I know I wouldn't......maybe if he had something substantial to say except CHANGE....I would listen more. And it has NOTHING to do with race.......it has to do with his cause and how he is representing it. Sure.....he's a nice guy......but is that all we need? I just don't see him or especially his wife protecting the country. This whole election scares the hell out of me......both sides.

Understandably so....it's a critical election.

Oh gosh, yes, we are so blessed. At long last, a candidate who campaigns on wanting to help the country instead of....."nuking" it. Gee, how long has it been since we've had a candidate who didn't advocate nuking the country? I'm going to sleep well tonight.

Our country has spent trillion and trillion to fight a basicly 2nd world county full of people who can't stand each other let alone us. They been at war for 4000 years. Do you really think bombing the shit out them is going to change there hate for each other? We are in Iraq because Sadam was getting ready to flow cheap oil into the market place. Fact! This war is about oil. 911 was about fear. a barrel of oil reached 100. Mission accomplished. Now let stop the killing and go back to work to pay off this debt. Obama knew like a lot of us that this war was wrong. We America's do not attack countries that do not attack us first. ( P.S. Iraq had nothing to do with the attacks on 911 they were saudi's) However Bush world does.

Here are two good articles about this election. The Barack Blowout By Joe Klein, Time, Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008 http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1713497,00.html Klein has this to say: ?If nothing else, a presidential campaign tests a candidate's ability to think strategically and tactically and to manage a very complex organization. We have three plausible candidates remaining--Obama, Clinton and John McCain--and Obama has proved himself the best executive by far.? And this one compares Clinton?s campaign strategy to Bush?s strategy on Iraq: The Audacity of Hopelessness By FRANK RICH, NY Times, February 24, 2008 http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/24/opinion/24rich.html

one more time .... Obama may face grilling on patriotism No flag pin, no hand over his heart: Is he exposed? AP updated 5:26 a.m. ET, Sun., Feb. 24, 2008 WASHINGTON - Sen. Barack Obama's refusal to wear an American flag lapel pin along with a photo of him not putting his hand over his heart during the National Anthem led conservatives on Internet and in the media to question his patriotism. Now Obama's wife, Michelle, has drawn their ire, too, for saying recently that she's really proud of her country for the first time in her adult life. Conservative consultants say that combined, the cases could be an issue for Obama in the general election if he wins the nomination, especially as he runs against Vietnam war hero Sen. John McCain. please use the link below to access the entire article http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23315711

The only comfort I have is that the President (whoever it may be) has a lot less power than people give credit for. They have to cut through a lot of red tape and political baloney before they get things passed, etc. I just hope that in this period of weak presidential choices, the other aspects of our 'checks and balances' of our government are strong...
