[quote="appletart2"]I sorry I must of missed something. Palin was honored at what white house function? Or any of these wing nuts you mentioned. You have to be worthy of being honored so whats your point? I don't think being a "babble head" qualifies you for much. YES.......you missed something...........my point (while proving it at same time.........THANKS!!!)

I guess the Rolling Stone General is gone
-
If you haven't read the Run Away General by Micheal Hasting, here is the link General in charge of the War in Afghanistan, goes Rogue and was fired by the President today. http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/17390/119236 To Bad Lady GagGag had to be on the cover. Many eye opening articles coming out of RS in the last few months.

"I guess the Rolling Stone General is gone " The above is a quote of the post I just made in the political thread
-
I drew this .... I saw something similar a long time ago ...(done much different - so it is from that memory of then).... so I am not taking full credit for it. For some reason -- I thought is belonged in the Political thread
-
I call that a staunch Democratic view
-
...of the Republican "underside!!!!!"
-
Who knows which side?! I just like to have fun cartooning They both (political parties) give enough material to work with
-
that is so true, unfortunately, or fortunately???
-
I ? threads were merged. No longer makes sense.

I have to correct you on this point. Earnings are not the same thing as revenues. They are the same thing as net income. BP's earnings were not $240+ billion, they were $20.8 billion, if i'm reading the financial figures presented in oobu24's email correctly.
there going to file bankruptcy anyway..after they borrow 50 billion from a US bank..don't want to leave the country without a final... F%$# U.
I don't understand: Why would a US bank lend them $50 billion if they are going to go bankrupt?

I posted this on a RS tread because they do have a lot of good political article that are real eye openers. as well as music This story was a whopper. Wow!! I care more if the war was just over period..but a shock to see a General do something so clearly out of order for a Amer Gen. MH must of been listening to this guy and going "oh no he didn't". Off the record or not..You talking to RS. I sure the General concerns for his troops safety was its main point. When someone is saying off the record is the journalist out of line for betraying a confidences. I guess I been merged

Tally, we've moved on from that discussion. The question I have been asking "What are you afraid of?" isn't based solely on what joke Paul made. If we can't joke about ourselves (in this case our gov't) than what are you afraid of? So the next time I hear an Obama joke of any kind I will say that it is classless and distasteful no matter who it comes from. BTW, Palin does some pretty classless commentary as does Limbaugh and Beck. O'Reilly has been in a class by himself but is slowly being pushed out by these guys. Pay attention, the matter of discussion has totally changed.
LOL Palin.......Limbaugh.......Beck.....O'Reilly 4 people who NEVER insulted a former President while being honored at the White House by the current President. As well as a comparison to any Obama joke being made by anyone at anytime. THANK YOU for proving my point about political blinders and how so many forum members can TOTALLY misinterpret a clearly written post. (Can't wait for the SNL insults Presidents too reply which I am sure is coming soon)
You missed my point, geeze talk about blinders! SNL already makes jokes about our current President. Do you see anyone here being offended? I don't. I guess you don't actually watch SNL, Jay Leno (boo, hiss), Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, or anyone else who makes jokes about Presidents past and present. As far as the others I have mentioned, they may not have made jokes about past Presidents, I guess you can't count Pres Bill Clinton as being past-a President that was regularly insulted during Bush's regime by the likes of Brusque Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly or the fact that Limbaugh was blatantly stating that he hopes Obama fails the day he became President. Like I said, this discussion has moved on so remove your blinders and move on with it.

Like I said, this discussion has moved on so remove your blinders and move on with it. No, actually YOU missed and keep missing my point as evidenced by you repeatedly writing post after post after post which backs up my point entirely. The more I point out how all the other people getting mentioned have NOTHING absolutely ZERO ....to do with the issue. The more people keep bringing them up. I even laugh about when will a dopey SNL analogy be equated with what Paul did (and you walk right into it and prove my point by rambling on about SNL) And then the cherry on top of the cake is when the same hypocrites who defend Paul's right to free speech (in ANY venue....even the White House) try to tell me the discussion is over and to move on. Once again backing up my point that it was not about "free speech" for some people but about "speech they agree with" Apparently insulting a President who has been out of office well over a year is acceptable but me talking about the insult weeks later it's time to "move on" Thank God for posters like Beatlechick who make it so easy for me to prove my argument. I would NEVER tell you to "move on" because how couold I prove my point without you here to do it for me?

...you lost me at "prove my point"... ...yours are only opinions; theirs are only opinions...why is it is so very important to be "right?"...those who always need to be right keep us all from moving on... ...just an opinion...

[quote="patpatpatti"]...you lost me at "prove my point"... ...yours are only opinions; theirs are only opinions...why is it is so very important to be "right?"...those who always need to be right keep us all from moving on... ...just an opinion... When I say that someone is going to compare Pauls comments to SNL....then they do exactly what I said ...its NOT opinion....its me being right and the poster "proving my point" When I say that the same posters who keep invoking "freedom of speech" do not truly believe in free speech but believe in "speech they agree with" and then I am told by those same people to "shut-up" or "move on" or to "go away" that is me being right and the poster "proving my point" When I keep writing that what Paul said has NOTHING to do with Rush Limbaugh or Hitler or Sara Palin but I guarantee other posters will somehow equate those people with my post in their reply .....then it happens......I am right and they are "proving my point" When I say my offense with Paul's insult is due to ANY President being insulted (at that venue) and has NOTHING to do with whether I like or dislike Bush or agree or disagree with any of his policies then I add that some ignorant posters are going to STILL reply to me talking about Katrina or Iraq or tax cuts.....then they do.......thats me being right.....that is the poster "proving my point" In other words when I say someone is going to do something.....then they do it........that DOES make me right. Hope this clears up your confusion.

And a very well said opinion. Tally, we get it! Time to move on. I said what I said because you wanted it said. The only one ignorant is the one that has to always be right. Subject has changed, move on there's nothing to see here.
