Why?? A small town doesn't need firemen hanging around the firehouse on salary....just as apples mentioned a few posts ago. btw what is wrong with Medicaid?? I don't see a reply yet. This is one of the democrats successes....that was stated a few posts ago.
obviously i didn't say that there was anything wrong with social services for them who really could use it
Medicaid isn't "social services". Of course you didn't say anything.....we are left to interpret your "criptic" emoticons that you hide behind. As EADG mentioned, you can't apparently substantiate your obvious insinuations. that you can't substantiate
So, basically Jaipur and EADG feel that taxpayer paid insurance premiums should favor high income republicans over low income democratic working people?
jaipur:
Perhaps you might learn more about Medicaid...it is not insurance and those enrolled do not pay premiums. It is available to those who meet the income requirements. btw along the lines of the affordable care act Medicaid will expand over the next few years to provide coverage for Americans. And despite your assertion it is available to all Americans who meet the requirements, not simply (your description) "low democratic working people" I find your description obnoxious.
Everyone pays for medical benefits...some more by percentage of income than others...I find your economic perceptions rather nauseating and narcissist.
Thank you for your post....at least we all know now that you hide behind sheer ignorance. Given that the health care act was signed by the president expanding medicaid so that all americans may benefit, not just your self described "low democratic working people", the dismissiveness you display is more nauseating and narcissistic than I could ever reach.

Fireman's salaries are small potatoes compared to the MIC. The US spends 19.3 % of it's budget on military. People sitting around and shuffling paper waiting to fight. And then when people do decide to attack us (9/11) they fail miserably. I think we could reduce our military budget substantially and still take care of threats as they appear. It just takes being responsive and not ignoring threats as bushco did. http://www.visualeconomics.com/how-countries-spend-their-money/ US priorities are messed up.. but we're working on it
More obnoxious dribble from those too ignorant to comprehend. :

That's 2 times now that you've misquoted me in an effort to create your own illusion as to how I feel...that's very sad jaipur...and is a reflection on your character...and the character of those that you support.

That's what the wingers do..they attack the messenger. Facts are a real nuisance to them..they make up their own. Not being reality based they are a real danger sort of a species variant.

It's quite unfortunate that sur and sally are so closed minded that that are unwilling to listen and continue to mistate those they seemingly do not "agree" with. Rather, it is their intention to simply push their own agenda and mislabel those that do not agree 100%with their own intentions and agenda. Pity, that those two seemingly destroy any true discussion here. Once upon a time discussions were plentiful with both sides. Now, that is seemingly unwelcomed. Apparently, they are both willing to character assasinate any of those who do not agree with them 100% and are unwilling to be accountable for their own continued character assassinations in their misguided notion of "balance" discussion. In their own ignorance they fail to see that both (yes both) sides are needed for any true resolution. How unfortunate they chose to do so.

"On the east coast there are "volunteer" firemen...meaning the town does not pay them a salary." ~ Jaipur The town should be ashamed of themselves
Do you think "volunteer" firemen could handle something like this? If this was your neighborhood, you'd want PROFESSIONALS!
Furthemore, firemen do other maintenance and fire prevention work in between calls. And, when there is a major fire, they all get flown to the site of the fire! *This fire was in San Bruno, California, and several people actually died! -
I think you are all missing the point. It cost the Tax payers so much more than it worth to operate. The benefits and amount of firemen.. Most areas had "trained volunteer" which were on call and paid if they were called to a fire.. That how most fire dept worked.. Than the unions got so powerful and the Democrats( yes) started giving them everything to get votes. 950 a day is what one cop or fireman cost the tax payers.. it's insane. I totally on board with cuts in a lot of programs. Reality is 950 dollars a day. this cartoon says it all. http://1.images.theweek.com/img/dir_0057/28618_cartoon_main.jpg?36

Geez I rearranged a few letters in Bohners name and it gets bleeped.
The trick to defeating the bleeper is substituting foreign letters that LOOK like the English ones: For example: Fuçk, Suçk, Çunt, Shït, and Åsshole This page shows how to insert the special characters: http://www.yellowpipe.com/yis/tools/ALT-Characters/index.php#ALT_Character_Example
You forgot the dirtiest one: PÅlin.
Haven't you heard? She now known as whats her face. If she won't go away we'll just make her go away. I can't hear you naw naw naw!!

If we had a one payer system in this country we would A) take out the profits going to insurance companies. B) allow for sick or people with bad health to be productive and not have to keep there income down so they can get health care.. it just insane are system. When I was a kid.. No one worried if you could pay for health care. It was when government started giving it to all the government workers and than the unions started demanding it for all there people that insurance company sprung up to services the government payments. Than abuse started and here we are today. Most people number on need is health care. If we all paid into one pool there be so much profits that it wouldn't cost the tax payer anything. Remember for those who are seriously ill sadly its usually for a short time. for those who are living with some condition usually it manageable. When you start putting future traders in the mix...you don't think we are going to have death panels..we going to have death panels. They have a bottom line. Soon they be instructing doctors to just not discuss option.

i think its a crime against humanity that the 'well off' would be bitter about paying for the health care of the 'poor'. it should be 'means tested' if you can afford it? pay for it,if you cant afford it ? the state should help SIMPLES way too much selfishness and greed out there, way too much.

Which is why I do not understand that ridiculous "socialist" label on President Obama. That healthcare legislation is an expansion of the current profit-based, insurance-company system...as well as (again) quite similar to what the Republicans OFFERED as a compromise to Hillary Clinton's universal healthcare ambitions in the early '90s. I was disappointed that single-payer healthcare was never even on the table. I am all for business and profit -- but those should not be dynamics when it comes to education, our sick and our elderly. That's the basic platform for liberals, as we are called. And, yet, these laughably labeled fiscal conservatives give tax breaks to companies that employ everyone but Americans. Republican Senators are whores for big business.

I wish there were true Dem and True Rep. I think we need to embrace the saying "The Parties over" Its US against THEM. Corp VS the american worker. There just is no true party. We vote in Dem they do as much destruction as the Rep just on a different level. Lets review. We're still in a war and not only Iraq but now Afghanistan Banks still have the same laws in place that did in this country and world economy. Health care bill a fucking joke. It force people to join a broken fucking system. Cops and Firemen (already over fucking paid) gets a bailout. They should been layoff not given tax payer raises. What have the Dem done any differently. They say one thing than vote another.

Admittedly, I have my suspicions that the two parties are really one party, too.

If you lived in this neighborhood you would thank God for the police!
-
Yes, the democrats are necessary to balance our budgets http://zfacts.com/p/318.html, fund education, provide a safety net for citizens, protect citizens from abusive employers, add jobs to the economy http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2010/jan/25/carolyn-maloney/congresswoman-says-democratic-presidents-create-mo/ etc, etc, etc, And what do the republicans do other than make the rich richer? Sorry, but for those who think both political partys are needed I beg to differ If you disagree just tell me what the republicans have done that makes them indispensable??
-

...If you disagree just tell me what the republicans have done that makes them indispensable??
If I were an American CEO, a blindly religious southerner, a racist, a sexist, a hypocrite, a homophobe, a war mongerer, a person oblivious to the surplus we had under Clinton, or perhaps a person blind to what Bush and the Republican-controlled Congress did with that surplus... ...they would be irreplacable.

Golf is Back! Obama?s 60th Outing as President by Keith Koffler on March 5, 2011, 2:26 pm Well, the mercury has crept back up above 60 degrees here in Washington, and so it?s time once again for President Obama to head out to the golf course. ... George W. Bush gave up golfing in 2003, explaining why he did it in a 2008 interview with POLITICO. complete article: http://www.whitehousedossier.com/2011/03/05/golf-2/

And...?
-
I assume Boehner must be golfing excessively because I haven't seen one act regarding job-creation from him since winning the Speakership. Not one.
