What's the weather like where you are?
-
Monday afternoon here. 88 degrees. Sunny. Hailey, I hope you are all right, too. Be safe.
-
Been seeing the typhoon on the news. Hope you are safe Hailey.

Oh Lord, don't even ask...I came here to escape the Hurricane Florence devastation reminders for awhile...Macca's helping cheer me up again for a spell. He's got a way of charging to the rescue like when the Fabs came along shortly after JFK's murder in the U.S.

I was never in any danger. Typhoon Manghut was the strongest storm of the year, so far, and the biggest to hit Hong Kong since 1983, but I live in a unique location. Almost every typhoon that hits Hong Kong has to get through the Philippines and/or Taiwan first. Those islands are our protectors. Even a category 5 super typhoon slows down after it hits land.
Hong Kong is also a very vertical city. Even when we get a lot of flooding, it doesn't affect most of our homes. It's not so great for public transportation or cars parked under ground, but most houses are safe.
But what really separates Hong Kong from someplace like North Carolina is the infrastructure. Given a choice, voters in the United States would rather risk death and destruction than spend an extra one cent in taxes to make their neighborhood safer. While even the smallest hurricanes can wreak havoc in the eastern United States, it takes a category 5 for us to take notice. Recovering from a hurricane in the United States can take years, and the aftermath can often be worse than the storm. Over here, we are up and running a day or two after it passes.

45F with a 35F windchill. Yesterday it was 92F and humid
-
We broke the record on Thursday - High was 91! Supposed to be the same on Friday and Saturday. Lows in high 60s.
-
Rain from Sergio
-
72 right now. Wednesday high to be 81, low 72. 60% chance of rain from Hurricane Michael. The worst is south of us.

Hard to comprehend something that powerful ....
I am thankful for improvements in Warning Systems that have people evacuate and there are lesser lives lost, even though they feel like they have lost everything - the people themselves are still alive and safe by comparison to have been caught in it.
By comparison, I can't (and won't) complain about anything weather wise at this time. General weather report ... much cooler and much grayer and the night too early, but that is just the way it is and always has been.
-
61 now. Got up to 79 (and sunny) today. Friday supposed to be gorgeous with high of 75. 0% chance of rain.
-
Yesterday & today in the low 40s! Just a day after being 85 & humid! We went from A/C & shorts to heat & winter coats!
-
Snow this morning ... more than I thought we would get. . Some stuck and has stayed into the early afternoon... it is suppose to change to a snow-rain mix... still feels cold enough to stay as snow at this time .. in the 30 degree freezin'heit range.
-
Snow, cold and windy brrrrrrr!!
-
I'm singing in the rain, I'm singing in the rain!
-
Snow here too. OMG COLD! 31 and going lower overnight. The wind just makes it worse. BRRRRR

I lived in Sacramento and Los Angeles for a combination of 29 years, I hope the Fireman get control of the fires soon! My Sister still lives in Yuba City, California near Marysville which is about 35 miles outside of Sacramento. Yuba City is growing so much that pretty soon Sacramento and Yuba City will be joining together soon. When I last drove down 99, both cities were growing closer and closer together, have they joined together yet?

I hope they are able to get both under control soon too. Yuba City/Sacramento I'm not sure about. I'm only up in the Sacramento area for concerts.
