21st Century Paul:
Standings for the Fantasy Football Macca Board League (UEFA EURO 2012), one match to go # Team Manager Points this round Overall points 1 www.oliversanz.com 21st Century Paul 50 250 2 La Furia Blaugrana unclesox 38 249 3 Three Lions XI Daniel 35 192 The closest ever. Unclesox can still use the wildcard so do as many changes as he wants. I'd have to stick with my players and some changes. Any words you want to say Unclesox? It's never been so close!
The semifinals really hurt my team. I'm in six "classic leagues" and I was in first place in four of them. Now I'm in first place in only two. In one league there are 84 people (!) and I was top three for most of the tournament but now I'm sitting in 8th place. But yes, I still have my wildcard so that should help me. Otherwise I think you can only make four changes for the final. Oh well, win or lose it's all in fun.
Well, the German players didn't give you many points, you expected more of Germany. I'm gonna wait till the lineups are announced to do the changes, even though it is possible I can not login then. lol I can't change my team much, you know. You can choose all Italy, all Spain... well, Spain is too expensive I think.

Another talk these days is the Golden Ball. Some say Pirlo, Casillas, Iniesta... In the past, when it was decided by journalists, winning championships mattered a lot. But now it's the players and the coaches who vote, so I don't think there can be others winner than Messi or, if ever, Cristiano.

Damn, I really thought Germany would win this year. But again Italy. It's a pitty. The German team was just too bad that day, no one was good (maybe Özil, Khedira, Klose, Reus and Neuer not as bad as the others). Esp. Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Podolski and Gomez were worse than ever. They all were afraid of Italy. And Balotelli will never shoot a goal like the second one in that way again. I'm really disappointed. Now I hope for Spain at the final.

Dance I tried to tell you Germany have a bit to go before they can think about winning the big prizes again, did you listen Noooooooooooooo

I guess I'm alone in pulling for an Italian victory. GO ITALY!!

If they weren't playing Spain I'd probably be rooting for Italy to win. They've been surprisingly refreshing to watch this tournament. I don't think many expected much from them after recent performances: Two years ago they failed to advance out of the group stage in the Worlkd Cup - couldn't even beat New Zealand! - and this year leading up to this tournament they lost to the U.S. (at home!) for the first time ever and got thrashed 3-0 by Russia. But the past three weeks they've played some entertaining football, something you don't normally associate with the Italian game, and they have a very likeable cast of characters as well. In Cassano and Balotelli they have perhaps the most unpredictable strike partnership duo a team has ever fielded, and I'm talking mentally not footballing form. It's almost a miracle that Cassano is involved at all given the heart condition that kept him out of action for five months this past season. Milan gave up on Pirlo but he had a splendid season with Juventus helping them win the league... So I'm hoping Spain win but I won't be too disappointed if Italy takes home the prize.

If Italy wins it would be a victory for football anyway. (Unless they play violent...). First you've got Pirlo 33, so what?, if someone can play he can play. Cruyff was asked yesterday for his impression about the Tournament. He gave the tournament 6.5 or 7 out of 10. Especially for Italy, transformed from boring almost ugly to entertaining, almost beautiful. He didn't say the same bout England, as you may guess... Prandelli says he's going to play with 4 defenders, not 3, and try to steal the ball from Spain. Cruyff talked about the 2 things that a passing-around team (like Spain) can do if the other team goes for the ball. One is the long ball, searching a fast forward. He says that has mostly failed on Barça. And the other is keep passing anyway, and search for a fast wing (What Barça uses to do), that will have lots of space. Certainly Spains needs the forward (Torres) or the wing (Pedro, Navas). If Torres, they need someone to make that pass (Ramos?) and if Pedro they need a lot of skill on passing in the defense. And I think Arbeloa spoils that. It's not so black and white. Torres uses to move to the wing, I think he is the best option. Another thing it could happen is Spain playing with 3 defenders, that uses to happen if they're losing. This is the team I would like to see but it's not going to happen, at least at the beginning. ---------------Casillas-------------- --------Pique-------Martinez----- Ramos-----Busquets--------Alba ------Xavi------------Cesc---------- ------------My neighbour-------- ---------Silva---------Torres------ Mata, Arbeloa and Alonso as substitutes or a 3-5-2 with Alonso for Martinez Casillas; Ramos, Pique, Alba; Alonso, Busquets; Cesc, Xavi: Iniesta; Silva, Torres

When did you tell me that? And no, of course I don't listen to you. And we've waited long enough, since 1996, now it's time that Germany win again. But unfortunately we have to wait at least another two years.

That's the difference between Italy and Germany. Italy has some bad guys with balls like Cassano and Balotelli, Germany just nice guys who every grandmother likes. You don't win anything with just these kind of players, you need some of the bad guys too.

Nope. When Scotland fail to reach any tournament Italy are my team. They need to win not just for Italy but for the rest of world football. Spain have been boring for years. Pirlo has won every tournament he has ever entered except the Euro's. Time to add that one to the collection. Best midfielder in the world.

I love both teams...really. But my fave player is Balotelli..brilliant
-
COME ON SPAIN!!! ¡Vamos España! Todos con la roja!!
-
Spain has got 2 cracking goals in the first half...and no doubt the second half will bring much of the same. Italy are being walked all over. Spain really are are doing to Italy what Italy did to Germany!
-
Spain are amazing!!!! Second half will be more of the same I'm sure! #45minutosdenervios #Vayamaquina!!!
-
4-0!!!!!!
-
4-0! Brilliant playing from Spain! Italy would have been better off not turning up! Worthy Euro 2012 winners!
