Hello Denny! Can you predict the score of the Germany - Poland match on Wednesday? Here in Poland we believe the Polish will score three goals, the Germans nill! Klose 1:0 Podolski 2:0 Borowski 3:0 ops:
Well, it just goes to show that we're culturally more diverse than most people think. On the other hand, I think that only Klose was born in Poland, also Polish sounding names can be misleading. I myself have a Polish sounding surname but my family has been here for centuries.
Mirosław Klose was 8 when his family moved to Germany. Mirek's mother played for a volleyball team in Poland, and if I remember right it was a first leage team. Mirek's father was a sportsman too.

45' CZE sub Koller off injured Lokvenc on
Koller grabbed his right hamstring (which was already bandaged up) while chasing a ball. His expression suggested a serious injury. I hope he's able to continue in the tournament because his tall figure is a strong presence in the attack.

Yes, they left in 1986. PM for you PS: The Polish may score a fourth goal Sobolewski, own-goal!

I like Podolski, mainly because I'm a fan of Koln. But with Koln now relegated, Podolski has moved on to Bayern. He was likely to move there anyway even if Koln had avoided the drop because he was a big talent on a small club. Still, I hate Bayern.

Jurgen Klinsmann is as much of a good coach as a player he used to be So it seems

Yeah, everyone does! (except for their many fans and members, of course ) How did you become a fan of Köln?

I heard about the Australia vs Japan match. Well done Aussies. 1 down then score 3 goals in the last 6 minutes, great stuff. Something I know us English have to bear in mind, because we are often blamed for relaxing when we are winning - just proves it isnt over until the referee blows his whistle!

50' Koller shown walking with a noticable limp but giving the fans a thumbs up 51' CZE Poborsky freekick cross from the right, Ujfalusi near post header from 10 yds wide of far left post 60' USA Reyna booked for foul on Plasil

I began following the sport in 1978. They used to show Bundesliga matches every week over here at that time and Koln were a very good side. They won the league and Pokal double in 1978. How old are you? Do you remember names like Toni Schumacher, Harold Konopka, Herbert Neumann, Heinz Flohe, Herbert Zimmermann, Dieter Muller, the Japanese player Okudera... a young Pierre Littbarski played a couple of matches as sub then but didn't get into the first team until a year later.

I must say that your interest in football is older than me. I was born in 1980 but I know the more famous players of the past, too, at least the German ones since they're often referenced or turn up as coaches or managers.

62' CZE Nedved right foot cross from left edge of area, Poborsky runs in at the far right post and slams right footed just high and wide of right post 68' CZE Rosicky another right foot blast from 30-35yds slams high off the crossbar and back into play 70' USA Johnson left foot rocket from 25yds center flashes just wide of left post 71' USA Johnson creates another opening from 15 yds right side of box but his left footer is this time blocked 75' played

76' Nedved sends Rosicky away breaking the offside trap, Rosicky takes it into left side of area and left foots into right corner of the net past Keller Czech Rep 3-0 Absolute heartbreak.

ALRIGHT!! Someone else is familiar with Toby Charles!! I (half-)jokingly like to refer to him as my hero. I NEVER missed that show. My friends never got into it, but I credit that program for making me the huge "sawker" nut that I am.
