You english are just pathetic!!! Rooney was a **** by stamping on Carvalhos nuts, and now it's Ronaldo's fault!!! Jesus!!! Just like to remind you what happened in the last years: Euro 2000, Euro 2004 and WC 2006 Portugal > England Porto > Man United Sporting > Boro and Newcastle Benfica > Man United and Liverpool And who's the Manager that got the last 2 premier leagues: José Mourinho! I don't remember any English team or the National team get past through us!!! And all you have to say is always the same excuse...the diving!!! Get real!!! PORTUGAL!!!
Hey Ern!!! How've you been? It's been a long time since your last visit to the bar. You must go there more often... We all love it when you sing Doors at the karaoke! As for the World Cup, what do they know, right? Come and watch the match with France at the bar on the big screen. We always have a fantastic atmosphere.

Everything is normal in football land. And now, France, what do you prefer: Croissant or Champagne?
Glad to see you enjoy normalcy. 1984: France 3-2 Portugal after extra time 2000: France 2-1 Portugal after extra-time Portugal and semifinals don't mix too well. Bet on the champagne.
The diference is that I'm quite aware of that! Whatever the result - statistically, we've already lost, right? - you won't see me blaming the referee, the coach or whatever! We don't have the arrogance to believe we are the best team in the world until we proove it in the green. That's what's so dificult for England supporters to acomplish. Every 2 years, Euro and World Cups, they think they'll make it with an arrogance out of this world. What's more incredible than the arrogance is the fact that they don't learn...

You could be right about this so-called "English arrogance". Perhaps it stems from their winning a tournament on home soil. Something Portugal failed to do two years ago when presented a golden opportunity to do so, likewise Sporting Lisboa in that UEFA Cup final humiliation. Tremendous failures in front of your home supporters such as those is enough to keep anyone from appearing - let alone gloating - on a message board. Well, at least until their team has reached the World Cup semifinals in a manner that has yet to gain favor with many outside their own supporters. Still, this thread is 98 pages long. Since you've been participating in this thread from the start, how about giving us some reminders of this supposed "English arrogance" you enjoy ridiculing by providing a few quotes before I decide whether I should take you seriously or not? Btw, you might want to r?mind your Portug?$? buddy ov?r th?r? that Mourinho may hav? b??n th? manag?r of th? t?am that ha$ won th? £a$t two Pr?mi?r$hip tit£?$, but h?'$ NOT th? main r?a$on why th? beatle, I dont know one English person who is more arrogant and than me winning or losing I still say "BRAZIL is the best". Okay, I have a good reason to say it. WE have 5 stars. Arrogance is a relative thing. If you have complex of superiority like me, you dont recognize arrogance in others. I said once Gerrard was arrogant, because he thought his Liverpool would beat São Paulo. Now I think he is ok, he missed a penalty kick, I cant see arrogance in a person like him anymore.

Oh, man!!! Ouch!!! That one alone is a perfect good example of what I meant! Sadly, you didn't mention Benfica kicking Manchester United and Liverpool out of Champions League. Strange memory...

Now I'm being serious with the following advice: never take a discussion about football seriously! It's impossible for a football discussion to achieve such a status. Anyway, I wasn't mentioning this thread in particular, I was referring to the blogsphere. Go to technorati.com and do a search on terms like "Rooney", "World Cup", "Portugal", "England", etc... If you do it open minded, I'm sure you'll find a lot of examples to illustrate the English arrogance. And then, maybe not!

Again, your memory is playing tricks... You forgot to mention that in the two previous years before going to Chelsea, Mourinh won the UEFA Cup and the Champions League with FC Porto, a team with a modest budget when compared to the traditional European giants, English included. One final note: I think it's so sad that SOME England supporters spend most of their energies blaming the ref or their own coach for their results. After all, England reached the quarters and it's my conviction that any team that reaches the quarters can become World Champs. The teams at that stage are simply so balanced that it's the luck of a single game that decides everything. If the quarters matches were to be repeated tomorrow, I'm sure we would have diferent results. Also, England played better with only 10, after Rooney saw the (deserved) red card. That shows brilliantism from their players. England supporters don't seem to care about that, unfortunately!

I think you'll be hard pressed to reconcile unclesox, beatle, while having a Ronaldo avatar... By the way, I don't think, unclesox is a real England supporter, he's not even English. I supported England, too, but I wouldn't see myself as a typical England supporter since I'm neither male, ugly nor violent, speak more than half a language and am only sometimes anti-German.

Ok, having your advice in consideration I just changed my avatar! I hope unclesox will tolerate me more from now on. At least, I'm sure everyone will give Ricardo the credit he deserves for what he did.

You wish to talk about last season's Champions League campaign? I'm all for that! So remind me then. How did Benfica fair after kicking ManU and Liverpool out of that tournament?

If it's not this message board you have a problem with, why show up suddenly and go on about "English arrogance"? That you've finally decided to post here and talk your stuff only after your team has overachieved by reaching the semifinals says a lot more about you than you can ever say about fans of other teams.

I didn't forget anything. I'm just mearly reminding your friend that if he wants to talk about the accomplishments of Mourinho, he needs to look deeper than what his nationality is. Defeating the likes of RC Lens, Denizlispor, Panathinaikos, Celtic, Lyon, Deportivo and Monaco in a knock-out cup competition is one thing. Outlasting Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool in a long, drawn-out season takes more than simply teaching arrogance to your players. It takes the convenience of Roman Abramovich's deep pockets to help achieve that type of success.

I remember Ricardo. He was third choice keeper behind Tim Howard and Roy Carroll (HA!) at Manchester United at one time. By using his image as an avatar in recognition of his great accomplishment against England during that penalty kick victory... Well, let's face it. Is ANY spot kick victory over England really something of noteworthy significance?

Yeah, well, I guess you could come to the same result with any number of numbers and mathematical functions. I wouldn't rely on that. I have my doubts whether Germany will really beat Italy but since it's the last team I support that's still in the tournament, I hope they do.

ok, Germany versus Italy germany 2 Italy -2 and Germany wins Portugal 2 France -1 either i win big or i loose big

Yeah today we'll get Italy - and go to the final game on Sunday!
