21st Century Paul:
Henry have started playing in Barcelona just not being Henry, kind of not recovered for some injury. He just couldn't run and played walking anyway. Recently he has played two or three games doing as good as always, but he has get so tired he haven't able to play the next game. I guess he's still on recovery of the injury.
Sounds familiar..... Maybe he is getting too old for footie now as he always seemed to be out on the really important Arsenal games. Mind you, i'm not confident about the FA Cup match on Saturday as most of Arsenal's key players are injured. Think that Man U will get a better result....... What is wrong with Arsenal as always seem to get a lot of injuries each season?

Well, people out of Arsenal, like Henry, says Wenger (thinking of a translation...)... "forced them to the max".
-
Think you are right about that 21st Century Paul.

Maybe, but I think Henry is phisicaly bad now, not only mentaly... : He acctualy didnt play well last season with Wenger too

If Dubai Investment Capital, who are on the verge of buying Liverpool Football Club (with some advice given by a certain Mr Dein, formally of Arsenal) replace Rafa Benitez they will look to either Jose Mourinho (who apparently is sitting by the phone waiting for their call) or Arsene Wenger. They've served their apprenticeships at inferior, minor football clubs now they can try managing a big one.

Mourinho said his next job would not be in the Premier League. Having said that, I'm sure he'd love the opportunity to lead Liverpool against Chelsea. I think he'll end up at either Milan or somewhere in Germany. Wenger? Eh, reports in Catalonia have Barcelona possibly making a move for him too. I doubt he'll leave Arsenal. Why would he? He's built up another good side, full of youngsters that are both getting the results and playing attractive football and has the ability to go far for many years to come. He'd be crazy to leave now.

I don' t want to even talk about last season!!!! Wenger said at the end that "it had been a bit of a disappoining season for Arsenal" This was an understatement as it was the worst season ever!

Barcelona? I don't think Rijkaard will leave after this season. Laporta has already stated that Rijkaard is welcomed to stay if he wants to as long as he's president. Bayern is out for now since they've just named Klinsmann to take over beginning next season. Milan is my first choice he'll end up, but Stuttgart may ask him since they're not doing so well this season. But I think he'd love to coach Schalke. They've never won the Bundesliga, despite coming heartbreakingly close on many occasions, and their stadium was the site of his greatest triumph while at Porto. He's already God at Stamford Bridge and he'd become God to Schalke fans if he were to bring the Bundesliga title to Gelsenkichen.

Yeah he might end up in milan, forgot about that... and Schalke acctualy won the league in 1934, 1935, 1937, 1939, 1940, 1942, 1958

That was back when the German championship was the Oberliga, a knock-out tournament played amongst the champions of each region. The Bundesliga as it's played today, with a league table, was formed in 1963. Schalke have never won the Bundesliga and their fans have had the rug pulled out from under them on a few occasions, most notably the 2000/2001 season.

In 1976/77 Monchengladbach had a two point lead over Schalke going into the last round of matches. With Gladbach playing away to Bayern and Schalke having the better goal difference there was hope. But Gladbach drew 2:2 to assure them of the title. Schalke's 4:2 win over Dortmund was to no avail (2 points for a win back then). The 1971-72 season had a great finish. Schalke played away to Bayern and both clubs were level on points. Bayern had the better goal difference so Schalke had to win to claim the title, but Bayern came out 5:1 winners. 2000/2001 was the worst. Schalke defeated Unterhaching 5:3 and watched on the giant video board as Bayern scored against Hamburg in the fourth minute of injury time to snatch the Bundesliga title from their grasp. And just last season Schalke had a chance to win the title but lost in the penultimate week to rivals Dortmund allowing Stuttgart to overtake them and win the title the following week.

Wolves... ... out of the FA Cup. But Bristol Rovers shockingly moves on after beating Southampton. Meanwhile at Anfield...

Since I'm not that big of a soccer...er, I mean 'football' fan...my only contribution will be that when I lived in Tampa back in the late 70's and early 80's, we had the 'Rowdy's'...Their little jingle on the radio used to be 'The Rowdies are...a kick in the grass!!!' I almost became a soccer fan a couple of years ago when that female player scored a goal and decided to copy what a lot of the men players do and rip her shirt off

Ah yes, the Tampa Bay Rowdies. From the old NASL, or North American Soccer League. I was a big San Jose Earthquakes fan back then. I hated the New York Cosmos with a passion. Soccer's answer to the Yankees. So much money they could buy any player they wanted. Chelsea and Real Madrid are today's New York Cosmos. Some of those old NASL teams survive today but play in lower leagues, like the Vancouver Whitecaps and Seattle Sounders. The San Jose franchise from MLS was orginally called the Clash but changed their name to the Earthquakes to bring back a bit of nostalgia, although they wear blue and black instead of the much-loved red and black from the NASL days. I still have a few NASL magazines from back around 1978-1982. The league folded in '84.
-
That's right Didn't Pele'(sp) jump ship to play in that league?
-
Yeah. Came out of retirement and had to ask his countrymen to forgive him for playing outside of Brazil. Played for the Cosmos. They also had Franz Beckenbauer, probably Germany's greatest ever player. And Giorgio Chinaglia, the biggest horse's @ss there ever was. God, I hated that team.

FA Cup Liverpool 1 - 2 Barnsley Beaten in the last seconds by a lower division club......come in Mr Benitez your time is up!
-
Arsenal 0 - Man U 4 What did i say last night?!! Think that Man U might have been a bit nicer with just 1 or 2 goals. Arsenal - what are you playing at!!!!! I' really hope that Chelsea get knocked out in the next round.
