I choosed Ibra as my captain and he was sent off at the end. I didn't know this could happen but now I can't replace it for other player, and most importantly I can't change the captain, lol. So my captain will score -2 points this round.
-
I think Daniel has quit playing the Fantasy as he hasn't made substitutions, some Chelsea players are still on his team, for instance...
-
I think Daniel abandoned one team but is still playing the other. And to be honest I quite certain he's also "seltaeb1976". He had a lot of problems signing up so had kept creating teams using different email addresses. In any event he's below both of us no matter which team he's using. I'm around 30 points behind but not giving up. I'm just very happy Barcelona were able to complete the 'remuntada'. Oliver, what did you make of the Nani red card against Real Madrid?

A very controversial red card... It depends if one thinks Nani does that in deliberate way or not. It seems that, just a second before kicking Arbeloa he looks at him and so knows what's going to happen.
-
The argument of those who say the red card was justified is that Nani saw Arbeloa (when the ball is cleared from the area Nani took a quick look behind to see who was near then put his eyes back on the ball, so he had to know Arbeloa was nearby) and that after Nani's foot caught Arbeloa's body he extended his leg, which would satisfy the "excessive force" language of Law 12.
When I first saw it live I thought it was very harsh and I was very angry, mainly because I wanted Real to lose. But having taken off my rose-colored glasses and seeing many replays, I agree the call was justified. It was a fascinating contest up to then, but once Nani was gone the game completely changed. Great list of teams in the quarterfinals. The tournament is really up for grabs. Glad Malaga was able to advance. -

Glad Malaga was able to advance.I think it IS a red card, but that hardly the referee could see that Nani looked at Arbeloa for less than a second. It had to be intuition to tell the difference from when a player raises the leg like that to control the ball or when a player raises it to kick other player. Pretty much like a deliberate or not deliberate handball.

Soooo... Sir Alex Ferguson has decided to finally call it a career. Although with 'Fergie time' added on this means he won't retire until October. I know there used to be a few Red Devil supporters on this forum in the past - Daniel, Sarah F (?) - and I can't help but wonder if they've shed any tears yet. And do you like the imminent appointment of David Moyes taking over or would you rather have Mourinho? Or someone else? (Has Pardew ruled himself out yet? )

So it's over now. Champions League for Bayern, they have deserved it this year... anyway it just had to happen that some goal of the final match was after an offside... well... Final scores of our Fantasy Football league 1 me 731 2 unclesox 645 3 seltaeb 562 4 daniel 456 Some prize for myself... A more than hour compilation of Laudrup passes

now it's Barça signing Neymar and probably Real Madrid signing Bale. The main problem of these 2 teams are the other team, lol. I mean needing 100 points to win the Spanish League. That makes them giving no rest to their best 12-13 players or so. So in the end of the season they're too tired to win the Champions League. Singing a top big star is more of the same. Bale or Neymar will probably play almost every game and they'll be tired in May 2014... I would prefer 4 players of a cost of 25 milion instead of a player of a cost of 100 milion.

UEFA Champions League Fantasy Football.is back! http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/library/redirect/_fantasy.html I've renewed our "Macca Board league". Oliver and Daniel should automatically be re-entered once they've selected their teams. If anyone else is interested in joining the please feel free. New players are always welcome. Here's the code to join in: 950905-484321 And if anyone is interested I'll try and set up a league for the UEFA Europa League sometime later this week. World Cup is quickly approaching!

Standings for Matchday 1 (I just forgot to make the substitutions but the automatic substitutions fixed it a little bit) Daniel 106 Unclesox 85 Me 80

Standings for Matchday 2 (I forgot, again, to make the substitutions, or kind of... When I tried to do them the match of Moscow had already started) 1 Daniel 159 2 Unclesox 142 3 Me 139

Some of my players got suspended or injured so I've already spent my wildcard for this round.
-
I transferred 4 players. One was free but the other three cost me six points. Btw, just a heads up that if fifa.com has a World Cup fantasy football game in June I'll likely start a league for us. I can't remember if we played it in the past but just in case you may want to register ahead of time. How about Switzerland being a seeded team? Crazy. At least arguments can be made for Belguim and Colombia, but Suisse?! Uruguay also a seed but if they fail in the playoff against Jordan then Holland becomes a seed. Italy the one who loses out. They had a terrible World Cup in 2010 but reached the final of EURO 2012. With Italy and Holland not seeded the potential for a couple of 'groups of death' is very possible. Belgium seems to be everyone's 'dark horse' sleeper team. They certainly look good on paper. Still hoping Spain can win it again but I honestly can't see any European team winning it on South American soil. Argentina and Brasil are my two favorites if I had to bet on a winner. Can't wait for it all to begin.
-
Yes, I guess I'll be on our fantasy for the world cup. The greatest miss, IMO, is that Cristiano or Ibrahimovic will be out of the World Cup as Portugal plays the knockout against Sweden. Then it's the "Diego Costa affair", quite strange as he could play these months with Brazil and also with Spain. He can play with both until he plays an official match with one of them but there's none till the world cup.

Oh-oh, it's getting close to that time again! Copa do Mundo da FIFA Brasil 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 Coupe du Monde de la FIFA Brésil 2014 FIFA Fussball-Weltmeisterschaft Brasilien 2014 Copa Mundial de FIFA Brasil 2014 Coppa del Mondo de FIFA Brasile 2014 FIFAワールドカップブラジル2014 FIFA 월드컵 브라질 2014 FIFA世界杯2014年巴西 كأس العالم البرازيل 2014 FIFA There's a fantasy game available on fifa.com. http://en.mcdonalds.fantasy.fifa.com/ You can't select any players until June 8 - the tournament begins on June 12 - but you must register with fifa.com and then register for the game in order to play. Once the game becomes available I'll start a 'Macca Board League' for anyone here who's interested in playing. Usually it's only Oliver (21st Century Paul), Daniel and myself who play but we welcome all comers. Purely for fun. Any predictions? I'll be rooting for Spain but I'm picking Argentina to win it all.

Hi unclesox and everyone. Here I am just before the end of the Champions League. Standings of our league. 1 me 680 points 2 Daniel 678 3 unclesox 640 As for the World Cup Spain seems to be in a strange moment where nobody except Iniesta is sure to be in the starting XI, lots of possibilities, so lots of doubts too.

I would say Ramos, Alba, Busquets, Xabi Alonso and Iniesta are definite starters. Probably Piqué and Casillas as well. Valdes was in great form all season and may have had a chance at starting in goal but with him out through injury it has to be Casillas. De Ge perhaps the backup? Very surprised Arbeloa didn't make the team. I wish Albiol had been left out instead. No idea who the striker will be with Diego Costa looking uncertain. Torres may get the start through default. Maybe David Villa. So many great options in midfield although I think Xavi's time has run out. Isco probably deserved a spot in the team.
