I'm hearing right now Etoo on Spanish radio, yes, Cadena Ser. He says that playing as good as today, they will win the semifinals... As I guess everyone, I've been deceived by the match.
Cristiano Ronaldo on Sky Sports: "We created more chances than Barcelona." :
well, yes it's true . Man Utd got one, the penalty, and Barça none, in spite of shooting from strange places...
-

Once again, Cristiano Ronaldo proves that when it comes to the big stage against a quality side, he fails to deliver. Lost count on how many times that's happened.
21st Century Paul:
Great show from the ManUtd! ??? I think that if they met Barça at semifinals they can score 7 goals.
Barcelona with 67% possession. 21 shots at goal (8 on target) compared to United's 6 (1). With United likely being more of attacking mind next week, I'm hoping gaps will be created for Messi to exploit.
It looks like Cristiano is one of those players that is very good with lots of spaces, but not if there are defenders... like Etoo or Messi themselves.... Yes, Barça shooted at lot, but that didn't mean a thing, Van der Sar didn't do much... they were all shoots that couldn't get in. I hope we're gonna see the "REAL MATCH" next week.

8 shots on target compare to the one penalty miss. Eto'o should've scored early in the second half. Beautiful passing by Messi to Deco to Messi to Iniesta, flick backheel to Eto'o who shot into the side netting. Would've been a class goal.

What about the other matchup. You think Liverpool can get the job done or is Chelsea in Moscow? I think Liverpool can score one but I don't know if it will be enough. Maybe penalties again.

It was more than what United did.

Shots on target don't mean much if they don't become goals.... they were not dangerous anyway... the more dangerous one was the penalty on the bar. Etoo hadn't any space to put the ball to get a goal really, it's just shooting for the sake of shooting.

I don't know, I haven't watched the game much. I guess Chelsea is gonna defence back, then it would be hard for Liverpool to score a goal. Torres is not that kind of a striker. But Chelsea is not very dangerous in counter attacks either.... I don't think Liverpool's gonna score but I don't know them well, I don't know what kind of player is Kuyt really, he was sharp to catch that ball and score, if he does it again, that's the way for Liverpool.

I guess you missed Henry's two shots saved by Van Der Sar. He couldn't handle one (had to punch it) because it was too wicked (it 'knuckled' is how we say it here), and the other was the free kick. Henry or Yaya needs to take more free kicks.

Both shots went to the hands of the keeper, it weren't hard to stop. And anyway that doesn't matter much in the end, if not the Spain team could still think about... "oh we almost made a goal five times" etc. And if it's about this... the penalty was by far the most dangeous shoot!. Today I've seen a video on the news that shows that Cristiano Ronaldo does, before shooting the penalty, the same gestures that Johnny Wilkinson do (maybe that's why the ball went too high ). He could try a rabona penalty too. I tried once and I hit the post, I think there's no need of risking so much, before once you do the rabona the goalkeeper doesn't make a move.

Any shot on target is dangerous because one of three things can happen: 1) the goalkeeper has to work to keep the ball out; 2) the shot hits the goal frame; 3) it's a goal. Just because it's not a goal doesn't mean it's not meaningful. At the very least Ferguson will have to figure out how to keep Barca from getting off shot opportunities because one deflection or an outstretched leg by a defender could prove vital. C.Ronaldo missed the penalty because he couldn't handle the pressure. Nothing new there. Around the 25 minute mark he was running down the right on a counter attack and lost the ball without any challenge from a defender. Critics of C.Ronaldo say that as great a talent he looks against the likes of Bolton, Wigan and Fulham, he fails to deliver in the big games against quality opposition, especially away from Old Trafford. So it proved last night at Camp Nou. In my mind, attempting a rebona penalty serves no purpose other than to humiliate and embarrass the opposition. Same with Kerlon and his stupid "foquina" dribble. Players who do those crap sort of things need to be elbowed in the jaw when the referee isn't looking.

Intheskywithdiamonds Good luck with the game on Saturday. I really hope that Man U win but there are still 3 points between the two teams. Please please please don't let Chelsea win as it will give them a better chance of winning the League. And I really don't want that!! As for the Gunners ................ lost interest. Yet again.

thanks! I think it will be a draw... dont know why... anyway, if that happens, it's fine... As for the Champions league, I thought the game was pretty boring (Man U X Barca), Barcelona did play better, but created nothing... If Cristiano scored that early goal, things would have been much different, dont really know what would have happened... anyway, draw was ok for united, thats what they wanted anyway...

Attempting a rabona in a penalty is not a lack of respect, it's just a way to get it in. Like shooting in the Panenka way or make a dribbling. Maybe if you win 4-0 and you shoot a penalty in a rabona way, it could be something unrespectful, but if you're 0-0 it's because it's your way to do it really. If not we would not have any "jogo bonito". No Laudrup passes, no Garrincha dribbling... no Ronie things, no Pele, no Maradona, no Beckenbauer, no Di Stefano, no Zidane... it simply wouldn't be a show. Now, after all the violence there is in football... I don't think anything you can do with the ball can be "unrespectful" compared to all the physical agression there is, enough to end someone career. And no career has ended because you have suffered a rabona or so. okey. Maradona! in the video he gets into a fight, and the next image is a rabona by the way...

So you like what Kerlon does with his "foquina"? You need to organize some type of Harlem Globetrotters football team and travel the world with them since you're so much into this whole jogo bonito thing.

Leicester 1 - 3 Sheff Wed 9' Iain Hume 1 45' 1 Bartosz Slusarski 53' 2 Steve Watson 89' 3 Leon Clarke phew....

Intheskywithdiamonds Sorry to hear about the score today. I think the title can still go to Man U as long as they don't slip up from now on as they are level on points. I think Chelsea are unbeatable but i'm really hoping that they slip up on the next game.
-
i hate all three but man yooouuu winning is better than chelskie and the gooners....

Ain't Barça that?

what a game between Chelsea and Manchester . Drogba and Ballack almost hit each other to kick the free kick. After kicking Drogba went to the coach to say "It's me who kick the free kicks in this me, just me!"... Well, I don't know the words but just watching his gestures... Maybe both teams are gonna pay for the match in the Champions League. : In Italy Inter can be champion today. And In Spain Real Madrid too. Barça continues not scoring goals (2 goals (against Recreativo) in 5 matches (Getafe, Recreativo, Español, Machester and Deportivo). Or three games without scoring too. If Villareal doesn't win today and Real Madrid does, the show at Cibeles Square will begin. 70000 people have already made an appointment by the Internet to go the Square. And Raul is preparing for this again.

"Ain't"? Anyway, I've never suggested they were, and you continuosly keep ripping them apart about their style of play so I don't know what you're on about there.
