ooookey, but the ones that are playing Fantasy Football could give clues about their teams if they predict the results...

Which team/teams will you be cheering on? Germany, Poland and Austria. Unfortunately, those three are all in one group, so one of them will have to go after the first round in any case... : What would be your Dream Final? Anything with Germany in it! Which team/teams do you hope fail miserably? Well, Croatia and either Poland or Austria... Do you have a dark horse team that one shouldn't write off? (Team that could shock) Turkey Which player(s) do you think will shine the brightest in Austria/Switzerland? I'm hoping for Ballack, Klose, Podolski and maybe Lehmann (whose past season with Arsenal wasn't really good!) Are there any countries that failed to qualify that you wish had? Any of the teams on the British Isles (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland) Which EURO tournament was the first you remember watching? (What year?) 1976 Your all-time EURO memory. Uli Hoeness' missed penalty against Czechoslovakia in 1976 and Oliver Bierhoff's Golden Goal against the Czech Republic in 1996.
Don't worry about that!

Hey, the web you link is not related to the TV show, I'm gonna search in youtube...
I've found this, it seems in this show they're doing that, I didn't know.... the ones on the video are real politicians of the congress. surreal humour... In Spain is about extremes, we use to think we're gonna be champions or we have no chance or be in the semifinals... -

PELE: (not the Inter midfielder, but the one of +1200 goals) "In Santos (his team in Brazil), first we scored and then we started to do the... "diabluras" complicated things with the ball..." I think that sums it all. The first goal usually is ugly, if you remind your fav goals... no-one of them is a "first goal"... that comes when the others can't stay defending and have to look for the ball... Ok, Guardiola signed for Barça's coach. And Paolo Maldini signs for another season in Milan, the year 24 in the team!. One of the best football players ever in the FIFA system. My guesses for the first round... matches here: http://en.euro2008.uefa.com/tournament/matches/index.html Saturday 7 June 2008 1 Grp A Switzerland 18:00 Czech Republic 0-1 2 Grp A Portugal 20:45 Turkey 3-0 Sunday 8 June 2008 3 Grp B Austria 18:00 Croatia 0-1 4 Grp B Germany 20:45 Poland 2-0 Monday 9 June 2008 5 Grp C Romania 18:00 France 0-1 6 Grp C Netherlands 20:45 Italy 2-3 (that's the most difficult one...) Tuesday 10 June 2008 7 Grp D Spain 18:00 Russia 1-0 (i don't know how they're gonna score though...) 8 Grp D Greece 20:45 Sweden 0-1

No that's a web for learning languagues or so... I think you're googling "Intermedio" or so... the web of the show is this one, though I never watch it... http://elintermedio.lasexta.com/ there's a lot of videos... it seems the show did a poll asking what country should the show support, Spain or Portugal?... Portugal was choosen for the 77%. It's funnier... http://elintermedio.lasexta.com/seccion/en-el-programa-de-hoy/todas/portuga/80271 http://elintermedio.lasexta.com/noticia/eres/portuga/80761 BTW, Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal's star, has said Finally he wants to go to Real Madrid... now all that's left to do is Real Madrid paying the transfer and it's done. But there's a little problem... Cristiano has a fashion trademark called CR7, Cristiano Ronaldo #7, "his number" and Raul's number... What now my love?

I'm moving away of the Switzerland vs Czech Rep game... I've had enough with 5 minutes... I guess this night will be better with Portugal and Turkey that doesn't play so defensive. Baros is not playing , so my substitute comes to play (I choose Fernandes cause I saw he was going to play and cause I would remind the name, it's similar to a Spanish very usual last name... I don't have a clue of who he is...). But I can't use a wild card to change Baros or Fernandes, no matter what they do in this game... My team is Casillas; Sagnol, Metzelder, Carvalho, Lahm; Cristiano Ronaldo (captain), Xavi Hernandez (the Barça one), Wilhemsson; Baros, Luca Toni and Klasnic with Fernandes as subsitute.. you (unclesox) don't have any player that's on my team... and only Carvalho and Cristiano are in Daniel's team and mine... it's funny that the teams are different.

I think you expect way too much because you're very much in the minority. To give up watching after only five minutes is ludicrous. Most everyone I've been chatting with during the game have thoroughly enjoyed the attacking play of both sides, especially the Swiss. But if Frei's tournament is over, so too may be the Swiss. Sad site watching him cry as he hobbled off at halftime.
-
You could see instantly, it wasn't fake! How sad! The incident didn't even look that bad! I just hope his knee is alright! That wouldn't be a good start for the tournament!

Well, for me, being in front a TV for 180 minutes in a day is not very usual... so once I saw they were not playing the ball too much I though that it was better to see the night's game. For me, somehow a Portugal's show... I expected Turkey too be less defensive (that's why I said 3-0)... "Pepenbauer" scored and then it was over. That's has been one of the games I really want some team to lose. Turkey was all agressions and no football....

There are some technical skills that maybe we will see on this tourney or maybe even not, I'm interested if someone does some of this: -The roulette (typical of Zidane), you know 270 degrees getting over the ball. -The tunnel (Maradona, Romario), passing the ball between the legs of the defender -The bycicle kick (Pele, Ronaldinho) -The heel pass, Cristiano Ronaldo has done one today. -The heel goal (Di Stefano...) -The rabona (dribling, shooting or pass) I think Cristiano has done one rabona dribbling -The "cola de vaca/elastica" (Ronaldinho, Romario) -The parabole pass (Laudrup) -The parabole goal (Romario, Maradona...) -The 180 degrees roulette (Oliver :wink etc. It hurts to see some shoots or passes, or when some player receives the ball and the ball just go away from him... or like tonight when some player didn't even hit the ball while trying to shoot... If you do that in a football field on the street, everybody's gonna start to laugh... some even gonna make a fun of you, and when the players on TV do it... it seems normal... And when a TV player does some of skills above... it's like "OOOHHH!"... the audience, the speaker... when someone does it on the street... it's just normal. I don't mean they have to do all those things to play well, at all... but some can't even hold, pass or shoot the ball, in a simple way, it's quite embarassing.
-
Alves definitely signed by Barça, he does everything well but shooting, 29 milions. The figure of the transfer of Cristiano is said to be already agreed between Man Utd and Real Madrid in 75 milion.
-
Am I posting too much or are people losing interest in the Euro Cup? Germany winning the Germany way... 6 goals in 4 matches. 1.25 per match. And I though my predictions were kind of pessimistic in goals... and I've made an excess of 2 goals. But I think there's something that especially cause this. The system of solving ties in points. Then it's not the same losing 1-0 than 3-0... that favours teams "accept" losing 1-0, thinking the others are gonna lose 2-0 against the toughest team. It's not just being happy with 0-0 but with losing 1-0 too. It is too many fear or is it just playing with the result?

I was watching the Germany vs Poland game, it was ok....

Well I might not follow football closely enough to be able to engage the Fantasy Football side of it, but the Euro 08 tournament is a welcome addition to the couch potato lifestyle Now that summer is here the sport is coming thick and fast. With work out of the way I was able to settle down to: Watching England round out the Third Test against New Zealand with a premature win. See the Moto GP motorcycle race. The Nadal win over Federer in the French Open tennis. Keep track of the Austria vs Croatia match in the runup to and during the TV ad breaks of the Canadian GP which had a charmingly unusual outcome. Before rounding off the day with what I considered the first decent "heavyweight" clash of the Euro 08 tournament Germany vs Poland. Listening to the commentary it's startling how seriously Germany is taking this competition with apparently a £20 million budget for team preperation. As the pudits said they are not prepared to settle for anything less that an absolute tournament win - no congratulatory pat on the back and "didn't we do well" for a quarter, semi or even final appearance - it's the trophy or broke for them. Good day Martin
