21st Century Paul:
I don't know, it's quite usual here at rock and roll concerts, like the last Paul one.
But not in football matches. My reponse was for your comment... No, what I mean... is that they say rock and roll is dead and such things and then you see this. In a rock and roll concert of some of the best musicians in Spain you'll have that... in a game of Real Madrid or Barça... it's very very difficult.
21st Century Paul:
Bruce has achieved what Barça couldn't in a long time. The people made the "wave" (like in Mexico world cup) a lots of time...
You were trying to imply that Barça supporters never did the wave because the team wasn't exciting enough. Nice try. The fact is the wave is no longer done at football matches/sporting events. Too cheesy. Well, Spanish fans at the last Euro Cup did it sometimes.
21st Century Paul:
BTW... Ronaldinho (that player...) to Milan for 25 milions. Just a little comment.
Ah, back on thread topic. Thank goodness. : That other stuff should go in the Band On The Run forum. I know but nothing happens in planet football... and it was the Camp Nou, so it's related. Stevie, the guitar player of Bruce: "You've got to play in Barcelona the last gig of the tour, cause you've got to give it your all, so it has to be the last city. I've never seen an audience as wild as Barcelona's one." Good bye, good riddance, and to Milan, good luck. He was no longer motivated, missed too many training sessions and spent too many late nights out. The world saw the best of him between 2004-2006 while he was a Barca player. Once the World Cup came round, it was downhill from there. Left many great memories, but no player is bigger than the club and it was time for both to move on. Btw, Pep has a set guideline of new rules, one of them being everyone must be home by midnight. A bit too much for my liking. He needs to trust the players. The dedicated ones will police themselves. Dani Alves may be the only problem.
Home by midnight... is time for this emoticon In Spain? is Pep mad? I guess he means the night before a match but not all the season. That's impossible.

In that case, almost every concert can go in this or other sport threads since they're mostly played in sporting stadiums/arenas. : Uh, no. There's a seperate forum specifically for other music artists. It was created for subjects like Springsteen or any other musician playing in Camp Nou or any other venue. Ronaldinho will wear the #80 shirt for Milan since Clarence Seedorf is not willing to part with the #10 shirt. Ronaldinho chose #80 to signify the year of his birth (1980).

well the Camp Nou is not a usual scenario for concerts at all. I can only remember u2 is this century... and I didn't go to that one... so why not talking? I entered the Camp Nou and all my life people told me it was so so big you just have to get impressed... but that didn't happen to me. Well... back to topic... what about Cristiano Ronaldo and the number seven?... Raul and CR7, etc.?

6 quite important players are on the market or about to sign with some team: -Cristiano Ronaldo -Robinho -Kaka -Etoo -Drogba and I don't remember the other one... it seems this is gonna be most surprising summer ever...

Oleguer Transferred to Ajax. Thank goodness he's finally gone. Are you thinking of Arshavin, the Russian player? Milan say Kaka is not for sale. C.Ronaldo will likely stay. The other three are up in the air.

Oleguer. good joke. ... yes maybe it's Arshavin I can't remember... Kaka doesn't want to play with Ronaldinho. And Chelsea wants Kaka or Robinho. Cristiano.... Cristiano... all the big signings of the Real Madrid are the same...

Villa was the 6th player!. Rumoured for years for Real Madrid, but never signed. I'm seeing at UEFA's web the Champions League group stages start at September 16th, deadline to make the teams in fantasy football I guess? Similar rules? Only 2 players of the same team... etc? I think the value of the players changes as the tournament goes on...

Yes, only two players allowed from each team. (Raul and Casillas?) And yes, the player values fluctuate depending on their performances. But the game isn't up yet since all the teams are not known. The 2nd legs of the 2nd qualifying round are this week, then the 3rd qualifying round takes place in August. Also, if they do the same as last season, you select a total of 15 players: 2 goalkeepers, 5 defenders, 5 midfielders and 3 forwards. Then each Matchday you choose a starting XI. One goalkeeper and any formation you want with the rest of your squad. In the EURO game you only had one substitute (12 players total).

It sounds great. And the signing market is not over... Well, yes Casillas and Raul (if he plays as a striker)... but Real Madrid, I guess is gonna sign someone!. This one or that one, but a season with no signing at all would be very strange.

17 days till the Premiership kicks off again
-
Giovani Dos Santos will flourish in the league of no defending. And then everyone will wonder why Barcelona gave up on him, not realizing La Liga is much more tactical with organized defending than "the most popular league in the world". "Most popular", but not "the best". How's that extra 39th week playing abroad doing, btw? : 16 days until the Bundesliga kicks off. 30 days until La Liga.

I agree totally with you unclesox, the Premier should be good for Giovani, that's a runner-dribler only. Well, I've read an interview with Calderon, Real Madrid's president and he says they're not gonna sign Villa cause they don't want a 9, an striker, cause they already have four (Anyway I don't agree, I'm been wishing Real signs Villa for years and it seems that will remain the same). They go for Van der Vaart, and for Cristiano Ronaldo, and Robinho is gonna stay.
-
as.com is reporting that C.Ronaldo will tell Man Utd next week that he wants to play for Real Madrid and that the issue is "not negotiable". If that's true, then the guy's head has become way too big, even if his long neck can support it.

It has happened before with a lot players... It seems like Van der Vaart is gonna be signed today. Good player, but where will he play? Offensive midfielder? what about Sneijder and Guti? In a wing? and Robben, Robinho and possibly Cristiano? I though he was only good with the ball but in the match against Italy he defended very well. Defensive midfielder?
-
One thing I read this week in a kind of science magazine... "Long legs in proportion to height (low gravity center) mark feet dexterity" let's see... Messi Ivan Campo Michael Laudrup Oleguer Pele Casillas is there any difference between the ones skilled with the ball and the ones that are not?
-
Conclusion, it has no sense at all.
-
Schuster is not the kind of man that shuts up if he think he's got something to say. "I'm the last to know about everything" , bout Van der Vaart and Calderon not wanting to sign any striker. Schuster says he wants a 9 "(a striker) and midfielders, no defenders". I don't like it, when the president doesn't listen to the coach, it's gonna be trouble, and if the results are bad, of course... off with the coach!. No Villa or any forward and still waiting for Cristiano. I bet anyway his head is smaller than mine. Real Madrid whole team look like this: ------------------Raul-------------Van Nistelrooy-------------- --------------Higuain------------Saviola-------------------- Robinho-------------Sneijder-----------Robben---Cristiano? Baptista,Drenthe-----Guti-------------------Van der Vaart--- -----------------------Diarra---------------------------------------- -------------------Gago, De la Red----------------------------- Marcelo------Cannavaro----Pepe-----S. Ramos--------- Heinze------Metzelder--Torres------Salgado----------- --------------------------Casillas---------------------------------- --------------------------Dudek----------------------------------
-
Ferguson last words seems to show he thinks Cristiano is not gonna stay there. "It's not easy to keep a foreign player in a team..." etc. But the most funny words I've read today come from Raul. Press conference. Interviewer "Would you like to play with Villa?" RG7 "Has Villa signed?" Wait a minute, didn't they say Villa is out of Real's interest? is that really true or is Raul very confused? Some great matches are starting to happen, right now Real Madrid vs Hamburg, and tomorrow vs Arsenal And Barça is there in the States, may be you could go and see them, unclesox?
