I'm not gonna complain of the referees, but I just think this year they're gonna "help" Barça when they need it, so the league is already won.
They came away frrom the four big matches with 12 points. 3-0 away to Sevilla 4-0 home against Valencia 2-0 home against Real Madrid 2-1 away to Villarreal Earlier, Atlético was dispatched 6-1. Combine all that with the scorelines from some of the mid-lower opponents like 6-1 (Sporting), 5-0 (Almería), 4-1 (Málaga) and 6-0 (Valladolid)... They currently have an 11 point lead on second place Sevilla... Their goal count is 51 goals scored and 11 conceded... And yet you say Barcelona will win the league because of the referees helping them.
:
:
: Sounds like you still haven't recovered from the New Year's celebrations. The Champions League is in the knockout stages now, and anything can and often does happen. The best team doesn't always win it. Too much luck required. Same with the Copa del Rey. No big deal if both are lost.
I don't say they win because of the referee, just that the referees do a "little help" when is needed. Real Madrid is playing very ugly but winning, 15 points away of Barça thought with a number points that would have made them leaders in any league but this one. But today's Real Madrid's game has been really ugly.

Goal #307 of Raul in Real Madrid again, the usual Raul goal, all about sharpness... but the news are that he has equaled Di Stefano (not just any player) as the top scorer ever in Real Madrid (not just any team) soon to beat the record, Raul's already the top scorer ever of the Champions League/European's Cup, the top scorer ever of the Spain's national team, and the only record that seems hard to beat is the "top scorer ever of the spanish league", that's Zarra with 251 goals, and Raul has done 214, you'll never know... thought today (and lately most of the times) he has played as All-fielder, stealing balls as defender, passing the ball as midfielder and scoring the goal as striker, just as Di Stefano played, good tribute
ps in Casillas and Raul we trust (yet)

Just like Real Madrid against Mallorca a few weeks ago. The referee denied Mallorca two very clear penalties and Real went on to win. The referee was then suspended for a month because of the "little help" he gave to Madrid.

On Sunday Messi scored Barcelona's 5000th goal in La Liga.
SCORING LEAGUE GOALS THIS SEASON (as of this posting) For Barcelona... Eto'o = 19 goals Messi = 16 goals Henry = 12 goals TOTAL = 49 goals Clubs throughout Europe... Hoffenheim = 44 Real Madrid = 44 Atlético de Madrid = 44 Chelsea = 44 Valencia = 42 Girondins Bordeaux = 40 Manchester United = 40 Bayern Munich = 39 Milan = 39 Liverpool = 39 Inter = 37 Juventus = 36 Olympique Lyon = 29 The trident of Eto'o-Messi-Henry has scored more goals than clubs from the top leagues in Europe. And the teams from France, Italy and especially England have played more matches than Spanish clubs! (Those in Germany have played three fewer) In total Barcelona have scored 65 league goals this season.

yes, that's true, this time Real Madrid was "helped", but it happens usually with Barça, the Mallorca game was exception... and they suspended the referee! the ones "helping" Barça get great games....

...anyway... after lots of great Barça shows... guess who's coming back... against all odds
. The old Real Madrid leaded by the old Raul. 9 victories out of 9 games and Barça seems starting to melt... We´ll see... but now I would bet for Real Madrid for La Liga. But Champions League tomorrow. The Cup is still on Manchester:
What a great day tomorrow is... I have 3 players of Barça in my fantasy (I can't have more :wink
but I've been really thinking of changing the 3 of them for others seeing the last 2 games... But I haven't done it. For worse or for better I still trust in them for tomorrow against Lyon. Gerrard will travel to Madrid, I guess he will play but still is a mystery, and if he plays, probably not his 100%, still better than any other that could play instead... Atletico vs Oporto with a weak Atletico, Aguero is not what he used to be either. Inter vs Manchester... Ferguson, now: "Real Madrid has no chance of winning the Champions League". Well, but Real Madrid is the one that can win even having "no chance", that's why it's different
He should be thinking about Inter... Arsenal vs Roma Chelsea vs Juventus Sporting vs Bayern Villareal vs Panathinaikos Villareal not in the best moment or is it... Real and Barça are winning so many matches that the others seem weak... We'll see tomorrow...

The referee certainly didn't help Barcelona against Espanyol. The red card for Keita was ridiculous.

No, the referee didn't help Barça at all. For the first time ever, I'm going now to see a FIFA football match. Espanyol vs Real Madrid

hey... after the match... they say football is the greatest show in the world... no way! it's nothing compared to rock and roll concerts... still I liked to see it. Raul today played as a Xavi-kind of midfielder
, I don't know is that was seen on TV. He defended stealing balls with Lass Diarra (what a player, big surprise for me), and making passes with just one touch, or long long passes a la Beckham. And yet he still got time to make one of his goals, just like his last one past week. Sometimes it seems he can't run, but it's just he does what is needed exactly in every moment, when a pass is needed he passes, when defense is needed he defended. In minute 90, after being running all the match, he did a sprint and dribbled a defender, quite easily, because it was the right thing to do, not for the sake of doing. Though these things are hardly seen on TV if the camera is too close... I didn't watch Di Stefano but Raul seems the same to me, one who does everything. Real Madrid at 4.

Standings of the Macca Board Fantasy Football Champions League 1 Oliver Sanz's Team (21st Century Paul) 295. (47 this matchday). 2 FC Blaugrana (unclesox) 264. (75 this matchday) 3 Louisville United (Daniel) 262. (46 this matchday) Unclesox scored 75 points! I think that's a record of the Macca Board... especially because 34 of Ribery!.

21st Century Paul:
Real Madrid at 4.
Now at 6, and should've been 7. Atletico wasted too many open chances, and (surprise) Huntelaar was offside on Real's goal. Typical. And now, Liverpool is wiping the floor with Los Blancos.
-
Yes... I hear Juande complaining of the referee, of the 1st and 2nd goal but as almost usually Raul is correct and it's apologizing for the performance of the team. It's the only way that can be done, apologizing... The only thing I've enjoyed is the loudspeakers of Anfield playing You'll never walk alone and Hey Jude at the end. It was surreal to see the Spanish commentator's faces with the Hey Jude sound of Anfield.
-
At least it's not like Sporting Lisboa in Munchen, I don't mean the 7 goals... but the way of the goals are scored, so silly the first second and third, and some other...

Oh, life is great...
A fading Real (what has happened to that team?) thumped 4-0 and sent home crying and now squashing the apparently invincible Mancs 1-4 at the Theatre of Screams and upsetting their fairweather, glory hunting, so-called fans (deserting your team in their hour of need to get to the car park first....shame on you!)......it has been a great week! If Scumchester Untied win the Premier Title it's down to the others inability to win matches against lower teams rather than Manchester being brilliant. They are over rated and all hype...Merchandise United......they have an extremely soft underbelly and we exposed it, now I call on all football teams to keep the momentum going and attack them, harass them and force 'em onto the back foot, get in their faces, they don't like it up 'em sir, they do not like it up 'em....

Going after all those trophies, United are bound to suffer the effects of fixture congestion. Since Vidic was a direct sending off is he suspended for three matches? And are they all Premier League suspensions or is the FA Cup semifinal on the list? As a Barcelona fan I welcome any team in the Champions League quarterfinals. My only wish/hope is that the second leg is played at Camp Nou because since the 2005 knockout stages Barça have gone out of the competition when playing the second leg away yet they've always advanced when hosting the return leg.

Is there time still to complain about the referee?
You know, the first Liverpool goal against Real Madrid was a big fault of Torres to Pepe, (he threw him to the floor) and the second one was a penalty signed for a ball hitting Heinze's shoulder (not arm). I think that anyway they would lose the match, but well... Calderon said "one of the greatest football players in the world is signed for next year", I guess he means Cristiano Ronaldo, the never-ending story. Cristiano learned to play for the team, unlike Robben that doesn't seem to fit in Real Madrid with his "me, all alone" kind of playing...

I think we may have a title race on our hands here.
Liverpool must get the job done tomorrow. As I post this, Chelsea are failing to take advantage with 15 minutes to play.

....
I told you, didn't I tell you, get in their faces, get up and at 'em and they can't handle it. They're without 3 players now because of red cards and they are starting to buckle. Hopefully Porto can harass them and put them out of the CL. They still have to face Villa and Arsenal so plenty of points to lose in the Premier League. Add this strain on the pitch to their financial woes off it (the £900 million they owe makes Valencia look loaded) and this lot might not only miss out on the Premier title when the UK goes tits up (which is supposed to happen sometime in the next 12 months) but Merchandise United could end up bust and being relegated to Division 2.....
.....Now that would be what I call funny!.....
Slurgie Fergie, slurping down anotther bottle of booze, has been desperate to catch our record for 20 years and now he's on the verge of equalling it, so wouldn't it be a shame if right at the last minute we sneak up and take it off him and his overrated football team?....
The old goat would have a coronary. Now can the Pool step up the plate and wipe that smug arrogant grin off the faces of Slurgie and those reptiles in red? Will Benitez play it safe a throw away 3 points....AGAIN? Villa are a good side and could cause problems. We need to win all of our remaining games. Torres had a dream that he would score the winner in the Champions League Final against Scumchester in Rome. Now that would be very, very sweet. He also joined the Pool mainly coz he loves The Beatles apparently, according to an interview he did. Don't you just love Nando...

yes, still in Raul we trust... he says is possible and they'll try to the end.
