it's not easy to get me started with a referee but well... it's not easy either to get to it to Iker Casillas, Valdano, Xabi Alonso, Karanka, and everyone unbiased. Barça feat. referee 1 - Real Madrid 1
-
Carvalho, Adebayor and Lass all should have had a red card. But I guess the referee helps Barca. : Real Madrid drinks too much Mourinho Kool-Aid. If they don't win, they always blame the referee. They're not man enough to take resposibility for their own failings and accept that they were beaten by the better team.

it's not Real Madrid but the world. Everyone has seen it. Virtually all the attacks of Real were stopped by not given faults. I think there was not even one fault given to Real near Barça's area. And the most surreal one was to transform Pique's fault to Cristiano into a Cristiano's fault to Mascherano. I guess the referee didn't think of any possible fault to give in Marcelo's goal. He couldn't give offside, he couldn't give handball, he couldn't give attacking fault, so a goal. It seems the team who wants to score against Barça needs wings to fly over their defence... cause it's the only way to score. The not given goal to Higuain deserves some kind of weird award about referee manipulation. This is the most scandalous thing since the basketball final of Pekin 2008, lol. Mou and Cristiano doing gestures about being robbed. http://www.as.com/futbol/video/gestos-cristiano-mourinho-aeropuerto-barcelona/20110504dasdasftb_1/Ves

Guardiola said:"Ok, I give Mourinho the Champions League of press conferences, he can have it" Ok, Barça can have this Champions League... all yours... I wouldn't want to win like that.
-
So you thought Carvalho should not have had a second yellow card? And Adebayor, who should have have a red card in both games? Like you say, it's not just Barcelona saying it, the whole world feels Carvalho and Adebayor should have been expelled.

From France (L'Equipe): "Victory for the game" From Italy (Gazzetta dello Sport): "Goodbye Mou, Barça in final" And the German press couldn't believe Real finished with 11 men. http://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/20110504/prensa-alemana-lamenta-caceria-messi-sorprende-que-madrid-acabara-con-once/993914.shtml

well, yes to the cards, some cards were not shown to Barça players cause the faults were not even given... not just Pique's to Cristiano but lots. Even today Schalke has received the same treatment.... well it's UEFA, FIFA football, it's the same old story, what can we expect? I like the show, creative part of football, but as for the "competition" I don't care, it's a joke. Kind of like Wrestlemania and all that... I don't think I'll watch the final game. I'm not interested in seeing who gets favoured the most... Well, like in American Idol and similars... it's his show and they're free to do it the way they want it. But don't ask me to believe in it... as for the show and creative part as I can see it playing a game with some people here... I can't remember the last match I watched for the full 90 minutes.

Redknapp: "It was more like seeing WWE, with fake agressions and theathre, than watching football" Ferdinand:"If you ever see me leaving the field in a stretcher and instantly coming back running, kick me with the studs"

Did Real Madrid send this video to UEFA too?
"¿Por qué?" What the Barcelona haters refuse to acknowledge. -
You will not see football being played any better than that. 1992 - Wembley - 2011

So, another Doblete for Barcelona. I think it's fair to suggest that the truly great squads are those that are able to focus and win more than one competition in a single campaign, specifically the 'big two' of domestic league and European Cup. For all their 31 Ligas and 9 European Cups, the great club called Real Madrid has only won both trophies in the same season on only TWO occasions, and that was back during the days of black-and-white television. Hell, at the time Lennon-McCartney had just barely met each other! AC Milan, with their 7 European Cups, has only accomplished it ONCE. FC Barcelona now stands alone at the top of this category. Winning the Double of domestic league and European Cup in the same season 4 - FC Barcelona (1991/92, 2005/06, 2008/09, 2010/11) 3 - AFC Ajax (1970/71, 1971/72, 1994/95) 2 - Real Madrid (1956/57, 1957/5 2 - Liverpool FC (1976/77, 1983/84) 2 - FC Bayern München (1973/74, 2000/01) 2 - Manchester United (1998/99, 2007/0 2 - FC Internazionale (1964/65, 2009/10) 1 - SL Benfica (1960/61) 1 - Celtic FC (1966/67) 1 - Hamburger SV (1982/83) 1 - FC Steaua Bucureşti (1985/86) 1 - PSV Eindhoven (1987/8 1 - FK Crvena Zvezda (1990/91) 1 - AC Milan (1993/94) 1 - FC Porto (2003/04)

Swansea beat Reading in the UK championship play-off final securing promotion to the top-flight Premiere league for the first time in thirty years. So for all the other clubs in that league a few essential FAQs: Swansea is in Wales the bit of land between England and Ireland. You'll find the M4 continues well past Bristol They may speak another language - just think of it as a secret club code. You do not need a passport or visa to visit although if you cross the Severn Bridge you will have to pay a toll to enter that way - although very generously you will not have to pay to leave Wales - it'd be mean to add insult to injury after thrashing your team. The main dishes are leeks and daffodils, I think .... Don't argue with the women. You'll lose. Martin

I wish there was a fantasy football game for Copa America. Youtube has a channel that will be showing the games live (for those outside the U.S.). http://www.youtube.com/user/copaamerica I always root for Uruguay in the Copa although this time I wouldn't be too bothered if Argentina wins it only because of Messi. And with the final being played at El Monumental, that venue is in desperate need for some happy times given the status of the club side that calls that stadium home.

What an incredibly beautiful and awesome world cup game that just was! Both teams played their hearts out!

Fantasy Football for the UEFA Champions League is now up and running at uefa.com Myself, Daniel and Oliver (21st Century Paul) have been the mainstays for about 3 years now. We should be automatically entered into the league once we accept the website's Terms of Service. Any/all newcomers are more than welcome to join. Link to game: http://en.uclfantasy.uefa.com/ After filling out details and selecting your team, click on "leagues"... then on the right side of the page click "Create and join new leagues"... then in the box "Join a Private League" enter this code: 19199-3987. Name of league is "Macca Board UEFA CL" My team is FC Blaugrana. I'll also set up a fantasy league for the Europa League in the next couple of days if anyone is interested. Daniel and I are the only ones who usually play.

Well, I'm on the league this year too. I'm less into football than I was. I only know what's going on in Real Madrid and Barça, if ever. That sounds like an excuse in case if I lose. Well, I know less but that doesn't mean I try anyway to choose the best team possible. btw it seems there's something wrong because the fantasy site is giving all the defender 4 points for not receiving goals

standings (maybe there is no need to post them here?) 1 www.oliversanz.com (yours truly) 45 2 FC Blaugrana (unclesox) 31 3 United Rovers (daniel) 30
