Well, there's something to say... Raul, the big captain, the soul of Real Madrid has signed for Schalke 04. He says that he would have played a lot with Mourinho, so I don't have a clue why he has gone... He said goodbye to the supporters surrounded by all his trophies... 3 Champions Leagues, 6 Spanish Leagues, etc etc.. and of course he cried. Now he's playing for Schalke 04 and already won another trophy today, the German Supercup. Schalke 3-Bayern Munchen 1 2 goals by Raul... the first, the classic Raul goal, "offensive rebound" between 3 defenders... and the 2nd another classic Raul goal, that kind of lob shot he does... it seemed Schalke supporters didn't know this one cause they look as if they were surprised.
and the legend goes on... -

That wasn't the German Super Cup. It was a pre-season tournament called the Liga Total! Cup that also featured Hamburg and Cologne. Schalke hosted the tournament (they play in the city of Gelsenkirchen) and Bayern Munich were missing many of their players that played in the World Cup (Klose, Schweinsteiger, Müller, Ribery, Lahm, etc) The DFB Super Cup (equivalent to Spain's Supercopa or England's Community Shield) is to be played on August 7th in Augsburg. Schalke will play Bayern and both teams will take that match a bit more seriously than the Liga Total! Cup. I'm in a Bundesliga fantasy football league where we bid on players (each player can only belong to one person!) and I'm actually considering trying to get Raul on my team. Schalke let their main striker Kevin Kuranyi go to Russia so Raul may get quite a bit of playing time. Real Madrid let Raul and Guti leave because they both are past their prime. They are no longer 'Galactico quality' enough. It's all about C.Ronaldo, Kaka and Higuain these days.

Well I though "Total Cup" was the name of the Super Cup there cause it will be played between Schalke and Bayern Munchen... Raul in your team... well... if he plays as striker he will be the main scorer of the Bundesliga, but maybe he will play as ofensive midfielder. But if they had let go Kuranyi maybe they plan place Raul as striker. For me Guti never has been a Galactico quality... and for me Raul still is. Still he does things that no-one else does...

WOO HOO! It's back! Fantasy Football - UEFA Champions League I renewed the league from last season so Oliver and Daniel should automatically be entered once they register for the new season. If anyone else wishes to play you're more than welcome to join. Just click here and register, then after you select your team click on the "join league" option and enter this code to join the Macca League: 10771-3017. Would be nice to have more than the usual three of us playing. Tournament kicks off next Tuesday at 20:45 Central European time (2:45pm U.S. eastern) so you'll need to select your team before then to get points from Matchday 1.

ok, first matchday of the group stage (the hard part for me, I do better in the KO rounds) 1 Daniel 77 77 2 Oliver Sanz 65 65 3 Unclesox 54 54 Barça show, Real Madrid shooted 28 times! Ozil is playing fantastic but I don't like the double defensive midfielder thing. Barça played with my fav system (Diamond). Controversy in the stadium about Cristiano constant shooting (more than 10). I don't know how I've done it, but the sum of all my defenders and goalkeeper points is a whooping ZERO.

I've played my wildcard in Fantasy. Too many injuries and many things I wanted to change. BTW, what happens if the matches are not played? The September 29th strike could cause many matches to postpone.

Today's a great day for football De Jong dropped out of Netherlands squad because another... violent tackle http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/9058532.stm

Standings of The Macca Board Fantasy Champions League 1 Daniel 61 191 2 Unclesox 63 167 3 Oliver 33 166 not my best day Raul, "The one who always does nothing" scored twice and tied with Gerd Muller as top scorer ever of the European club competitions. Real Madrid is starting to playing great. Playing the ball to the defenders then to the midfielders and then to the forwards causing a lot of scoring chances. Cristiano has quit his solo plays and it's now when he's really playing fantastic. Barça seems to be going down. Xavi plays with an injury and I think Messi too. Messi couldn't sprint in the game against Copenhague (anyway he scored 2 goals in a kind of Raul way).

Raul, "The one who always does nothing"...
... for Spain except miss crucial penalty kicks.

well, for many he's supposed to have always done "nothing". What about the 44 goals he scored for Spain?... I know, they're part of the "nothing".

38 of those 44 goals were scored in either friendlies or qualifiers against the likes of Norway, Ukraine, Austria, Cyprus and San Marino. In 18 matches in the World Cup and EUROs he only scored 6, and never scored in the knockout rounds. The last minute penalty miss against France was his best chance as it happened in the quarterfinals.
