I haven't been able to log in to the fantasy game on uefa.com yesterday or now. I wanted to make a couple of moves before today's games.

The England team visited an orphanage in Poland today. "It's heartbreaking to see their sad little faces with no hope" said Igor, aged 6.
So, Germany wins the first match.
Not a good game, but anyway, victory is victory.
Netherlands lost agains Denmark, brilliant.
Spain and Italy only a draw, I like that too. Greece was cheated by the referee, it was never a dismissal for Sokratis Papastathopoulos. Now I hope Ireland wins against Croatia.

I think you will be leading after the first round anyway, great choices. One day before the start of the tournament I couldn't log in either. Sometimes the log in thing just doesn't work... I'm gonna use my wildcard early, as usual.

Croatia 3 - Ireland 1 I didn't see it... guess Croatia is much better on the ball, normal result. Spain 1 - Italy 1... not bad. Itally was great, not catenaccio at all. The field grass was not okey so not much passing game. I think Spain got a lot of troubles in defense. Pique and Ramos or whatever it is. Iniesta is at his best this tournament. Best match of the tournamente so far, I think.

If herc plays as a central defender for Werder Bremen, then maybe yes.

gotta laugh at the english media. we have to sit through their teams tedious defensive tactics and they now try and tells us they where the better team
france aint great but they where the only team trying to win the match.im sure the stats will back that up...i think england had 2 attempts in the whole game. dont get me wrong taken in isolation and taken as a digging in type game england will be happy with the draw...but please lets not pretend that the english team did anything more than sit back ,stay in shape and hope for a draw. in my view ,france are not great and they made england look inferior..im not sure about 'sweden' but im pretty sure 'ukraine' will beat england.

England were effing dire. I'm all for England doing well but France deserved to win that cos we were shocking. Although it didn't help that the ref was blatantly French too...

For me, Arbeloa is the one who hurt in defence the most. He simply cannot go forward in support then track back. When Navas came in Arbeloa was able to concentrate on defence and performed better, but Spain needs attacking wing backs. Del Bosque should move Ramos to right back and have Javi Martinez partner Pique in the center. I agree that Iniesta was the best player. And Casillas had to rescue yet again. David Silva played well overall but in the first half he squandered a few chances. Once Navas came on it seemed natural that Llorente would have followed. Instead we were reminded why Torres should be nowhere near this tournament. At this point I'd take the overrated Negredo ahead of Torres... hell, I'll take Raul over Torres!

No doubt Roman Abramovich is keeping on eye on that unknown Ukrainian striker who scored twice against Sweden.

England played the old Italy way. But they didn't even created counterattacks, too poor I think. The field was not Ok. The ball runned too slow, it seems we're gonna see that in all the tournament. It causes slow playing.

I agree with you 100 % about Arbeloa and the defense, that's it. The advantage of playing with Casillas is that he uses to do that. I didn't get either why Torres + Navas :-/. I would understand Llorente + Navas (headings + crossings), thought I don't like it. I guess the only explanation is they are the 2 fasters attacking players... looking for counterattacks or so... There was a really shocking moment when Spain lost the ball easily, there was no forward losing the marks and running so Italy just moved forward and forward... You need at least one fast player in order the other team do that (I remember when Robben played in Madrid, when he was injured there was no fast player and Real Madrid played most of their time in their own half field...). Raul? lol... when he wouldn't have sort out the need for a fast player... To be honest I don't know much how Torres has played this year. Pedro could play as striker too, I would take him before Negredo or Llorente. Spain's not gonna win the tournament playing this way.

Typical from them. They were shocking to say the least and the French (although not great themselves) Were trying to pass the ball about and look for an opening to win the game. England could easily get sent home before the knockout stages, especially no there blind arrogance and ignorance towards every other country.

Standings after Round 1 of the Macca Board Fantasy Football for UEFA EURO 2012 1 unclesox 58 2 Oliver Sanz 35 3 Daniel 29 I couldn't log yesterday either. I've just used the wildcard today. Great start for unclesox, already in the top 1%.

Teams like France, Germany & Spain will do just enough to qualify from the group stages, sadly (if you're a England fan) what we seen the other night is the best England can offer, the competition starts at the quarter finals stages, will England be there, not on Monday's showing they won't.

If they can get Parker through all the matches, allow Gerrard to push forward more and unleash the Ox with Walcott and Rooney causing mischief they might actually surprise some people!!

they wont 'surprise' anyone my friend. they are the 3/4th ranked and fancied team at the whole tournament...there are 16 teams qualified at these finals.the english players will be amongs the highest earning players taking part.they are not plucky little underdogs as the media are trying to portray them this time [although they still can resist the usual sureal fancyfull boasts like 'best defence in the world'. 'england' is possibly the biggest footballing nation on earth and not just because of their competative and extensive league set up. their abject failure since the mid 1960s is nothing short of a dissgrace...the english people have been crying out for a half decent team since the days when paul mccartney was dateing jane asher. but hey its only a game.the one thing that does really bother me about england though is their misrable style of play....they are the ANTI football of anti football..if every team played like the english national team the sport would soon cease to become watchable.

...this is the only way Roy knows how to play...why do you think the fans of LFC got rid of him so quick!
There have been enough chances with real skill players to win something since 1966....it is a national disgrace we've done bugger all!

completely agree mate. when i think of the endless list of quality players england have had down the years their record is nothing short of disgraceful . added to that, people quickly forget how england did not have a 'technique' problem in the 60s and 70s...this is a modernish thing...at some point english coaches decided to play long ball ,kick and rush tralentless football....a real shame for such a historic and important footballing country. england could change their playing style overnight despite what we are told.okay they might not be very good and passing/possesion football straight away but surely to god it would soon become better with practise.. its very sad that the english media accept this and simply blame individuals for missing pens/or getting sent off instead. but hey,im scottish,i would sooner the english remain in the dark ages...its better for me seeing as my own country are actually even worse offenders than the english at the charges i have put forward...although the difference is that even if scotland had a great footballing style and good players in managment we are such a small country it would hardly make a difference on the big footballing world scale. 'england' however have the platform to rule the footballing world and continue to make a complete arse of it!
