Downton Abbey tonight on WLIW at 8PM Season 3 Episode 2...
-
I didn't get to see "Downton" last Sunday because of the Golden Globes. If anybody wants to tell what happened on the latest "Downton Abbey" it will be greatly appreciated and God will bless ya, thanks OOOOH big disappointment, I read the guy who plays Mary's hubby, Matthew stated he wants to leave the show by the end of this season He's one of the actors on there who provides eye candy for female fans. That sounds silly ops: but I guess you know what I mean "Oh, bother! Drat !"

Hi Suzy Here is link to 2 episode season 3 http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/watch-online/full-episodes/downton-abbey-season-3-episode-2/ I loved it also heard about Dan Stevens wanting to leave and how they get rid of him spoiler alert I agree definite eye candy
-
They're getting rid of Dan Stevens?! What a pity... I enjoyed his character! ***SPOILER ALERT***** So sad about Lady Edith and Sir Anthony... although, earlier on, Sir Anthony came in on the end of some gossip about the break up of a couple, upon which he remarked that the wife was the most beautiful creature on earth, or something to that effect. Is anyone else thinking that she may have been the one that got away for him and he's looking to pursue that avenue... and maybe a reason for his leaving Lady Edith at the altar? I had to laugh at the summer cottage... "Downton Place" and what a charming summer cottage that turned out to be... that was a surprise Love this show and all of it's proper English ways...
-
I thought that 'cottage' was quite nice myself DA is a real soaper but it's too late for me, I'm addicted I love the settings too, satisfies my anglophile fix
-
Thank you, I wondered if anyone will explain in writing key plot points of what transpired last Sunday Jan. 13 on Downton Abbey. I can't get the sound on videos right now. Was Lady Edith "left at the altar" by Sir Anthony? Awful blow for her She seems always unlucky in Luv. I sort of snicker to myself at how dowdy the women's fashions are and how they make the young ladies look like old ladies, that's a humorous aspect to me and I enjoy it. The ladies' hair styles kind of grow on you though and don't look as dowdy and old-fashioned to me as previously. Some of them are kind of cute.
-
Yep, that's true Suzy poor Edith. Thought you might like to read the Guardian's episode review...tells all that happened and with humor http://www.guardian.co.uk/tv-and-radio/tvandradioblog/2012/sep/30/downton-abbey-series-three-episode-three
-
Thanks You're a peach and a pearl! "Bates has stopped writing to Anna" I always get distracted and disoriented (a little) when I see Anna, I think she was a science fiction actor on "Deep Space Nine" although she might possibly just resemble that person. I always imagine her in the futuristic outer space uniform I THOUGHT Matthew would decide to "save Downton Abbey." Couldn't think of any other way, although that solution seems too predicatable.

Susy, Here's the link for Season 3 Episode 2 http://video.pbs.org/video/2324382884

Thank you Lady Mary and Matthew's wedding flew by too, didn't it? Just a brief glimpse inside the church and that was all, after the brief scene with Mary coming down the stairs in her dowdy wedding gown
-
Mary was a complete b***h last night's episode. It is getting more like a soap opera, now, and I have not liked any of the season three episodes so far as much as the previous two seasons. It's almost as if they have different writers!!!!! Maybe they do. The tone is completely different. Too bad about that! It seems the only way writers can "spice it up" with shows like this is to go negative. How totally unoriginal! Sad
-
Tonight seemed more like the old Downton Abbey Too bad about Lady Sybil. She was the most normal one, my husband said. Lady Mary, still a B
-
Dear Lord, what happened to Lady Sybil? She was the most beautiful of the girls, too I didn't get to see it last night for wanting to see the SAGS awards (Screen Actors Guild awards in the U.S.)--the Downton Abbey cast won for best ensemble cast acting. I wish that Lady Mary had been allowed to accept the award and talk but another cast member did, the elderly one who thought she had cancer. Lady Mary stood behind her. The more popular actors in "Downton" weren't there at the awards show.

Complications from childbirth combined with crazy Lord G. wouldn't let her go to the hospital. What does best ensemble cast acting mean?
-
Did Lady Sybil die ? That particular Screen Actors Guild award which the D. A. cast won means they were voted the best at acting out that show's stories together. That they complement each other and act out the scenes in harmony without jarring discord and bad acting. Something like that. I guess I won't get to see D.A. anymore (sobs). It's either that or American Idol and I had got used to seeing Idol just about every season
-
yes, Lady Sybil died and it was a horrible death from convulsions. Baby lived...little girl. So now there will be tension as to who will have influence in the babies up bringing. There is also some tension developing between Matthew and Lord Grantham about mismanagement of Downton now that Matthew has his money invested. All kinds of new plots building I couldn't miss Downton

Right, Sally. Lord G., who has never worked a day in his life, has got the estate in a pickle. He will no doubt insist upon continuing his ignorant-about-business antics while Matthew will do his best to interject some common sense and business sense into the equation.

I just saw this episode... and I couldn't stop crying It was so sad about Lady Sybil dying and Lord G "I'm master of this house" and now she's dead. Also, he mismanaged the money by putting it ALL in one stock... : And now I don't think his wife will ever forgive him for not letting Lady Sybil go to the hospital... So very sad Matthew (and his mother) seem to be the only ones with a head on their shoulders. I hope he does get things sorted. I really admire his mother who does so much good. I'm glad Mrs. Crawley hired Ethel. She has a very good heart. I think England is a whole season ahead of us on this series!
