Royal Wedding - Prince William to Marry Kate Middleton
-
I wish them well. Its more than going to the alter and saying we does and it is beautiful to witness. love doris

After all the huge hoopla and biggest wedding in history, Charles and Diana still didn't have a happy marriage, he kept a mistress and he and Di divorced . Hope history doesn't repeat itself that way--I probably shouldn't even have mentioned it
-
No, you shouldn't have mentioned it. What does that have do to with this royal wedding?
-
Where are you going to watch the Wedding? I don't know what I'll be doing yet either watch at home or at my Grandparents. Even though I'm not a huge fan of The Royal Family I will watch it as its part of history and it be our Future King & Queen.

Here I go, being Mr. Bah-Humbug again, but... ...I'm still perplexed why so many people are enamored with a family with so much scandal. I'll ask this question again in a few years when we're all reading about their divorce.
I'm with you! Actually, I find the whole thing quite sad and I also fear that this will end in another tragedy! I read the TV scedule for next week and it says on friday, 2:30 pm "The kiss of the newlyweds on the balcony of Buckingham Palace"! Never in a million years I'd want to be in their shoes!

The papers today were loaded with pix from Queen Elizabeth on her wedding to beloved Diana & Charles. But very happily, no wedding photos of Charles & "The Rottweiller"!

But the one Charles obviously really loves is "The Rottweiller"! If he had been allowed to marry the woman he loved there wouldn't be the whole mess! To tell you the truth I always felt more sorry for Charles than Diana!

I wonder if she will go for for traditional knickers

Here's our Wedding Invitation:
Here is link to Veggie thread where I just posted Macca's Meatless Monday...cooking breakfast for the Queen A dedication to William and Catherine http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=2420462#2420462 -
I don't know if this Flash game has geographical restrictions: http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/13143354 The BBC Radio One team have dreamt up this simple addicitve game catching royal aouvenirs thrown from the balcony of Buckingham Palace.. I can't get past level one... Martin
-
Thank You Very Much Martin. It is available in the Netherlands. So now I have to try to beat you. Have to run now
-
I got to level 3 and dropped the short bread and had to start again

Looks like the Wedding wine has been chosen..and it was a favorite of Sir Winston Churchill http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/food-and-drink/royal-wedding-to-serve-champagne-favored-by-sir-winston-churchill-2274916.html I posted a column on the veggie thread dedicated to William & Catherine and speculated about the Wedding Breakfast menu. But living in the US I have limited knowledge of traditional English Wedding fare, so would love to hear from the locals about what you think will be served especially vegetarian dishes.

I'm glad that Charles will be the host and pay for the wedding however much it costs. I think it will be a great stimulus for the economy, for all the small businesses selected to provide wedding services etc. And Charles is a conscientious environmentalist so paying will give him some choice in making sure that the selections for food and flowers etc. will be sustainable choices. It's a very happy, positive occasion. info on wedding cake..it's looking amazing

We get the 29th as a holiday - a few of us wanted to go into work but the decision was made to close the buildings so it's physically impossible to go into work even if you want to. I never thought I'd hear myself say that 'I would rather go into work' :
-
In the States you have to get up at 4 a.m. to see the wedding! I'll try to see it via the MSNBC website "stream." I guess you have to rise at 4a.m. to see it online, too.

I'm thinking some of the food for the Wedding Dinner hosted by Prince Charles will come from the sustainable farm at Dumfries House http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2010/oct/25/farming-ecosystems-prince-charles maybe lamb and asparagus which is in season
